Jordan is very gracious in giving Kobe advice while in game with him as an opponent. Just shows you that Michael is one of the greatest and I am glad that him and Kobe had a long standing friendship.
Mike is just a classy guy. He is confident even today that he is the greatest even tho others r really good.🤷 I sincerely believe that. So for him it's neither here nor there if I help u. I'm still better than you.
I believe that special talent sees other special talent. Jordan played against some of the best to it but I noticed that the greatest seemed to gravitate towards him. He knew Kobe was the next future king, the next gen, just like kobe knew Lebron was the next king after him. It's a bit different now due to there being so many amazing players but some talent just happens to still shine amongst the greats. They are the elite of the elites.
*Kobe joined the league at the perfect time.* He got to play against and or with Michael Jordan (a little post-prime), Scottie Pippen (prime), Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Shaquille O’ Neal (prime), Steve Nash (prime), Dirk Nowitski (prime), Allen Iverson (prime), Tracy McGrady (prime), Vince Carter (prime), LeBron James (prime), Camelo Anthony (Prime), Dwayne Wade (prime), Tim Duncan (prime), Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, James Harden *To put into perspective:* He played against a 33 year old Michael Jordan here in 1997 and then he was dueling against a 31 year LeBron James for the last time in 2016. And they were BOTH the main player of championship teams during those seasons! He had a fair match against the two of the most highly debated players. Although we lost him, I am so happy that all of his hard work and love for the game as a kid growing up gave him the chance to play in the best parts of the NBA’s history, and that most of his life dreams as a kid came true. Ain’t that amazing?
Yes he was lucky, maybe he will be luckier if he played also vs Optimus (prime)... Just Kidding here i really do like Kobe and still so sad to start 2020... my god 😢
We will never see this level of greatness on the floor ever again. Man the level of talent in this game was unbelievable. Thank God I lived during the this era to witness it all!!
I think Zion Williamson has the potential. Needs to avoid injuries the best way possible. I know it isn't easy. I can see him being a Karl Malone/a slimmer Shaq hybrid. Has the build to finish in the paint and shoot the long ball.
Watching this game was truly mesmerizing. Watching Kobe and Michael talk near the end of the game, Mike giving Kobe tips and him just nodding and taking it all in just like he said in his story. Truly legendary.
I’m glad I can watch this game now . Didn’t have cable living in the country. Glad people saved this for everyone to see. Praying for the Bryant family
Kobe Bryant even at 19yrs old showed that he was the human version of His Airness! We should be thankful that we watched Kobe's greatness for 20 amazing years!
Shaq was trash he was a walking offensive foul the nba needed a face so they picked shaq and let him do whatever he wanted in the block dude was hook city most overrated player in history
You know this was a dream game for Kobe at the time. Everyone wanted to be like Mike. Who didn't pull up for a jumper and say "Jordan" just before the release? Crazy how all these years later, kids would pull up J's and say, "Kobe" R.I.P.
thats just because Jordan had the moves to avoid tough shots, when its tough he looks for other opportunities instead of shooting it which is very hard to do in the moment. Kobe was different, he didnt care about how tough it was if he can see the basket hes shooting it. Thats why Kobes shots were more iconic.
Yeah dude! i was born in the 80's and was a kid that started to play and learn basketball in the 90's... I had the luxury to shoot jumpers and say both of their names, sometimes "Jordan", sometimes "Kobe" while fading away, though the results usually say "brick" 😂😂😂
@WS 95 that will be the case for BOTH men. Not wishing death on anyone but MJ will UNDOUBTEDLY be missed & garner as much if not MORE from around the world
It's so fun watching Kobe with his idol. He's looked nervous playing against MJ. But he went off and played his game like he always did! Rest in peace Kobe and may God be with you and your daughter and the others that were lost that tragic day😞
Kobe brya-- Kobe Bryant!.. and Kobe Bryant scores another one by Kobe Bryant! They said his name way more than MJs due to the editing, half of the time it was back to back mentions before he'd finished the last sentence.
Alexander Gabriel Alqueza than you had to go back re view it again and again and that was just too cool wow you could see it yeah and Kobe gave him the nod like thx bud I'll remember that wow coodos to MJ
Jordan has no problem giving advice to make a rival better because he yearns for the competition. That's why these two will never pull a James Harden and flop for the refs. They want their competition to be at their best. They want to beat them without any unsportsmanlike deception or gimmicks.
Those two together was amazing. Plus Kobe had the modesty to ask Michael for a tip and Michael graciously gave it to him and publicly stated he had no problem being that way. That’s awesome. I wonder how he feels about Kobe’s tragic death. That truly was a beginning of the passing of the torch.
RIP to the legend. You set MJ as your bar and we could debate back and forth for days if you passed that bar...but dam you sure gave it your absolute best shot.
He didn't, I'll save you some time, but there is no shame in that. he's been THE player of the 2000 era, which is a huge thing given the amount of talent we got to see. Let's just celebrate his life and his love for the game.
@@alessiofe We would probably have a similar opinion on the matter, but Koby has a case and it's a case built on a very solid foundation. One thing I'd give Kobe is he had the toughest road out of anyone with 5 titles or more.

This game was like looking in a mirror... the fact that Kobe, at 19 years of age, had the audacity to challenge Jordan, in his prime, was unreal. I believe that special talent sees other special talent. Jordan played against some of the best to it but I noticed that the greatest seemed to gravitate towards him. *Kobe joined the league at the perfect time.*
He got to play against and or with Michael Jordan (a little post-prime), Scottie Pippen (prime), Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Shaquille O’ Neal (prime), Steve Nash (prime), Dirk Nowitski (prime), Allen Iverson (prime), Tracy McGrady (prime), Vince Carter (prime), LeBron James (prime), Camelo Anthony (Prime), Dwayne Wade (prime), Tim Duncan (prime), Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, James Harden
*To put into perspective:* He played against a 33 year old Michael Jordan here in 1997 and then he was dueling against a 31 year LeBron James for the last time in 2016.
Also all those players were lucky to experience the kobe era

You know this was a dream game for Kobe at the time. Everyone wanted to be like Mike. Who didn't pull up for a jumper and say "Jordan" just before the release? Crazy how all these years later, kids would pull up J's and say, "Kobe"
R.I.P.
thats just because Jordan had the moves to avoid tough shots, when its tough he looks for other opportunities instead of shooting it which is very hard to do in the moment.
