guys... here is also a neat short interview haley did several years back about this song right after it was released and her collaborations with pmj (ua-cam.com/video/YSopw5hbUO8/v-deo.html).
One of the most popular performances being reacted to these days is by Diana Ankudinova and is a take on this song arranged by one Tommy Profit (Can't Help Falling - Dark version) in which they take 8 words from the verse and repeat it over and over. (There is a "light" version too). While Diana has one of the most unique and recognizable voices I am not as enamored with that performance from that competition ( much preferred her performance of the Crow - ua-cam.com/video/1AT7SZDDHo8/v-deo.html). I mention this because this song by Haley is so often overlooked compared to Diana's.
This rendition was recorded for a Wrigley's Extra gum commercial. Ìt garnered Haley 2 platinum records. The audio only version of this rendition on Spotify has now over 300 million hits. It's the most widely used song in weddings today.
The opportunity to record this song for Wrigley was partially due to the exposure Haley got from recording "Creep" w/ PMJ. Scott Bradlee wrote in his book the company reached out to him for Haley's contact information. Wrigley's had already mapped out their ad campaign, "The story of Sarah and Juan", a commercial that depicted moments of a young couple's relationship w/ a touching ending. The were looking for a voice that relayed the emotion they wanted and they found it in Haley. The commercial became so popular people started requesting it for radio play, earning Haley her fist platinum single. The commercial eventually won a Clio award in advertising, and ran for almost five years. Not only that, at the time, Haley's publishing company, Ole (now Anthem Entertainment), were going to finance an EP for Haley. It would be her first official output since her debut album w/ Interscope. Because Haley's "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" was so popular, Ole decided to extend the EP to a ten song album, called "Better", giving Haley the ability to headline her very first tour to promote "Better", touring Europe and the US.... 2015 starting w/ Haley joining PMJ was wild so many opportunities. You might or might not know, Haley also got to do voice acting work for a Netflix animation written and starring Comedian Bill Burr, "F is For Family". It's about a family growing up in the early 70's, is NSFW, can be vulgar at times. Haley voices the cartoon version of a young Bill Burr. It ran for five seasons, just ending it's run last year. Just goes to show, always be ready for opportunity...
@@RNTV I'm sure Tusk would get around to it but I think I'll steal a little of his thunder by mentioning that Haley was also in the Netflix movie, "We Can Be Heroes" directed by Robert Rodriguez and in addition to her role as Mrs. Vox she performed a number of the songs on the movie soundtrack
@@RNTV Haley's name isn't featured prominently in the opening credits for the first season of FIFF because it was the last major role cast. They said it was the most difficult. She plays the middle son. The one with the red hair. When Haley wrapped the last bit of recording for the show, co-creator and head writer Mike Price (veteran Simpson's writer) thanked Haley: "These past years it's been my privilege to see Haley become an accomplished and funny voice actor, and follow her success as a singer. We were all wiping away tears as she finished her final FIFF session this afternoon. Thank you, Haley -- you were the heart and soul of our show."
Haley does a great cover of this song. You might want to listen to a young Russian singer - Diana Ankudinova who is 18 years old in this video, singing a very unique version of Can't Help Falling In Love. She's a contralto, and a commanding stage presence. ua-cam.com/video/e28Cmrx-i5A/v-deo.html This performance was from a Russian show that aired last fall, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course off the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles. Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history.
@@RNTV Be prepared for a different mood when you watch Diana's version, however. To me, it seems cold...lacking the sweetness that Haley imparts to everything she does.
As corker mentions, be prepared for Diana's darker version. It gives me the impression that she is being 'forced' into her feelings, whether she wants them or not. Overall, a unique and very good take on a classic song!
@@RNTV I love both artists and both versions of the song, there's no need to compare because both are completely unique in their own rights and it's two completely different songs more or less....
I love Haley and everything, but the real star of this video was you two. I'm really happy for you two and wish you a long life together. It's moments like these that you need to hold close. My wife and I have been together for a bit over 20 years now. It's keeping these loving feelings in the now, and any disagreements quickly resolved, dispensed with and behind you that make life so enjoyable together. All the best! :)
Casey Abrams is Haley's buddy since American Idol days. They sang a jazz duet on AI with some great scatting in it. Must look fo Moanin. Haley tells a story when she got the call from Wrigley's to do the recording, she was in the car with Casey. They asked her to find a piano player for the song, and she looked at Casey and said "you can play piano, right?". Casey is a very versatile musician, with many instruments under his belt. Also, in an interview, Haley mentioned that she gets flown all over the world to sing this song in private venues.
