A 454 is cool to have, but in that big of a vehicle it's not all fun and games. It doesn't pull like a 454 Chevelle, it pulls like it has a 305 because all of those RVs were low compression emissions controlled big blocks with 180-200 HP, but they had maximum torque cams. This Winnebagel needs a Cummins 6bt swap in the worst way...they should've never released these big sons a bitches without a diesel standard.

That Winny would make a nice first car hauler. Dove tail the back frame add nice things like on board air and air bags to lower for loading and unloading. Rebuild the 454 pick a fuel system. With today's fuel prices a Turbo is a must to increase fuel econ and torque when hauling. That T400 is perfect, no need to replace it. A very good frame and drive line for lots of activity's.
With all that weight behind the rear axle it would not drive good I imagine. I suppose one could make it work but it's probably better as is. I'm sure some people on here are thinking "tiny home". And LS swap with a turbo. Thing is it's been done before. If this was a GMC with a front drive Olds toro transaxle and 455 I'd be more into it.

Seeing the rain and extent of the water damage I do believe it was a good thing you went with back up plan yes the truck made it bet we left some of the box at the track
Every time you drive an RV it brings back memories of having one as work vehicle. The steering stability has a lot to do with the weight distribution. All the Class C RV (van cab) that I've driven have very little weight on the front axle. The Class A (one big box) RV are better designed, and while yours has an enormous rear overhang it seems to be better balanced.

The wobbling on the steering might be a combination of bad tires and a worn out steering damper. I had the same issue on my Class C camper - but mine's a Ford E350. Great video as always guys! Love it!
I knew Bryan looked familiar, we raced with him at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park at some King of the Heap events. Small world pretty wild to see him on here. Great video btw!
I was once driving to work on a bus, and the brakes on the front left wheel jammed, but somehow everything was drawn into the cabin, and by the time I got to my stop, there was an awesome smoke screen and a wild stench in the cabin, from me then for a week it stank of burnt brake pads
My grandparents had this exact model down to the hideous carpet. So many good memories ... mainly at Charlotte Motor Speedway. They would spend the summer at Myrtle beach and then stop there on their way back to WV. Their campsite was next to Ken Schrader's parents campsite in the late '80s. He would always stop by to see how they were doing in the morning. I still have a signed Folger's diecast car he gave me when I was like 6 years old.

96,000 miles on a camper is about equivalent to 300,000 or more on a regular pickup. Plus, as most already know, they had a really bad run of 454s with soft cams that would eat the back 2 or 3 lobes off in 100,000 miles or typically less.😜
Okay I got to admit I'm loving the revive and drive with the RVs for the NASCAR events being from lake county Illinois lord knows there's plenty of these old RVs parked and just waiting for their last good time and now you're just giving me ideas lol
Love the comedy show 🤣 you guys always make me laugh everytime 😆 what I would do is keep it after the race, gut the inside, completely redo the inside and possible put a train horn on it!
I tried this once with a '91 four winds. Completely gutted the inside to where there were no inside walls, had the appliances stored in a truck, etc. Got ready to repair the soft spots in the outside walls. Hurricane Michael said NOPE.
Kevin, you and Mook and the rest of your merry band of misfits should start another channel of RV flips. The older the better. Get them "mechanically sound" and let the buyer do what they want after that.
So with the p30 chassis, you will want to get ceramic tipped spark plug wires so they don't melt 20 miles down the road and starts arcing to the manifold. Also if your model has an automatic parking brake it might be stuck, usually located on the back of the transmission(but yours looks like a 70s model so I'm not sure if they went back that far)
I work at 'Bago, although this one happened long before I walked through the tunnel. Glad to see some folks are still enjoying what we make. Oh the 96,000 miles on your engine? Like dog years motorhome miles accumulate much faster. Your engine has about 150,000- 180,000 "car miles on it. Friends found this out putting Chrysler automatic transmissions from motorhomes into 3/4 ton Dodge pickups.

