Go look up Vinnie the Microwave Johnson, 1990 Finals, Game 5, Portland. That was a clutch sequence. This guy committed two fouls that weren't called. Nothing special.
m.ua-cam.com/video/zBOw0wGNxQA/v-deo.html Here's a REAL clutch 4th quarter, not going 15-35 and going SCORELESS in the 4th and having your teammates make up a 10 point deficit without and help from you.
It's hard to overstate how epic this performance was. Bulls up 3-2 in Utah and this is the era of the 2-3-2 playoff format. So if the Bulls lose, they play Game 7 again in Utah. They had just come off a grueling 7 game series against Indiana, they looked old and vulnerable. Utah had just swept the Shaq and Kobe Lakers 4-0 and it showed. Pippen goes down early with a back injury and is completely invisible, finishing with 8pts, 4asts, 3 rebs. It's all up to 35 year old Mike to bring them to the Promised Land. He drags the limping Bulls to victory with an all-time great performance when everything was going against them. Utah had all the advantages except for one... they didn't have the GOAT.
This series was just unbelievable. The last game, the way Jordan just killed it, and at the end scored then stole the ball and scored with that beautiful shot. I was a little kid when it happened, but I just remember thinking how amazing that whole sequence was. Watching him hit that last shot made you realize even more how unbelievable he was. Thing always seemed to go his way in basketball games, and it was no coincidence, that last sequence was just poetry or art. It was his other worldly skill and ability.
Jazz took em to 6 games in a very rigged series (shotclock violations that counted for the bulls, and against the jazz, very clear uncalled fouls, pushoffs, etc...) Don't argue with me on it til you actually go back and watch the full uncut series. All these bull shit calls and the jazz still managed to take it to 6 games. if the series was officiated without the purpose of marketing then the jazz would have won in 5 or 6.

watch at 4:18 the kickout to Pip, then right before he even gets the ball back MJ starts his move fake to the right to get the defender thinking, then another fake to the left and shoots the fade away, utterly focused on making the shot not even worried about Hornacek closing in.

Wow 45 pts!!! Just realized this fact. He came back as number 45 second time around for the Bulls. What a circle of events. Truly god sent one of a kind!!!
The number 45 wasn’t so successful for him, but he knew it meant something so he wore it. Last game as a Bull, he scores 45, last shot for the Championship... its like a prophecy.
Jordan to Malone: “You trample on my turf and I’ll trample on yours” 😂😂 In Game 5 at the United Center, the Mailman who struggled in the previous 4 games delivered by scoring 39 points and singlehandedly sent the series back to Utah. MJ retaliated in Game 6 by upstaging Malone at the Delta Center, scoring 45 points including 3 crucial plays in the last 42 seconds . Down by 3, Jordan went for a quick layup, then double-teamed Malone and stripped him of the ball and up the other end, beat Russell with a crossover before delivering “The Shot” to cement his legacy as the GOAT bringing the Bulls their 6th NBA title making it 6 Finals, 6 Finals MVPs and 6 Titles.
Jordan’s last game as a Bull: 23 points in the first half, 45 by the end of the game. That’s too perfect. And Freaky. Plus the last second shot to seal the title to go 6 for 6 in the finals. If you wrote that as fiction nobody would find it believable.
It's crazy to say this considering MJ scored 45, but Russell actually defended him really well in this game. I've watched the full game back so many times and apart from maybe a couple of plays, there was really not a whole lot Russell did wrong, defensively. He funneled Jordan to help, didn't give him any space, kept him out of the lane (as well as anyone could hope to do), and contested really well. In short, he made him work for every single point, which is really all you can do. MJ is just MJ.

Legendary. Conserve yourself on defense. Ball hog on offense. That keeps the pressure on you and allows your teammates to play stifling defense. He took all the pressure , responsibility for his team. That allowed them to be energized on the boards and on defense. Plus by him playing 1 on 1 so much --- he had all the jazz players disengaged and standing around for half the game. Then MJ gets the steal very timely. This was beyond words. I'm VERYY impressed by the 1 assist and 1 rebound 45 point stat line. ZERO SARCASM. that's what champs do. Good players just PLAY good and hope they win. And have balanced box scores. Legends do only what it takes to win. They accept all pressure. Not try and involve everyone and pass the buck ... This the finals. Use your teammates to win. But don't just get them involved to get them involved ... I'm talking to you MODERN KING. Enter your championship , NEVER LOSE no matter what wisdom years by playing like this man- Mike And you'll win 3 more chips
This is how you close-out a championship game: With 3:00 left, misses a shot but gets back to steal a fast-break attempt. Scores 8 points in the last 2:07 of game. Gets the STEAL before hitting the game-winner WITHOUT using a time out to draw up a play. Bahahahaha!
Uh, no. Jordan was 15-35 with ONE REBOUND AND ONE ASSIST. He was scoreless in the 4th until the last minute when he had a whopping FOUR points. In fact, he was so bad he was benched by Jackson with his team down 10 in the 4th, but they made up that 10 point deficit with hero baller Mike waving a towel on the bench. You can worship the guy, but you don't get to make up facts.
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 He also had 4 steals including that clutch steal against Malone. You also have to put in consideration that MJ was exhausted in this game as he carried the team since Pippen was suffering from a back injury (look at 6:38 on how slow Pippen got up) but was forced to play and only scored 8 points. Kukoc was the only player other than MJ who had double digit in points (15 pts)