Haven't seen this version yet...looking forward to it! Haley is currently touring and I have tickets to see her next month. It should be a great evening!
Well, now that you've seen Haley's rendition, you absolutely, absolutely have to watch Diana Ankudinova's (DION-na AN-koo-DEE-no-vah) version of 'Can't Help Falling In Love.' It will stun you. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/M-znD6QKbrg/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for playing this for me. I love Haley sultry, sassy, and growling. But this sweet, tender side gets me every time. This is what love is. I had to wipe my eyes twice to find my keyboard. I thought I was immune after watching this countless times. Nope. Great show as always.
Haley and Casey have good musical chemistry. She related she was in a car with him when she received the call to record a demo for this. He immediately volunteered his help. The sound engineer said Haley recorded it in two or three takes with "no comping," meaning they didn't splice any of the performances together to create the finished product.
In additoin to technical perfection, and amazing range and styles, but sultry and sexy is also her trademark. So beautiful! She made it her own for sure!
i am pretty sure this song may have been the first time i actually heard haley reinhart... (i know, i know... how can you not know exactly when you first heard haley?). i just vaguely remember watching this commercial the first time and recall thinking "who is that" singing this song. i wasn't really ever a big elvis fan per se but my parents were and remember when he died when i was very young. however, i always really did like this song and "pocket full of rainbows" from him. not long after seeing that commercial, i recall "all about that bass" showing up in my facebook feed and thinking again "who is that" in the middle and also thinking just how great the whole arrangement was, in both case i couldn't quite get her out of my head for days... however, being very busy with family, work, etc just did not take the time to dig much further... then the pandemic happened and everything changed... i was forced to slow down and i had time on my hands for the time in years for a variety of reasons. eventually i started watching "reaction" videos very early 2021 to mostly older rock songs initially out of curiosity of how younger generations perceived them, etc this eventually led me to a new reaction for "silent lucidity" from queensryche from a new reactor for me ellizabeth zharoff (aka the charismatic voice). I was immediately stunned and amazed how well she broke down and analyzed one of my favorite songs... so, i subscribed. over the next few days her reaction to to this black and white video "creep" kept popping in my feed. it was annoying at first but finally after a week or so decided to click on it... only a few minutes in all i could think was "who is that" singing this... well to be blunt that was the last time i was going to ask that question and the rest is history...
Haley appeared on my screen while watching AI. Steven Tyler described it best. She sang Oh Darling a capella and the high note she hit"puh-ting", sealed it. She was my idol.
My first Haley was Creep b/w PMJ, and the rest is history... Honestly I can't remember though which reaction channel it was that introduced me to Haley. It was not Elizabeth, I only got to know her a little later and her reaction to Creep was not he first one I saw by her...
Another great reaction and another great song to react to, is Haley singing house of the rising sun when she was on American idol. If you find the right clip, you'll see her kinda rehearsing a bit of it for a few minutes, before they show her singing it on the show. Absolutely incredible.
john... the best quality (720p) individual haley reinhart performances from american idol are here: ua-cam.com/users/Polychrome1201video. they are listed in reverse order so you would want to start w/ "oh darling" and watch in reverse from there. all are good, but my favorites are "blue", "bennie and the jets", "house of the rising sun", "i, who have nothing", "what it is and what it should never be".
haleyTusk also did an excellent 3 part "journey series" of the haley reinhart entire american idol experience including all the performances. it starts here: ua-cam.com/video/SavQWVlPl-Y/v-deo.html
She sings a song titled Lay it Down. My favorite of hers. The range she has when singing that is amazing. Check it out. Would love to see you two react to it.
Haley and Casey revisited this song. It's just as sweet. Haley changed it a little. Like the great jazz singer she is, play it as you feel it, and never do it the same twice. Give it a listen if time permits. A search will find it, it's in black and white. I'd drop a link but my new keyboard hasn't arrived. Both my control keys died, go figure.
