I recently spent $4,950 for the mid-level Signia Pure Charge&Go T5IX from an Audiologist. The level you’re featuring today would have cost me $6,000. I’m going to Costco next time.
After much research and visits to two other hearing aid shops, I was convinced that Costco was the way to go. I wanted the Jabras and was ready to pull the trigger. Then, I learned about the new Rextons available at Costco. I went to my appointment to pick up my Jabras, but decided instead to demo a set of the new Rextons. The tech allowed me to wear the demo set around the store. I listened to various activities in the store and engaged people in conversation, including in some noisy areas. I felt a bit "plugged-up" with the Rextons. I returned them to the hearing center, and the tech fitted me with the demo Jabras. The difference was night and day - no comparison. The Jabras, at least for me, were much clearer. The plugged up feeling was gone, and conversations were much clearer. I'm going with the Jabras.
I tried several different hearing aids before buying my 1st and chose the Rexton. The biggest difference I liked between the Rexton and others was the natural sound of others voices and especially my voice. When I tried them at the store, the person working with me had me try a sample pair and I told her they made my voice sound robotic like the others. She started their My Voice trainer and had me count from 17 up to around 30 something. She then had me try them again after updating, and my own voice sounded just like MY voice! My wife's voice also sounded just like her voice. To me that is huge, I didn't like the others I had tried that made everything sound robotic.
I m just finishing my first week with the Reach. I had a previous version of the Rexton from Costco for 4 years before. The reach is a 1000% improvement. I've had not problems with the bluetooth and can hear my phonecalls clearly through them. I suppose my only complain would be, I have an Android phone and I cannot answer or talk through the Reach. That doesn't bother me since I get few phone calls these days. I hear the TV clearly now and I have yet to ask my wife to repeat something. So yes, we are both pleased. There may be better solutions out there but I doubt there is one for $1500 and my Reach fulfills all my hearing needs.
I currently have the Philips 9040 from Costco. I’ve had them for 5 months and I generally like them with the exception of Bluetooth connectivity. Any idea when the new 9050s will be available?
I have been wearing the Genesis AI 24 RIC RT from Starkey for over a year and am amazed at the sound quality, even in noisy environments. The Edge Mode+ feature brings true artificial intelligence and machine learning to the hearing aid industry.
I am a musician and singer who recently lost a great deal of my hearing after a bout of bronchitis. Tubes were installed in my ears to drain them, but my hearing has not improved after a few weeks. Going to Costco next week. Can anyone help me choose between the Costco HA offerings? Specifically want to hear myself playing instruments and singing and be able to hear others I am playing with. All of the OTC hearing aids I have tried make my music sound really bad, louder, but terrible sound quality. I am desperate to find something that will help me play and record music again. Jabra, Phillips, Rexton will be my choices most likely. Cannot afford Widex, know they are the best for my case.
Ordered my very first hearing aids (Rexton Reach) at Costco last week. They should be in mid-July and hope they are as good as I've heard. I am very pleased with Costco so far but this is a new journey for me and I'm a little apprehensive.
It's normal to be a little apprehensive especially if it's a new world for you. Hopefully your aud will have plenty of time to hold your hand and walk you through the process! Matthew
Current Widex set from local audiologist. But her quote for new Signia 7IX is $6,500. IMHO that's ridiculous. So went to Costco for a test and am waiting for a call that Philips 9050 are in stock.
I have the Rexton Bi-cores. Already been back once for warranty repair and still have the glitch of dropping volume down in one or the other. So they are going back. Was going to then go with the Jabras but, lot of happy Phillips customers it seems.

I get my hearing aids from the VA. I get a new pair every four years and they are always the top tier technology level. Currently I'm wearing Phonak Lumity aids and my back up (which I prefer over the Phonaks) pair is Starkey Evolv AI.
@@Pinkyandthebrain290 I get a new pair of HAs every four years and I never throw the old ones away. I might have five pairs of HAs that are in working condition. The VA doesn't want them back and I don't think selling them would be fair. I hope that explains it...

