It could have been a lot worse: One time a tornado in Kansas lifted and carried a house to a mystical, faraway land where it fell on a wicked woman and caused a lot of trouble . . . . . At least nobody got hurt this time.
ROGER2095 that evil person survived the house falling on her and she became a President's wife, a Senator from NY and Sec of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton...
What a Canadian jerk I guess your about as much a A-hole as the Mover was not telling or getting permission to park a House on someones property for Days and then weeks with out asking. Have you every ever heard of respecting other peoples property or just a entitled Liberal.
The company obviously planned on charging her for delivery of the house back to Winnipeg and decided to save money by leaving it there and lying to the homeowner.
You haven't a clue what the company was up to, they did her a service by leaving it the field, had you listened to the story, the company was told by Sask Power to leave it there.
If they had dropped it on my farm I would've notified the sheriff. Possibly demanded rent from the shipper. A friend found a ford truck stuck in his cornfield. Tore up a few acres. He broke both windows, ran a chain around the cab and dragged it to the road sideways with his tractor. The dad of the kid called the cops for the destruction of the truck. Dad got a ticket and a bill for removal. Now the kids stay off his fields. Four wheeling in a farm field is a problem, it has to be worked to smooth out the ruts.
We need to find out the name of the company who transported that house - so we can NOT use them because totally irresponsible for not telling the house owner about the situation. Kudos to this kind land owner for staying chill about this situation.
Good thing the land owner was a good sport, if he wanted to a jerk he could of pressed charges on the transporter. At least we still have some cool people left on earth!
I'd feel infringed upon for not, at least, asking for permission to park it there... The company just wanted to save money... It woulda cost them BIG TIME for not asking.
When I worked for the health department we had a contractor bring a house in like that and install a septic system on the wrong property. Our inspector, not me, didn't check the site plan and approved it! It had to be moved of course and the contractor lost big money.
A well drilling company dug a well on the wrong property near us. The well company had to eat the $20,000 cost, not the home owner. The saying goes "Measure twice, cut once."
What a surprise both of them got! At least Patrick was gracious enough to let the house stay on his property temporarily, and hopefully they became friends after the house was moved.
Yes my friend and relative demolished the wrong house one time; the owner thanked him it saved him the cost. No lawsuit. Myself I double check the address usually
Phil up That’s how we roll in the the bread basket of the world love 💕 living in Saskatchewan 🇨🇦for the beautiful people👨🌾👮♂️👷🏼♀️🧑🏽🎓🧕🏼🧑🏼🍳🧑🏼🚒👩🏿💻🧑🔧and beautiful land 🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾
Wonderful. I think it's great the way they handled it. The Canadians are a very civil down to earth people. Here in 'Murica" it would have become a loud sloppy absurd mess and poorly handled. Well that's our problem. Respect to Canada.
Good people act this way. You folks who would use an opportunity such as this to get your nighty in a knot over trespassing or whatever...Take a lesson from this guy.
I found a car crashed into a big steel pole on my land. It was there several weeks. The sheriff's Dept said there was nothing they could do since it was on my land, not county property. They didn't even want the license plate number, or description. It was finally gone one day.
So...the movers just decided to leave the house randomly on someone's property instead of making a few phone calls until they got a decent answer as to where to put it?
Last year a MB company was moving a house on the #2 hwy and actually lost the load on the hwy and it was shattered. RCMP were there getting traffic around safely. hope they bought the insurance.
Bruno Sterckeman There were no consequences because this man was understanding and easy going. He was WELL within his rights to have the house removed and sue for damages (the cost to move the house in money and time) but he didn’t. Good on him
They can pick it up as long as the ground remains frozen, how much CND $$4 are they paying the property owner for temporary use of the property for "storage of the house"???
So the company who made the house doing what another company said not the person who bought the house what they did was major liability and can get sued now.
If that happened in America, it would've been tagged, broken into and vandalized, and left soaked in humand waste...then ticketed by the local kleptocracy as neglected...
Cory Challice I have family all over both countries and there are a few words here and there that I notice an accent (even within Canada it can vary). House is not one that I have heard a variation of (except for tv westerns).
