- In this video, artist Joe Pinelli shows us how he uses Sennelier Oil Sticks along with Sennelier Artists Oil Colour.
Oil sticks allow oil painting to be approached differently. They extend the artist's freedom of expression, allowing a greater degree of spontaneity of "expressionism".
They are composed of oil paint, but a proportion of the oil is substituted with a neutral mineral wax, resulting in the stick appearance. These colours are of perfect quality: pure pigments are ground into vegetable oils (siccatives), selected for their low degree of yellowing with time.

Very nice technique. Really enjoyed the great demonstration and your beautiful talent. Could you tell me, are you able to mix the oil pastels with the regular oil based sticks? I'm not sure if the two would be compatible? Both being oil, certainly must be some way I'm hoping. Thanks again for your beautiful demo...
Mytexas1 yes they can be mixed together although they have a different consistency and the colour strength of oil sticks are much greater than pastels.
What’s the stick used at 0:18 please? I tried to look for it on Jackson’s website but didn’t find it 😢😂

Why t.f Is this so expensive so that only non talented rich people can use it and for sure and always in scratch and pull abstract bs smear and act / pretent like y’r an artist pff LOL.