@@Pinkyandthebrain290 They are the same and they are my current daily wear hearing aids (I would just as soon walk around without clothes as not wear hearing aids). They work okay. I'm working with the audiologist to get them fine tuned. I like that they use classic BlueTooth since it lets me pair them to multiple devices at the same time. I use them for streaming a lot. Th'e battery life isn't the best though. On days when I use them for streaming a lot of YT videos I will have to charge them in the evening to get more streaming time. Overall, I wish I would have waited for the Starkey Genesis AI or the Oticon Intent hearing aids. Hope this helps...

I am almost 3 mos new to HA with Jabra Pro 20 from Costco. My question concerns BT. I only Just learned you can only connect to one device at a time ie phone-HA, OR car-HA. What happens with Auracast if you are connected with BT phone-HA ABD a gate change announcement happens? Do you miss it if on your connected phone? Or if connected to phone when you get to airport do you have to switch to Auracast? Same question regarding TV streamer (don't have yet) and phone-HA connectivity. Thanks ps my BT phone-HA is excellent just sometimes a little issue tapping my ear to answer I've hit the button and hung up on caller 😮

I have had Rexton Reach from Costco aids for two weeks. Not at all happy as they do not connect to my Galaxy A32 2 year old phone. Here is a limited list of Samsung phones that they work with. I am taking them back.
Costco Kirkland Signatures in 2011. Currently KS 10s. I was recently fitted with Jabari Enhance Pro 20's but I am returning them. They tend to distort in some Bluetooth streaming and I don't hear my soft speaking wife as well as the KS10s.

My first were unitron from an independent ,then K7 from Costco, now Rexton bicore. Quite happy with the Rexton but wish I could use my apple watch to change things. I would be happier with replaceable batteries as they are a bit smaller and 1 week of battery life. I use closed domes and have no problem with the things you mentioned.

It all sounds too good to be true. I hope it's not. I believe I would like to replace my somewhat-uncomfortable, useless with any background noise, completely in-the-canal aids, bought at Costco a year ago (happy with their service), with the behind-the-ear Rexton Reach, after a demo. @@HearingTracker what I meant by hybrid situation was actually the echo effect due to the timing differences between LE Audio and the sound coming out of the PA speakers (not telecoil). That can be distracting, unless the hearing aids can cancel out the PA speakers.
I have a set of Rexton Bicore, they have been really bad for me. Group conversations are impossible to understand, outdoors, public places, etc. Battery life is great, but to tell you the truth they sound more like an “amplifier”.
The place where I struggle the most is while driving, specially if God forbid I have the window cracked down a little bit, or if I am in a windy location. Therefore, winds is not my friend at all while wearing HAs.

I got my first set of hearing aids (Oticon OPN3) 6 years ago through Kaiser's hearing aid center. They were too expensive, and I wasn't overly impressed with the service. I have an fitting appointment with Costco this next week and am planning on getting the Rexton Reach (although I'll keep an open mind for one of the other brands). When I had my hearing tested at Costco, the fitter was definitely pushing me toward the Jabra brand, so I'll be interested to hear what she has to say about the Rexton Reach.
I am a musician and former audio professional and am in the process of evaluating purchase of my first hearing aids right now. I live in the SF Bay Area and have gone to Kaiser and to Costco for hearing tests and advice in the last few weeks. I was extremely impressed , and a little surprised with the careful time and attention I got from the Costco employee, both in the testing and advising. As an aside, I found it interesting that he also was nodding me towards the Jabra as you noted ........without any heavy-handedness. As in the audio and music businesses, it is now occurring to me that , in hearing aid evaluation, too, there is more to consider than just the array of 'features' of any device , but that they offer a similar dilemma as when evaluating mics and speakers in the recording studio or home. They are 'transducer' devices which attempt the difficult task of of conversion of sound into electricity (microphones) , or electricity into sound (speakers) , and are going to lend their own character and distortions to the chain, sometimes obvious, but often nuanced. This must be the devil in the deal for capturing and reproducing audio for hearing aids, as well. A doctor friend who is also a musician noted that he chose the Philips devices because they had a more 'musical' sound to his ear. I guess it's not not so surprising. Sigh. This is going to take some more work. Thanks to other commenters. SOme are very helpful. I have just run across HearingTracker and am glad . Thanks for delivering some detail and clarity to contemplate.
My first HA rodeo begins in just a few days with Costco's Philips 9040. I asked about the 9050 and the technician wasn't even aware that it was a thing. She called someone while I was there. That person said the 9050s were coming out later in the year. She said the Rextons were not an option anymore. At least, not at this time. She didn't seem to be very well informed, though she's been working there for several years. This is in the Southeastern Virginia area. My options were either the Jabra or the Philips. On my first visit, she was recommending the Jabras. Two weeks later, I said I wanted the Philips and she said it was probably the best of the two. So, who knows. Glad I have 180 days to decide whether or not to keep the Philips.
I got the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s last Friday. I had the KS10s. Frankly I am disappointed. The app is terrible. Even when the hearing aids are connected via the iPhone's hearing accessibility feature, the app often fails to connect. The Jabras have a hard time switching between streaming from my iPad to my iPhone and back, often requiring me to restart the Jabras and turn off the iPhone's Bluetooth so that I can do a fresh connect to the iPad. I also get a lot of static when listening to audiobooks. I also get static accompanying high pitch sounds, like water hitting the kitchen sink or the parrot whistling. The ability to hear my soft speaking wife is no different from the old KS10s. I'll give them a couple of weeks before returning them.