Cory Challice The funny thing is that my grandmother was born and raised in Canada and she said both "ruff" and "crick". None of my American family say it though!
So who is the low life unprofessional company that she bought the house from? We need to be warned about this company - very underhanded of them to just park a house on someone's land and not take steps to inform the owner.....
Mia DoubleZeroSeven You and alot of people think this is new. Its really not. How do you think Sears came around. Also trailer houses and many other things.
wtf ? Power company has no say in where to leave it.. they just didnt want to make another 1000 km trip with it when they are only 20 km from delivery.
If I recall it was built by star owned by qualico...remember seeing it built on lag. Just before the north perimeter in wpg. Technically im not sure what road construction in manitoba that would have caused the delay from sept 😂😂 as there was no major road construction west of the city.
Legally it's a free house. He could have had it placed somewhere else on his property. Instant in-law house, or home for farm workers. Lucky no teenagers turned it into a giant bon fire.
Sask power should pay rent to the owner since they took it upon themselves to authorize it to be put there without permission! Only the owner can say what’s on his property not a utility.
Patrick Maze was my high school social studies teacher in Regina. I'm happy that he's giving Saskatchewanians a good image nationally :D
The owner of that land is very accommodating and understanding. A good person!
They could not contact the owner so they decided to just leave it in the middle of a field?!?!? Wow that’s excellent customer service!!!!
Better than taking it back to Winnipeg an charging her double transportation fee, seems to have been the most practical thing to do.
It could have been a lot worse: One time a tornado in Kansas lifted and carried a house to a mystical, faraway land where it fell on a wicked woman and caused a lot of trouble . . . . . At least nobody got hurt this time.
ROGER2095 very funny thanks needed a laugh
ROGER2095 that evil person survived the house falling on her and she became a President's wife, a Senator from NY and Sec of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton...
David Sherbert - I always wondered how that worked out. . . .
ROGER2095 now you know!!
Hillary was 5’11” until her her feet curled up to the size she is now.😄
What a great story. Thank god this land owner is so gracious.
I would of been more worried someone was trying to build on my land. This guy you can tell is a good pillar in his community.
So nice of him NOT to make a big deal about it. Good job land owner!
s p Canadians are laid back easy going.
Yes we are 😊
Canadia, a much more reasonable country
Try that in maine lol
Woulda been much more fun if he set it on fire or blew it up or shot it up and made a UA-cam video of it.
What a decent guy! That's nice. Here in the USA,someone would be talking about lawsuits.
ungratefulmetalpansy I like my guns, but I don't really think I would enjoy shooting people, I prefer stray beer cans and old junk cars...
Screw lawsuits, it looks like it would have made an awesome bonfire.
woulda charged them rent lol
What a Canadian jerk I guess your about as much a A-hole as the Mover was not telling or getting permission to park a House on someones property for Days and then weeks with out asking. Have you every ever heard of respecting other peoples property or just a entitled Liberal.
They were forced to leave it there. No need to be salty.
"Hello, parking enforcement? I'd like to report an illegally parked house in my field."
"Yes, a house"
Patrick Maze, What a good guy.
If they had dropped it on my farm I would've notified the sheriff. Possibly demanded rent from the shipper. A friend found a ford truck stuck in his cornfield. Tore up a few acres. Good thing the land owner was a good sport, if he wanted to a jerk he could of pressed charges on the transporter. At least we still have some cool people left on earth!
He should’ve charged them rent as a joke. Lol.
I'd feel infringed upon for not, at least, asking for permission to park it there... The company just wanted to save money... It woulda cost them BIG TIME for not asking.
Respect to Patrick, true gentleman.
Why couldn't the movers leave a note with a valid name and phone number? I suppose that would have been too much like doing something right!
Canadiens aren't too bright.
Nice to see that guy was cool about that lady's house being there. Permits can be a real pain. Hope it all worked out.
Loved hearing the word house said as many times as it was. Good stuff!
The man that owns that property is a complete angel!
Pictures have snow, so he wasn't using the field at the time. Wwould have been worse if it was a planted field.
No not an angel. Just Canadian 👍🇨🇦
Jaw Tooth+the contractor should have sued your dept.