Hi Jess, hi Mike, I discovered and subbed your channel only recently, I think it was with Haley / PMJ Creep and I'm really happy I found you, not only are you a sweet and authentic couple and really opening up your ears and hearts to (for you) new music, but also, and this amazes me even more, nearly every day you're featuring one of my favorite artists, Haley of course, but also Angelina Jordan and Lara Fabian. I've seen you've also done Morissette who is great too. Of course there are many really good singers out here, but you know, not everyone gets you, even if they're phenomenal singers, it takes some more which is hard to define or describe, a certain vibe you can relate to... So I'm really wondering how you're starting to react to exactly those some singers who are dearest to my heart... well, there are some missing, but maybe you even got one of them on your channel already, didn't search your channel for names yet or scroll through all of your videos... - anyway, love your reactions and hope you'll stick with the artists mentioned above for a while. I won't give suggestions for them, as their fans will have given you tons of suggestions already. Instead I'll drop some other names... as we seem to love some same artists already, chances are not bad you'll love these ones to: If you like please also do reactions to: Mon Laferte, Sohyang, Diana Ankudinova and Misia... Thanks for your beautiful reactions, have a great day and enjoy it!
Thank you so much friend. So basically we have all of your emails... 😅 The truth is Jess searched covers for our first video we decided to do and PMJ/Haley's creep came up. That lead to a flood of amazing suggestions. I guess we've just gotten lucky with the ones we've chosen so far. It's really all thanks to the support we've been getting. It's been so much fun. We can't wait for more 💚
Haley is very good. However…I just now followed a link down in the comments to a Russian 17 or -18 year old girl by the name of DIANA ANKIDINOVA covers this same song …and GEEZUS!!! I’ve never heard a female singing voice sing absolutely stunning beautiful mind blowing what I heard !!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😲😲😲🎤🎶 💫 Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
If memory serves, your sub count has now tripled since your first reaction to Haley...then Dimash...then Angelina. These artists, alone, could keep you busy for months...but there are many more delightful surprises waiting for you! You touched country music, but I'm anxious for you to discover Home Free. Then, it's a short hop over to the other two powerhouse a cappella groups: Pentatonix and VoicePlay. (Word of caution: reactors seem to have more YT "blocks" with PTX than HF or VP.) --- Home Free is like Haley, Angelina, and Dimash -- start anywhere and it's all good! The group's been around since 2001, but it catapulted into the mainstream in 2013 when HF won NBC's "The Sing-Off." Since then, the group has created a large catalog of YT videos. Country music is their specialty, but they do amazing covers of songs from all genres. One of their very best was last month's cover of "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers (1972, classic rock & roll) - ua-cam.com/video/O_7IYbuRgWQ/v-deo.html --- If you prefer "soul music", many consider HF's cover of Percy Sledge's 1966 hit "When a Man Loves a Woman" to be better than the original. Watch them both, and you judge: Original by Percy ( ua-cam.com/video/EYb84BDMbi0/v-deo.html ) Cover by Home Free ( ua-cam.com/video/-pygPmfGQvU/v-deo.html ).
We are so very overwhelmed by the responses and support we have been given! Thank you Corker for being along for the ride from the start! We will add Home Free to our list and am excited to experience it💜
Thank you for the Home Free link. Your comments are spot on. I think with their blurred video and pausing, Pentatonix will play. What happened to them, did they sign with a new label? They were an indi. talent that wanted exposure.
@@jeffkerr4861 Yes, that's what I heard. PTX signed and then a sizeable portion of their catalog became very hard to incorporate into reaction videos. Home Free seems to be the opposite. They recognize the value from "cross-pollination" by reaction channels. Hard core fans of other genres follow their favorites onto the reaction channels...where they are ambushed and Home Fried! 🙂 --- In addition to the two HF recommendations above, take a look at (and add to) my comment on the "Buy Dirt" reaction - ua-cam.com/video/uWQ_9PL-O5Q/v-deo.html Once Mike & Jess get started with HF, we'll have "the talk" about saving "Mayday" for later!