I bought JABRA hearing aids at Costco 9 months ago
I got my first set of hearing aids (Oticon OPN3) 6 years ago through Kaiser's hearing aid center. They were too expensive, and I wasn't overly impressed with the service. I have an fitting appointment with Costco this next week and am planning on getting the Rexton Reach (although I'll keep an open mind for one of the other brands). When I had my hearing tested at Costco, the fitter was definitely pushing me toward the Jabra brand, so I'll be interested to hear what she has to say about the Rexton Reach.
I am a musician and former audio professional and am in the process of evaluating purchase of my first hearing aids right now. I live in the SF Bay Area and have gone to Kaiser and to Costco for hearing tests and advice in the last few weeks.
I was extremely impressed , and a little surprised with the careful time and attention I got from the Costco employee, both in the testing and advising. As an aside, I found it interesting that he also was nodding me towards the Jabra as you noted ........without any heavy-handedness.
As in the audio and music businesses, it is now occurring to me that , in hearing aid evaluation, too, there is more to consider than just the array of 'features' of any device , but that they offer a similar dilemma as when evaluating mics and speakers in the recording studio or home. They are 'transducer' devices which attempt the difficult task of of conversion of sound into electricity (microphones) , or electricity into sound (speakers) , and are going to lend their own character and distortions to the chain, sometimes obvious, but often nuanced.
This must be the devil in the deal for capturing and reproducing audio for hearing aids, as well.
A doctor friend who is also a musician noted that he chose the Philips devices because they had a more 'musical' sound to his ear.
I guess it's not not so surprising. Sigh. This is going to take some more work. Thanks to other commenters. SOme are very helpful.

My first HA rodeo begins in just a few days with Costco's Philips 9040. I asked about the 9050 and the technician wasn't even aware that it was a thing. She called someone while I was there. That person said the 9050s were coming out later in the year. She said the Rextons were not an option anymore. At least, not at this time. She didn't seem to be very well informed, though she's been working there for several years. This is in the Southeastern Virginia area. My options were either the Jabra or the Philips. On my first visit, she was recommending the Jabras. Two weeks later, I said I wanted the Philips and she said it was probably the best of the two. So, who knows. Glad I have 180 days to decide whether or not to keep the Philips.
The Costco HA techs do not know about new hearing aids releases until just prior to the release. I am waiting for the Phillips 90950.

I got the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s last Friday. I had the KS10s. Frankly I am disappointed. The app is terrible. Even when the hearing aids are connected via the iPhone's hearing accessibility feature, the app often fails to connect. The Jabras have a hard time switching between streaming from my iPad to my iPhone and back, often requiring me to restart the Jabras and turn off the iPhone's Bluetooth so that I can do a fresh connect to the iPad. I also get a lot of static when listening to audiobooks. I also get static accompanying high pitch sounds, like water hitting the kitchen sink or the parrot whistling. The ability to hear my soft speaking wife is no different from the old KS10s. I'll give them a couple of weeks before returning them.

True, you can go to a nice restaurant and get a basic burger (under another name) for $50. The $45 question - are you getting a better burger or being gouged?