Makes me proud to be a Canadian! Greatest Country on earth.
momentinpassing you must be confusing Canada with America
momentinpassing no actually I'm not the misinformed one here.
You must be a Trump voter.
momentinpassing I believe you are the one that needs to back your claims with source material that is factual.
hahahahahahaha
What a surprise both of them got! At least Patrick was gracious enough to let the house stay on his property temporarily, and hopefully they became friends after the house was moved.
I just adore Patrick, what a great guy not only did he say take your time but he will watch it for you!
I hope he will be the guest of honor at the housewarming.
I love how in these countries you can drive houses around. Can barely fit 2 cars past eachother on Irish roads.
what a nice guy to let it stay there very under standing guy!
Such a cool respectful, trusting, neighborly attitude, empathetic attitude and reporters friendly warm, relationships nurturing attitudes 🎉
Wow❤ Thank you Canada 🇨🇦 🎉
Yes my friend and relative demolished the wrong house one time; the owner thanked him it saved him the cost. No lawsuit. Myself I double check the address usually
Awesome laid back land owner. Cool he didn't make it into a big deal. Good man. Lol😊😊😁😁
The company should pay him for using his property plus interest for not asking him first. The nerve of the company!
Chris Harrison calm down don't give yourself a heart attack
You never been to Canada have you??
he wouldnt live down the internal shame in his own head if he did that...
Saskatchewan authorities gave order to drop it there, so what are you talking about ?
Chris Harrison, people like you.... sigh
Spoken like a true American Chris! Keep the stereotype alive!!!!!
I wish I could live in a place where this is news
It followed me...home??
Can you order a house on Amazon?
www.amazon.com/House-M-D-Complete-Hugh-Laurie/dp/B008P9M614
Can i download the house on my computer?
if you have a 3d printer, you can download and print the house
or if i have one of those computers from stark trek TNG I could prolly have an actual house made for me.
you used to be able to order houses from Sears Roebuck and company, and from Montgomery Ward. i know of two of these houses in Palmer, Alaska.
Wow, what a nice guy!
LOL this is so Canadian! I love it!
I love how he was surprised to see a house on his land but was like...meh...😂
Phil up That’s how we roll in the the bread basket of the world love 💕 living in Saskatchewan 🇨🇦for the beautiful people👨🌾👮♂️👷🏼♀️🧑🏽🎓🧕🏼🧑🏼🍳🧑🏼🚒👩🏿💻🧑🔧and beautiful land 🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾
Aww. What a nice guy. I wouldn't be as kind.
Is it just me, or do the locks on the door appear drilled?
Her family ordered that house from the Sears catalog in 1908, but they made the mistake of not paying for express delivery.
Fuunnee! LOL. I know what you mean.
How nice people? Are all Canadians like this?! Love from India.
Thats so cool, i grew up in Lumsden! My town made the news!
How does a power company dictate private property (house) movement?
Often the power lines have to be lifted along the route the house is taking - sounds like the moving company didn't get the permissions they needed.
That poor lady! So glad it worked out
that's why i love canada!!! people are so nice
Wonderful. I think it's great the way they handled it. The Canadians are a very civil down to earth people. Here in 'Murica" it would have become a loud sloppy absurd mess and poorly handled. Well that's our problem. Respect to Canada.
I honestly didn't know you could order a house...
It's called pre-fab . You could order one from Sears a long time ago.
* a wild house appeared *
Patrick you are truly a gentleman
This town still exists?
That house deserves a great name, now.
Sorry... "Somehow I had forgotten about the house?" Please...
Mudie Kitty ?
I think the humor in this is going over her head.
Oh man, forget reading comprehension. I guess this would be watch and listen comprehension. Jesus
So...the movers just decided to leave the house randomly on someone's property instead of making a few phone calls until they got a decent answer as to where to put it?
You should do a update vlog and see if it really got "home"
The land owner was sooo nice!
So she just happened to misplace her house? Hate when that happens.
He is such a gentleman! 😍
Hey Patrick I think your an awesome guy and thanks for the good laugh, I needed one.
Last year a MB company was moving a house on the #2 hwy and actually lost the load on the hwy and it was shattered. RCMP were there getting traffic around safely. hope they bought the insurance.
