Everyone seems to miss the original point of the Rolex Cosmograph. Rolex were in the running to provide a watch to NASA - but lost out to the Speedmaster. So pushed it toward the motor racing fraternity - as they didn’t really know WTF to do with it - hence they named it after a 24 hours Motor Car Race In Florida. Cosmology - the study of the Universe.