@@rcinsley To late. I'm fried on this side, time to roll over. I follow too many artists to keep up. i scour comment sections on sites that I like for jewels like you gave me today. HF and PTX artists all have separate careers and websites of their own. They agree home is HF and PTX and that comes first. Great concept. I hope it keeps them from breaking up as many groups do. I'll lock for your comments. Have a good one
corker... i apologize for the confusion in the live chat . i checked back in some of my history and it was "copy bloc" not you that mentioned the sound engineer (actually audio engineer). he stated "the audio engineer, on a gig site for the music industry, stated in in answering questions for his profile this was the work he was most proud of. he noted they only recorded two or three takes (because Haley is that good live) and the released recording was not comped (meaning they did not splice together different recordings)."
Not a huge Elvis fan- sorry, Jess! I do like his rockers. This? In my opinion (yes, just my opinion), this should never be sung by a man. Haley shows why i feel that way. A*Teens did a disco "Abba-esque version in the credits of Lilo & Stitch that was fun, but this is the only version I can listen to. It's just too slow (again, opinion!). Haley has made me like this song in the end, in spite of myself. Damn silly girl, just love her to pieces! 😍
@@RNTV I know, but unlike some people I don't want to step on someone else just state an opinion. I have nothing against Elvis, just not a big fan. Hooray for those who do-music is for all.

We can't wait for more 💚
💗💗💗
Haley is a beast These girls with PMJ are something else. You should check Morgan James doing Dream On. Thank me later.

You are not lying friend. We did a reaction to that as well ua-cam.com/video/zv7xPOU8qLQ/v-deo.html mind blowing
I don't know if you already have, but you must react to Haley's cover of "Creep"...
We have, but please forgive us. It was our first reaction, and we've learned a lot of lessons since then. 💚
Pentatonix does a great cover of this as well.
They are on our list 💚
If memory serves, your sub count has now tripled since your first reaction to Haley...then Dimash...then Angelina. These artists, alone, could keep you busy for months...but there are many more delightful surprises waiting for you! You touched country music, but I'm anxious for you to discover Home Free. Then, it's a short hop over to the other two powerhouse a cappella groups: Pentatonix and VoicePlay. (Word of caution: reactors seem to have more YT "blocks" with PTX than HF or VP.)
---
Home Free is like Haley, Angelina, and Dimash -- start anywhere and it's all good! The group's been around since 2001, but it catapulted into the mainstream in 2013 when HF won NBC's "The Sing-Off." Since then, the group has created a large catalog of YT videos. Country music is their specialty, but they do amazing covers of songs from all genres. One of their very best was last month's cover of "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers (1972, classic rock & roll) - ua-cam.com/video/O_7IYbuRgWQ/v-deo.html
---
If you prefer "soul music", many consider HF's cover of Percy Sledge's 1966 hit "When a Man Loves a Woman" to be better than the original.

In addition to the two HF recommendations above, take a look at (and add to) my comment on the "Buy Dirt" reaction - ua-cam.com/video/uWQ_9PL-O5Q/v-deo.html Once Mike & Jess get started with HF, we'll have "the talk" about saving "Mayday" for later!
There's actually another, better version of this song that isn't the commercial.
Everyone is free to their opinion friend. 💚
@@RNTV I know, but unlike some people I don't want to step on someone else just state an opinion. I have nothing against Elvis, just not a big fan. Hooray for those who do-music is for all.
Hope you could also do a reaction to KZ's version Live of " Rolling in the Deep on Wish 107.5 Bus

I noticed you two couldn't help fallen in love with her again
If you are big Elvis fans don't miss Kate Bush's ("Running up that hill" from "Stranger Things") ode to Elvis.

Jess and I have never even heard of this. How exciting! Thank you friend 💚💜

We are having a lot of trouble with copyright with all of our Indian music reaction. We have several that have been blocked world wide. We just started doing reactions and are learning so much. The things we are learning will help us be able to upload more with getting blocked. We have loved everything so far. 💚
This is why I love reaction videos! The first time I saw this I had an emotional response like many others, and since then I have listened to the song and seen the video many times and loved it, but a reaction video with good people brought me back to that 1st time I saw it and I was crying with you(maybe even more so than my original response, lol). That's amazing!....at the end of the day though we have to admit that we all just bawled at a gum commercial, lol!
Haha, this is true but that is how darn good this commercial was! The music with the story just pulls all the good feels out of you!! Thank you for sharing it with us friend💜