I love Canadians.
What a character the land owner is. Great story.
A clerical error by a bureaucrat, would you imagine. And of course with no consequence for the perpetrator.
Bruno Sterckeman There were no consequences because this man was understanding and easy going. He was WELL within his rights to have the house removed and sue for damages (the cost to move the house in money and time) but he didn’t. Good on him
Being sorry classic being Canadian
Luc Meilleur
The hoose was oot inna boot
W J why shore hyuck hyuck I already started on yours hyuck hyuck
What a dear man.
Was this house/lodge going to Port Asbestos?
Canadians are such a nice people
I love the way Canadians talk
Beautiful house!
If that was here in the states, an angry man would have destroyed it.
Is Canada even real?! When looking for a moose you stumble upon a house. 😂
They can pick it up as long as the ground remains frozen, how much CND $$4 are they paying the property owner for temporary use of the property for "storage of the house"???
It is very interesting. Land's owner is very kind person
What is this house made of that it can be transported on a trailer?
carbon fiber nanotubes
So the company who made the house doing what another company said not the person who bought the house what they did was major liability and can get sued now.
This Man is a Godly and has a genuine heart. Not too many like him in the world. God bless you Patrick
Karlus LaMark
Very applicable!
Not godly. Just Canadian!
What does god have to do with it??
things would be alot different if that occurred in usa. Canadians are so nice.
Brenda is lucky that Patrick has ethics because as most of us know, many people would have claimed it as their own immediately.
Good people. 😇 Nice, calm, and relaxed. I so would love it there.
Doesn't usually belong? Usually?
Is this a mobile home?
if it had a bunch of balloons tied to the top of it, that'd be news. ;)
Maylene Greenwitch but this is the CBC so...
Maylene Greenwitch lol
If that happened in America, it would've been tagged, broken into and vandalized, and left soaked in humand waste...then ticketed by the local kleptocracy as neglected...
They keep mentioning a 'howce', while showing pictures of a house.
Shamrock Shore I don't quite understand. How do you pronounce it?
Tim Silveira I think he is American trying to insinuate that Canadians talk funny.
Cory Challice I have family all over both countries and there are a few words here and there that I notice an accent (even within Canada it can vary). House is not one that I have heard a variation of (except for tv westerns).
Tim Silveira like when Americans say "ruff" instead of "roof" ?
Cory Challice The funny thing is that my grandmother was born and raised in Canada and she said both "ruff" and "crick". None of my American family say it though!
So who is the low life unprofessional company that she bought the house from? We need to be warned about this company - very underhanded of them to just park a house on someone's land and not take steps to inform the owner.....
finders keepers
Only in Canada, eh?
LOL 😂 You can order a house & have it delivered? You learn something new every day!
Mia DoubleZeroSeven You and alot of people think this is new. Its really not. How do you think Sears came around. Also trailer houses and many other things.
Snipe Stud00 I think it’s kind of cool 😎. My only concern would be the foundation (especially in tropical climates). Other than that,.. 👍.
Mia DoubleZeroSeven you can get a normal foundation for houses like this.
Mia DoubleZeroSeven it's called pre-fab homes
I'm thinking...hmmm... free house !!
I think SaskPower owes Patrick some money for rent on the field. They should also be liable for trespassing charges.
Owen Oulton How un Canadian of you to think that. 😒
Trespassing is only a crime if your posted or get told to leave
Here is another dud from usa
wtf ? Power company has no say in where to leave it.. they just didnt want to make another 1000 km trip with it when they are only 20 km from delivery.
Congrats on his new house.
Grew up in Sask,Mr. Maze is typical of the decent people of Saskatchewan.
If I recall it was built by star owned by qualico...remember seeing it built on lag. Just before the north perimeter in wpg. Technically im not sure what road construction in manitoba that would have caused the delay from sept 😂😂 as there was no major road construction west of the city.
So the landowner has no say....not good not good....who owns your land? Wow.
Plot twist- now both of them Got Married! And live happily ever in that house
If only there was a moose standing next to the house this would be the most Canadian story ever.
LOL! Good one!
True Canadian conduct…chilled and amused!
