This does not sound like a contractor simply not finishing a job. This is theft. They took all of the cabinets and toilets and the wood for the deck to use in another project. And they took the money. This is theft and should be arrested.
I agree, these 'contractors' stripped the home and took everything. Its more like they pretended to be contractors in order to gain access to the home to steal its components.
And the owner isn't pressing charges or calling insurance...that's not fishy at all 😂
@@crystalclear111 it isnt up to the victim to press charges , it is the job of the police to decide what crimes have been committed and to lay appropriate charges . It is done that way so victims arent blamed or put in danger for charges being laid or intimidated or threatened into having the charges dropped .
@@crystalclear111 In Canada you can't press charges. The cops and Crown do that. Maybe Texas. you ;'re in Florida? maybe there.
Wrong. You can go to a court house and lay a private information in front of a Justice of peace. If the JP feels there's sufficient evidence, they will forward a summons to the accused.
This is sick! Those brothers need to be jailed and sued!
No those owners need education 😆
Laugh it up knuckleheads. SMH...
Jailed..I don't want to have to pay for there room and board and meals..
More like they need a beating.
@@murffromcanadamurf6414one was in jail for pimping women
Welcome to Toronto. Same thing happened to me in 2008 with a company called Reno Club. NEVER pay up front. I had to learn the hard way too.
my friend im going through the similar issue, the question is why isnt the gov. stepping in?
why dont anybody create a webpage the exposes this scumbags?
A neighbor of mine had a tree fall in her yard in June 2022. Her insurance company paid a contractor nearly $10k to do the repairs. It took them over a year to show up and they've only completed 3/4s of the job. The contractor is claiming they can't find people to work. Crazy times
Let me guess, no contract, no scope of work and attempting to avoid paying tax.....
Kinda sounds like being a landlord. Cops won't get involved for unpaid rent. But you take 5cent candy from a store with out paying and they will save the day. This is wild
@Rocksteady246 taking anything from anyone that's not yours is theft .
@Rocksteady246 Fraud is not a civil matter.
They took 58 thousand from the couple and destroyed the house and no issues, renters don't pay rent, live rent free and there are no issues. You are hungry or ill and take something to mitigate pain or hunger and the books and gavel are handed down.
Crazy!!
@Rocksteady246 they took the money and didn't deliver the service, just like those moving companies have been doing but the police kick the can down the road cause there is only one victim.
Are they even certified? The government needs to govern contractors
The gov't can't stop stupid. Who pays upfront?
certified? in ontario?..😂😂
I agree that's why we pay tax.. government should legislate a struck rule and a hefty fine
You gotta take them to court.
and what is THAT going to get you but a legal bill , lost time, and extreme agravation?
@user-zp7jp1vk2i Very true. This story is great but nobody knows all the details about what happened. There's alot of questions here.
then you have to deal with the lawyer (another thief)
They literally stole all their fixtures, not only from the kitchen but from the whole house... What this guy were thinking when the "contractors" started to demolish not only the kitchen but other places that wasn't in the agreement???
They destroyed the house, took everything inside the house and 58 thousand dollars.
What did they expect for that price? Sometimes going for the cheaper option isn’t the best. Always get at least 7 quotes for your renovation project before you start and check their references and reviews online. If is is cheap, then expect cheap. My bathroom renovation cost $15,000, and they expected a kitchen and a bathroom for just $27000. Their house looked nice already, they didn’t need to renovate it right away.
No they sure didn't.
Thank you for your input, UA-cam-certified expert.
"Their house looked nice already, they didn't need to renovate it?" Wow we have an expert at our hand. Everyone should make sure we ask this person before renovating if they need to or not
But it's their choice if they and that doesn't mean they deserve to be scanned..
Sorry for the typo it's the choice if they want to improve they're home but they don't deserve to be scanned
This is literal theft, I don't understand how the police can't get involved. Like why are we paying all this tax for?!
Those brothers need to be jailed.
With that said, what is that family doing dropping that kind of money during a housing and affordability crisis? They should be saving their money when their mortgage gets renewed at 6.5%.
Failure to live up to a verbal or written contract is always a civil dispute. There's no criminal offence. Police cannot force someone to honor an agreement or pay a refund
@@billboggs6641 but contractors stole the homeowner's kitchen cupboards and deck, isn't this a criminal offence? Isn't that theft? It's no different than somebody going into a store and stealing merchandise, no?
Exactly letting in FMI immigrant scammers into Ontario. No charges, no enforcement.
Awesome investigative reporting. Digging deep into the connection between Freelands grandfather and the natsee geezer in parliament.
Tax dollars well spent.
@@winstonsmith4108hahahha yep
It looked fine to me when they bought it. Just needed to put some tiles in the bathroom and paint the vanity.
