I had to run a pass through VSS from Dakota Digital and wire to the cluster. I gutted the original cable driven speedo and kept the speedo head mounted to the cluster housing with the factory buffer still operational. The Intellitronix uses an 8k pulse/mile VSS, whereas the factory VSS and ECM operate off of a 2k pulse/mile optical signal.
I just installed this into my 1980 Corvette. I was worried it was going to be a major undertaking, but once I got started it was rather easy. I purchased mine with the blue back lighting and it looks way cool at night. If your looking to jazz up your ride, I recommend it.
I did it today, and had him in my thoughts the whole time, he would of loved to see it done, I couldn't wait to show him, I got caught up in a engine swap, and some other, and put it off, and well just wish he was here to see. but I did it in honor of him today, and knew he would of loved to seen this done, and how it was done. working on install vid here as we speak, need new speedo housing though, but its in. glad to read your great comments, thanks again bro
I will, I went into a serious state of depression overhere. my best friend in the whole world passed, I have been shell shocked. my dream was getting a shop with him. I was amped to do this install vid, but so mad he's not here to see it. but hey thanks for the comment, I guess I need to collect myself and try. I agree on Dakota, look and price was a factor for me. thanks about info on company history. I'm just so bent overhere feel like doing nothing ever again, even with my car
hey thanks for comment, I'm upset for the fact unit was made with no mph output voltage for stock computer in car.But I don't know how much it matters for my year car, its computer knows how fast its going, this digital cluster set up can't relate for it. in a pre 80's car, these are great idea, but well,I bought it, so I do plan on hooking it up, making final vid of what I all did, showing what needs to be done. ever since I seen them out there I thought it would be cool to have one
Okay, its in!, job is done. and YEP, I KNEW IT, check engine light came on for speed fault in mine. but car runs the same for the most that I can tell. all gauges work! I made vid of 90% of detail till I needed batteries, part of speedo install I missed footage, but let me tell you, if your trans has plastic speedo housing like mine, be prepared to buy a new one.just wouldn't screw on, I had a v6 style 700r4 in basement, yeah its different but damn thing screw on it with ease, vids will be up
I have seen the photo for 91-92 style on the listing for them, but listing was for 82-90, I'd have to say they did make them for them, not sure if they sell them.
hey thanks for the comment! I don't think you can calibrate it to miles from old odometer, all you can do is mark miles at removal, and keep old unit for proof. cool to here you had no problems, but man if I loose these instructions, I'm lost, its like what color wire go's where, anyways cool to hear this, thanks for the comment
There's instructions on setting the odometer on page 4 of the install manual. There's also a calibration for the speedometer that starts on page 3. There's an online copy as well: docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/6a4159_41ab84d57fc74f81905cf1f59327181b.pdf
hey thanks! yeah I'm going to get working on it next 2 weeks aslong as no one else needs my help, or wants me to fix their car. going to try my best to make a cool install video for anyone who needs help, I'll be showing how I power up all wires and what it looks like when done. thanks for cool comment! I will comment again when I have new vid, thanks again
well the 3 wires on that new speedo sender, one goes to ground, anywhere on the block, the red wire gets 12 volt key on. and the white wire hooks to the gray wire on the new cluster. directions didn't say what to to do with that stock pick up on back of original cluster, but I am curious if the signal in the white wire is equal to voltage pick up sends to computer, I then can splice it into it. but I plan on calling tech hotline, to make sure, if not I live with it the way it ends up
okay, in honor of my buddy, I'm out here putting this unit in, I will have an update today or tomorrow, thanks again for comment, I imagined as if you was my buddy asking me dude, when you going to do this, so I'm on it now
Looks like big pain n the ass! My guage light are not coming on. But weird note is with driver door open and hl swtch to dome. The dash lights work till Door is closed. Replaced hl swtch today. Same results
well I did end up with a glitch in the mph reading in the board, it sent me through lot of issues in the process, but before any of that, the stupid sender for trans speedo in directions show you to put it on the spot where the cable went on the trans, after having hard time screwing it on, it was then after I learned the sender had the wrong thread pitch, so I fucked all that up though I got it screwed on in the end, the damage to the threads was done, but I had got it on. all was working, I put almost 100 miles on it then the mph reading on dash just glitched, nothing to do with the sender. so I had to uninstall it all send it back for repair, which they did, I got it back, but I haven't installed it yet again. and I never really got a chance to play with it when it was in. but got my stock set up back in, sucked cause my cable I had to rig to go back on the trans, and I can't find the right speedo gear housing unit for my 700r4, sucks, but so now I plan on getting the GPS sender for this time and putting the digi back in, but I want to find new speedo gear housing 1st, and this time it should have the right pitch, if not I screw it on opposite end of cable its 2 piece cable system I never knew they where, but crazy all I been through with it
hey man im have the same dash. im having the same problem with the check engine light. im have to pull the bulb out too. have u figured out the solution to fix it yet man?? thanks

Would you have any video of the blue back lighting? I've been looking to see if I like the blue before I buy one.

Awesome dude can't wait to see it working. Wtg brother.
I was actually thinking about buying from this company to put a digital dash in a '83 TA that I'm gonna be receiving.

What are you up to now on it? Did you get it working? I hear a bunch of people finding the Speedo resetting non-stop...
