In an interview, Haley said the Wrigley Chewing Company contacted her to make an add since she & the Company we’re in Chicago. Within two days, the Song was recorded. Said she had no idea it would be more than an add. Turns out became popular just before she released an album.

350 million hits on Spotify, and probably the most popular wedding song today.

Haley's cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" was one of a string of happy circumstances that really kicked off her career. Wrigley's Gum had an ad campaign and they were looking for the just right voice to the story they wanted to tell of a young couple going through life. They had heard Haley's PMJ cover of "Creep" so reached out to Scott Bradlee for Haley's contact info. Haley was in the car driving w/ her Idol friend Casey Abrams (he's playing the piano) when she got the call for the opportunity. She told Casey she needed to find a piano player to fly to meet Wrigley's Gum. Casey is a multi-instrumentalist, so he said, 'when do we go?' (Casey also plays the piano on the studio recording).
The Gum commercial was so popular, people started calling radio stations to request Haley's version. This is a remarkable thing these days when you have to pay to get your music on the radio. The ad won several Clio awards for advertising, ran for a lot longer than most ads because of it's popularity. The song became her first Gold, then Platinum single.
Haley's publishing company, Ole Publishing (now Anthem) was already going to finance a six song EP for Haley, but due to CHFIL's success, they turned the EP into a ten song LP called "Better" which included "Can't Help Falling in Love", Haley's first album after American Idol, she then was able to go on her first headlining tours of the US and Europe and the rest is history...

This song went platinum for Haley. You haven't heard nothing yet until you react to her cover of creep with postmodern jukebox. Haley is a master vocal technician that will blow your mind. Her Creep cover has 111 million views I spent 58 weeks top of billboard Jazz chart. Plus many more covers that she did with pmj

There's another version/take of this song that she's recorded and made a video for that you should react to. I actually like that one better. But, this video with the Exxtra gum is so beautiful.

Well strangely the Extra Gum commercial went viral and ended up #16 on the adult contemporary chart and went gold. From a commercial to charting is kind of backwards but whatever works right?

another nice reaction jesse. i think i was one of the ones that recommended this along with some more postmodern jukebox covers with her in your "creep" reaction comments. it is very difficult to describe objectively what specifically it is that makes haley reinhart so great and unique (i.e. soft breathiness, growls, belts, cries, scats, body movements, facial expressions, raw emotion, embodiment, etc) but, subjectively, i always capitulate and admit its all of that and more and it really can not fully explained. at the eod she has a "gift" and it is so "authentic" which is desperately needed in today's world. if you want to try to get a better understanding of her, here is a good short interview that she gave shortly after this cover release and her work with postmodern jukebox. enjoy and have a merry Christmas: ua-cam.com/video/YSopw5hbUO8/v-deo.html

It's a shame you didn't watch the finished commercial first. In 2 minutes, you have a complete silent love story -- with Haley's rendition of "Can't Help Falling in Love" as background music. Then, this chopped-up studio version makes more sense. The commercial is here ( ua-cam.com/video/NemtQx0m0Ss/v-deo.html ). Finally, Haley recorded a longer version of the song ( ua-cam.com/video/d924LLHxSqk/v-deo.html ) and released it on Valentine's Day 2019 or 2020.

If you react to to Haley Reinhart and PMJ's covers of Seven Nation Army and Don't Speak, you will be blown away more than ever.