Owners basically paid thieves to steal their fixtures. Sad 😢
Arrest them, it's a crime! They are robbers and scammers.
Never ever pay contractors in advance. Never.
Money up front is so risky but another problem is having a contractor leave you in the middle of renovations for a more lucrative job(s). Finding another contractor to finish the project is next to impossible. I almost faced that this year when there was both better contracts for them and there was a dispute between the contractor and his workers over salaries. I was virtually screwed over the invoices after that. If I had told them to leave I would have had a huge disaster on my hands.
Always get quotes for your project, see what projects the contractor has completed and references are key. These brothers should be sued !!
The company that fixed it or tore it apart knows how to steal.
Million dollar home and cheaped out on the contractor
Brand new X5 too. They can cry about it in Karachi.
Idiocy all around, maybe you guys should of settled for the working kitchen in a housing crisis.
Speaking of idiocy....
*have
Sell your car to pay for the rest. Obviously you are not poor
That BMW is maybe worth $15,000. Lol..
@@JJs_playground lol okay moron it's a brand new X5
Use a reputable company - did they check homestars ?
This is clearly a scam. A crime and police should be involved in crimes. Prison time should be in the punishment. Minimum 7 years. This is why they get away with it because the legal system is slow and costly.
I mean seriously, banga contractors? The name itself should have made them wary!
They stole the kitchen, bathroom and deck and they don't care 😢
That's pretty much what the vid says, yeah
or more likely the family wanted a new kitchen, bathroom, deck along with driveway and complete home reno but didn't want to pay taxes so they looked they went with a contractor that accepted cash under the table. Then when either costs started to get out of control or the family made too many demands (or both) the contractors pulled out. I am not supporting the contractors but they did way more work then just demo the house. They framed and roughed in the walls, hung drywall and started plumbing and electrical work. There is no way that happened over night. This would have taken weeks. More than enough time for the family to inspect what was going on and stop them from ripping out areas that were not in what they say was the deal (i.e. just the kitchen and one bathroom). Seems like we are not getting the full story.
Happens to often! When you ask for a police report peel, region police refuses... they took the pipes out of my wall and i said to the cop thats theft of property. asked to make a report. peel cop said i cant make a report..... thanks for serving the community
At least you can now start fresh lol
Do your research on contactors.
Criminals
Banga brothers did a Banging job. They Banged the family hard.
These guys are rampant in the GTA, and they keep getting away with it! Until they are prosecuted, it will go on.
Must go to court to get back your money and stuff stolen.
I think there is a law that these contractors can be arrested and sued it’s called theft
😢
Maybe leave Canada ?
why?
Because the country is falling apart and they would be better off trying else where like the USA@@pacman3556
@@pacman3556 why not?
so there is no point to the OPs comment@@theastuteangler
I feel for you bro
pay 1/3 down after 1/3 of work is done the next 1/3 and the last 1/3 when completed and to your satisfaction. Check referenced and Google what's wrong with (the name of the contractor or company)
Just sue them
Welcome to India.
"never pay up front"
no contractor will start the work without some sort of payment in the thousands.
what you should do is not find the cheapest person. find a reputable company? they may cost more, a lot more, but the job will get done. properly.
More regulation raises costs for everyone. Dont be cheap. Hire a GC and 3rd party inspections to monitor progress
Folks , DO YOU FREAKING HOMEWORK ON CONTRACTORS, before you let them in your house or give them any monies.
It's called % of completion.
Get them arrested
F thust!! Government must step in... home owners are tax payers I believe it's the government job to protect them against this types of instances
You can't just hand over $58k without doing your homework (reference/background checks), binding contractual agreements on scope of work, payment structure etc. These 2 punks in the video look more like gamers than contractors - how were they picked??
One google search of that Rajat guy and it comes back with him being charged in a human trafficking case in 2019 so clearly buddy did zero homework.
Like who the hell pays $58,000. I thought the practice is to pay 10% upfront and pay the rest in such instalments as work progresses
For the binding contractual agreement do you need a lawyer??
@@elena2125 Not really. You can draw up an agreement on what needs to be done and by when and also agree on when payments will be made. A contractor who asks for more than 20% down is normally bogus and I would stay away. You can pay as the project progresses, say at 50%, you will have also paid half of the total cost. As long as there are signatures of both parties, the contract is legally enforceable. A lawyer can also assist but as long as the following is included, there is no need for a lawyer:
Parties to the contract (Home Owner and Contractor)
Scope of work (What will be renovated)
Project schedule (When it will start and finish)
Price(Totally cost including taxes)
Contractor's insurance and workers' compensation(very important to have)
Warranty(generally 10 years for structural work)
Other contract elements (anything else not covered in the above).
@@normanm3976 Thanks so much , you are the best.

And why didn't these goombas take the appliances along with the fixtures?
Well, being cheap with important issues like these is the result.
