Great Kids shows also, and of course sports at its peak nfl, NHL, nba, mlb, even Olympics with Michael Johnson, Carl Lewis was still going, our figure skating and gymnasts, the best sitcoms, great music, great movies, war movies started to look freakishly real. But clothes were ugly, cars were ugly, and al qaeda was growing rapidly, drive bys and gang wars were huge. And Ccp was on the rise of taking our politicians over, and starting to make all of our stuff for us, which led to the cheaply made stuff, which is still an issue today. So there was great stuff but also bad stuff.

Barkley has always been my favorite player. His physicality was superb. Now as an analyst he is straight forward and doesn't hesitate to express his opinions. I love Chuck.
Thanks for posting this. These teams were so incredible to watch. Reminds me why Jordan is the GOAT. Not just the stats or ability, but it is the style too. He just looked otherworldly out there, more so than anyone else. Barkley was incredible too. I know the modern style is more three-and-d, but I am trying to imagine a scenario where Charles doesn't average at least 40ppg shooting 70% from the field with his post game against todays players. He was so explosive.
The atmosphere in the stands resembles of football (and I mean European football) stands when I watch the 90s NBA videos... Nowadays, NBA crowds are mostly busy taking selfies and eating popcorn in the stands.

The game was way better before social media and internet. The rivalries were intense. Players from opposing teams weren’t friends with each other. Players didn’t jump from team to team chasing rings like they do now. The players had more personality and didn’t all try to emulate their predecessors. They grew up playing ball all the time not playing video games. They cared less about money and it was more about the competition back then. And we had Jordan, magic, bird, Barkley etc.

Love these highlight games. I remember watching these games as a kid, GLUED to the tv. it's amazing that everyone, even the point guard, takes it to the hole KNOWING they are going to get mad contact. and they still shoot and, most of the time, score. all these players were hardcore badasses. Thanks for posting this. These teams were so incredible to watch. Reminds me why Jordan is the GOAT. Not just the stats or ability, but it is the style too. He just looked otherworldly out there, more so than anyone else. Barkley was incredible too. I know the modern style is more three-and-d, but I am trying to imagine a scenario where Charles doesn't average at least 40ppg shooting 70% from the field with his post game against todays players. He was so explosive.
The atmosphere in the stands resembles of football (and I mean European football) stands when I watch the 90s NBA videos... Nowadays, NBA crowds are mostly busy taking selfies and eating popcorn in the stands.

Someone finally said it. Quality from 02-07 is somehow worse than the 80s and 90s.
The game was way better before social media and internet. The rivalries were intense. Players from opposing teams weren’t friends with each other. Players didn’t jump from team to team chasing rings like they do now. The players had more personality and didn’t all try to emulate their predecessors. They grew up playing ball all the time not playing video games. They cared less about money and it was more about the competition back then. And we had Jordan, magic, bird, Barkley etc.
Pippen brought out those double clutch dunks out of nowhere and effortlessly

One of the all star studded NBA Finals. The best two players on their prime going at it .. Barkey the regular season MVP that year vs MJ.
The Bulls was always my favorite team as a kid, was lucky enough to get WGN and able to watch most of the Bulls season on cable in Maine.
I did not like MJ and supported each and every team that could have stopped the Bulls, but it was damn too difficult. Respect to MJ, one of the 3 best NBA players of all time if not the best.
Love these highlight games. I remember watching these games as a kid, GLUED to the tv. it's amazing that everyone, even the point guard, takes it to the hole KNOWING they are going to get mad contact. and they still shoot and, most of the time, score. all these players were hardcore badasses. I miss this era of NBA.
Besides the greatest player ever with no argument, one of my all time favorite players was Barkley. He was so strong and highly skilled.
People forget how great Charles was man. Dude was zion before zion. Happy to have grown up during this time!