For younger people who didn’t witness this real time... the media pressure in 98 was immense, all that was EVER talked about for 85% of that season was - would this be Chicago’s final season together. It was constant. Despite all that pressure, he delivered like this.
Overall, Michael Jordan played a great game. Not only did he hit the game-winning shot, he also scored something like 45 points for the game. It was a perfect ending for a great guy like Michael.
After he hit that game winner you notice there was no obnoxious celebration, no histrionics, no stupid hand gestures or dances or bow and arrow shooting shit. Just daps up Scottie and his teammates and goes to sit on the bench like it's all business. Yet another reason why Michael is the fucking GOAT and none of these corny stars today can compare.
Probably the most impressive championship win of his career. Pippen had a bad back, was out most of the season. Rodman was declining. Only had one player off the bench on 10 ppg. Jordan carried the Bullls in this final series. The final 3 minutes is the most clutch and ruthless you well ever see in sports.

Well, the timeout basically give jordan the damn ball and get out of the way lol

MJ lettin the family stay back home so he can focus on the game

That man wanted to party afterwards lmao I don’t doubt that him wanting to focus was a factor but he knew what was coming after.
When he's focused, he's in the zone.

8:20 - greatest clutch sequence in the history of the game. Period
a offensive foul
@@SuperHarris59 Nah, that was for a regular season game. This was for the championship.
Go look up Vinnie the Microwave Johnson, 1990 Finals, Game 5, Portland. That was a clutch sequence. This guy committed two fouls that weren't called. Nothing special.
m.ua-cam.com/video/zBOw0wGNxQA/v-deo.html
Here's a REAL clutch 4th quarter, not going 15-35 and going SCORELESS in the 4th and having your teammates make up a 10 point deficit without and help from you.
Game. Blouses.
The last 3 plays of MJ never gets old.. 🐐
No one can touch this legacy!😍
MJ, Larry Bird and Kobe were fearless to take the shot at the end of the game, they are the 3 cluchest players in my book!😎
who cares about stats, its about chucking shots at the end right
Jordan will always be the 🐐! Hell No other dude can bring his team to the promised land. 2 three peats in 1 decade and in 1 team!
Bullseye.. MJ the 🐐 knows how to close a game and that pose says everything
Jordan owns the state of Utah

WHAT. A. LEGEND.

Beyond amazing Jordan played like the champ he always is he knew he would win and his Final shot would be the final nail in the coffin for the Jazz he scored 45 points the same Jersey number he wore when he came back to the Bulls all the hard work and years of winning came full cricle MJ is truly The Greatest of all time 6-0 NBA finals history .
Jordan to Malone:
“You trample on my turf and I’ll trample on yours” 😂😂
In Game 5 at the United Center, the Mailman who struggled in the previous 4 games delivered by scoring 39 points and singlehandedly sent the series back to Utah.
Was this an actual quote by MJ?

This is like an anime or movie. Just so unreal, as mentioned, Magnificent perpormance by MJ. He's aged but his will is 100%. Saving his energy and taking only the right shots. Wow. Just wow. And you see how Jazz respects MJ when he speaks, they listen.
Enter your championship , NEVER LOSE no matter what wisdom years by playing like this man- Mike

This is how you close-out a championship game:
With 3:00 left, misses a shot but gets back to steal a fast-break attempt.

I like that he acknowledges the Jazz fans, gives the Jazz credit for making the finals competitive, and you hear the Jazz fans applaud and cheer him. Shows respect once the game is done, gives them hell when playing.
Pippen played this game w/ a very bad back. He cant even jump.
I remember in 1998 a high school buddy and I was watching this I just had graduated out of high school that Friday because game 6 was on Sunday although I supposed to graduate two years earlier that's because I was skipping school a lot but I remember that last shot me in the high school buddy ran outside and star to cheer
For younger people who didn’t witness this real time... the media pressure in 98 was immense, all that was EVER talked about for 85% of that season was - would this be Chicago’s final season together. It was constant. Despite all that pressure, he delivered like this.
Some of these shots he made are just so damn hard. He’s just too good man

The best of the best handsdown 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐 I was 16 stills remember this game…
Jordan career is like a movie! And that shot at the end was just great movie ending
I like how fast the announcer said MJ's name and full information
There's a monumental difference between wanting to win and refusing to lose. That's why Jordan is the GOAT.
That last sequence sums up Jordan career in a nutshell. I'm gonna make a GREAT defensive play followed by an unbelievable offensive play " That's Michael Jordan.
Old man MJ the best version of him , king from the midrange.
Lets see if lebron adds more from the post and the mid as he gets older
Shaheryar Khan Right now LeBron literally has no mid range game.

Most of his shots come from within 5 feet, that is why his FG% is so high, for the ENTIRE 2017-18 SEASON, LeBron shot 157 midrange shots compared to 547 within 5 feet lol.
Product of Crew yeah I have seen him alot , he can get hot from that turnaround jumper but he doesn't trust it enough to make it his go too shot.
He needs to add more, can't keep banging with centres when he is 36 37
Shaheryar Khan Exactly, I assume he’s smart enough to realize that and develop a mid range game which will be exciting to see.
yeah , he could do it if he is willing , Hero ball is easy to fall in love with especially if he has average team mates .Lets hope he plays wihtin a system with young two way players from now on , would be exciting to see
