Yay, another video! I really noticed that my Turkish has improved since your last video, I could recognize a lot of phrases, words and even some conjugated verbs. Your videos are really inspiring, because you don't do "I learned ... in a week" stuff, like some others do. You give a more realistic but therefore also less disappointing view on language learning. And I really like your positive friendly energy.

YES! Polyglots who learn languages quickly are very impressive (even when they can’t speak fluently), but it’s also a little discouraging. You can tell these wonderful women really put in the time and effort and made it more about cultural appreciation than instant gratification.

    Hello, Zoe.
I've found your channel a couple weeks ago and I've already seen all of your videos. You're a fantastic role model, it's very much appreciated your honesty and down-to-earth advice when it comes to language learning. I had the mindset that I wanted to start self-study four languages from scratch at the same time and I had this delirious idea that I wanted to become fluent in all of them in one year. However, after listening to your experience and recommendations, I made my goals more realistic and long-term focused. Now I'm learning only two languages and I aim to be a lower intermediate by the end of 2023, which seemed a more plausible plan given my time and interest. I'm beyond glad I've found your educated guidance to make this change!
I'd love to watch a video about how you track your progress and how you use different software to assist you with your language learning. Besides, it'd be interesting to know more in depth what are you doing in your PhD, the topics you cover and how languages have been helpful in this regard. Also, what motivated you to study sociology and how you got interested in the topic you cover. And of course, more vlogs, conversation with other polyglots or language learners, study with me videos and whatever you want to show us.
I'm always looking forward your videos, so hopefully see you soon!

I was reading an article today that said in our brains when we know many languages, that when we speak and it doesn't matter which language , we are in a state where all our languages are "active". So that's why other words, pronunciations and even other grammars can get projected unto the language we are speaking. Thats why you can be reading from a passage look at the word written in one language and accidentally say the word for that in another. Just thought it was interesting and wanted to share!

Nihao Zoe and Salam Mahya, thank you for this amazing video. You are both obviously talented but as you both said it takes a lot of work and discipline and once you get better it becomes a great pleasure to understand and discover a new culture thanks to the new language. I continue learning Russian, hopefully I will start learning Chinese once I reach B1 level. It is taking me a bit longer than I thought but that's just fine, it already became enjoyable because I now can understand simple texts and comments. By the way I have subscribed to a channel from a Russian youtuber teaching Chinese, and a Chinese youtuber who speaks perfect Russian which I cannot understand yet but can only guess the general context, all for fun and getting used to the sound of the languages. I keep watching your videos as usual. Thank you very much to both of you.

ما شاء الله ربي يزيدكم علما نافعا.
When I see how my French took place over my Arabic (my mother tongue) I tell myself that every language is just a question of practice, the more you practice to more you create neuronal connections in you brain and the more the language become powerful. Sometimes I find French words or even English words much more easier than in Arabic, because it's been more than 10 years that I don't speak, read or write Arabic, time go by and I tend to loose my mother tongue... Hilarious

Because of part 1 I started I also start focusing on learning languages, I always thought that languages take too much time

Zoe, seni ve arkadaşını gerçekten çok takdir ediyorum. Türkçeniz çok güzel umarım bir gün ben de sizin gibi polyglot olabilirim. Bana ilham verdiğiniz için teşekkürler

    ...You two are just astonishing.
Zoe, no wonder your channel's getting such a success; you're just unbelievely good and authantic.
You're the only survivor among all the polyglott youtubers I've been following since I've started 9 months ago (the only one along with Steve Kaufman).
One day we'll talk together in perfect Mandarin, I can foresee that.
... And as for you Mahya, I just discovered you, and God what a discovery. I won't say anything more than this: you have some kind of God gift when it comes to languages; I'm a French native speaker and a Mandarin learner so I can tell you that till now I'm still trying to figure out if you're for real or just a beautiful awakened dream.♥️

@@zoe.languages Merci. Ton niveau en Français me rappelle chaque jour que c'est possible tant qu'on s'en donne les moyens.
...Merci encore, et à notre discussion dans quelques années.❤️