Kevin's hung like a Budweiser Clydesdale.......that's why
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
if she is his wife then I stand corrected...I was guessing his sister was tagging along.
Well done! Thanks for the vicarious lift! God bless you! And your service to NATO! As a neighbor to the north, I both commend and admire you!
we need to start having a counter in the corner for when kevin hits his head/trips over something in these videos
Nothing beats watchin Nascar an drinkin beer 🍺 Love the camper videos btw Kevin.
That’s not a rod knock, that’s just the diesel conversion! 🤣🤣🤣
Rodney Knockington in the house.
It sounds like a 6.2 diesel!
That probably would have been the better powerplant for something that size, instead of the 454 that's in it.
@@valengreymoon5623 the 454 made more power all around..
I really wish I could meet you in person. I'm a huge fan you guys. I love old cars and working on classic motorcycles. I also like abandoned vehicles.
I met them in person. Tried to make a joke about meeting them and it fell flat. They were very polite to me about it. Genuine easy going folks.
Buy a camper/RV. Drive to Kansas Speedway in 2023. Park in turn 2.
Great video &love your carburettor talks always find of great help as you give information like we do not know about them ! I DONT but find I learn lot from you . I think you made the right selection on camper to take and cant wait for video's on repair of the winni ! great to see you all enjoying time out again A YEAR !!!!! WHERE DID THAT GO ???? ! .Keep posting.
No matter what weird noise you hear when driving, worried about getting you home, the vehicle WILL get you to the site of the breakdown😂
Petition for this to be an annual thing each year.
Kevin: "96,000 miles on this one!" Me: has 454 with 300,000 original miles on it, and it runs like a dream🤣
96,000 miles on a camper is about equivalent to 300,000 or more on a regular pickup. Plus, as most already know, they had a really bad run of 454s with soft cams that would eat the back 2 or 3 lobes off in 100,000 miles or typically less.😜
This video is 99.6% pure
jesse we have to cook
Okay I got to admit I'm loving the revive and drive with the RVs for the NASCAR events being from lake county Illinois lord knows there's plenty of these old RVs parked and just waiting for their last good time and now you're just giving me ideas lol
"Kevin, that's like $100". Come on Mook, gas isn't THAT expensive...yet...
LGBFJB
Love the comedy show 🤣 you guys always make me laugh everytime 😆 what I would do is keep it after the race, gut the inside, completely redo the inside and possible put a train horn on it!
I tried this once with a '91 four winds. Completely gutted the inside to where there were no inside walls, had the appliances stored in a truck, etc. Got ready to repair the soft spots in the outside walls. Hurricane Michael said NOPE.
That camper looks cosy with the lights on LOL. This looks like a blast! i might have to do this with some friends! Great video!
"Its fine!" pressing on it while waters leaking out. 🤣
Kevin, you and Mook and the rest of your merry band of misfits should start another channel of RV flips. The older the better. Get them "mechanically sound" and let the buyer do what they want after that.
You’re becoming the camper expert! Always a good time. 👍
These are the videos I live for lol thank yall for being yourselves you're amazing 😂💯
I don't remember this pilot episode of breaking bad.
Maybe in this universe, it's fixing bad.
As in old clunkers.
What an adventure, you are a great group of humans that know how to have a great time. Peace.
So with the p30 chassis, you will want to get ceramic tipped spark plug wires so they don't melt 20 miles down the road and starts arcing to the manifold. Also if your model has an automatic parking brake it might be stuck, usually located on the back of the transmission(but yours looks like a 70s model so I'm not sure if they went back that far)
notification squad, Have a nice weekend!🔥🔥🔥
and to you too!
@@WouterWeggelaar Thank you so much!😎👍🏻
*_BREAKING BAD THEME INTENSIFIES_*
I work at 'Bago, although this one happened long before I walked through the tunnel. Glad to see some folks are still enjoying what we make. Oh the 96,000 miles on your engine? Like dog years motorhome miles accumulate much faster. Your engine has about 150,000- 180,000 "car miles on it. Friends found this out putting Chrysler automatic transmissions from motorhomes into 3/4 ton Dodge pickups.
waltuh, fix the RV waltuh. We need to cook waltuh, fix the rv waltuh
I would be cool to see you turn it into a car hauler.
