Sri lanka is such a stunning country, was there myself in august for 2 weeks. the scenery and temples are just mind blowing. kinda caught the travel bug :)

Louis, if you want to be a pilot but feel you're not ready for the procedures of working complex airspace, consider starting in gliders. Soaring is very much a sport like surfing except you fly. Like surfing you learn to ride air currents in a very free form way. There's lots of soaring in California as well as Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. You should give it a try. When you get to New Zealand you might want to give it a try there too as the sights will be stunning.

I connected my flight simulator cockpit to google earth recently with a program called GE View. You need a real big computer to make it run smoothly at say 50 fps so it feels good. But now i have world photo graphics and they are crystal clear for 100 miles on a projector wall. I plan to do a world flight in the 737 soon.
