      EXACTLY! Now that it’s been bought, the new owners are going to make her pay rent, so she’s going to have to come up with money for housing now. She should have saved all of the rent she would have been paying over the years and she could be the owner instead of a renter. I WISH I could live somewhere rent free for ONE year, I’d have the down payment for my own house!

It's no one's damn business what she's saved and what she hasn't. Maybe she did at one point and something came up. What a rude and judgemental comment!! Especially since MANY people cannot afford anything else BUT rent, they obviously haven't saved any money either, because they can't!

He borrow tools and neighbors donated dry wall, and fixtures for him. He got a job a few months ago and when to see if he could find out the history of the house and the city end up giving him the house and he looks happy....he told me he was on his last straw when he was living on the streets and took this gamble...cant say I blame him

      I think that with run-down and forgotten properties if a homeless person with a motivated attitude- or even a few homeless roommates that can work together to fix it up want to do so-- they should have some kind of process to allow it, monitor improvements for safety, and maybe look in on them for the first year or so to make sure things are okay for them. I live in a neighborhood where furniture and all sorts of things are tossed out. Half the people i know got most of their furniture for free. There are also lots of surplus type places where you can get plumbing, electrical, etc. It wouldn't hurt a thing and it would help depressed neighborhoods. But it makes sense, so I doubt it will ever happen.

For now landlords rape tenants where income is greater n supported by local government through higher property tax. Keeping income down an rent high yeilds more section 8 housing. Correct-government serves the minority rich through repression of the majority. Now you know why for every government representative there exist 6 lobbyist. Yep-for every dollar handed out for aid 8 has to be raised in taxes or borrowed. Now ya know why public debt is beyond control or ability to be paided without devaluing money through inflation. All of this has been made possible by the Feds since LBJ's "Great Society". This greed has transformed this nation from the world's police for peace into one of the most aggressive invaders . As a single mother who was raised by upper middle class income earning professional parents who worked A LOT... Looking back, I have no doubt we were totally neglected. This was virtually normal back in my day... not all working parents were like this, but mine were definitely neglectful outside of providing a decent home and typical crap food with some vegetables every now and then... oh and braces.
      When I became a mother, I chose to do whatever I could do to spend time with my children and guide them, protect them, feed them, develop them etc. etc. They eat their vegetables and are basically well adjusted and are moving in good directions as young adults... well, my youngest is 17, but I am confident about him attending college and he has aspirations. No drug problems... just normal teenager boy issues, paying stupid tax every now and then. Every dime I made went to my kids or doing what needed to be done to maintain our home. I took every opportunity to work as little as possible for the purpose of providing my time for them and with them. I had just started to work full time again, then bam, my dad is on the verge of death and needs 24 hour care, so it will be some time before I work full time again. I am broke, and I lived rent free. I chose this. No regrets.
      Maybe her priorities were in the right place. It is all about what is important to you. To my parents, owning real estate was important, to me, giving my kids attention and helping them develop good habits is my priority.

    • @DoubleDogDare54
      @DoubleDogDare54 6 років тому +2

      What makes you think she had a "pay period"? I'm betting she is a welfare queen, on PA, not working and not look for a job either. Which means her "happy ending" is government assistance to pay the rent and she will STILL be living in that house for free - on the taxpayer's dime.

      @TheJw1358 "Had" - past tense. She lost that job when her boss went to prison and the real estate company she worked for went under. She had/has kids - in one shot of her walking through the house there was a baby carrier sitting on the floor so who knows how many kids she really has living there.
      She's a welfare queen, pure and simple. That's how she pays the utilities and other expenses. Has kids to collect welfare with, no husband, gets food stamps and other government assistance that allows her to sit on her @$$ and let working taxpayers foot the bill for her life of leisure.

    • @DoubleDogDare54
      @DoubleDogDare54 6 років тому +2

      @TheJw1358 She's squatting in an abandoned house in Detroit with a bunch of kids and can't scratch up $7500 or a loan for that amount to buy the place outright, even after living there free and not paying rent for 9 years.
      I don't have to "assume" as it is obvious what the score is on this gal.

    This happened to me as a REALTOR with a family at CHURCH! The home was going into foreclosure while they were renting. They were obligated to pay the landlord, the owners, but once they learned that the owners were going into foreclosure, they stopped paying because ‘we didn’t know who to pay.’ They are still in leadership at the church despite arbitration with more senior pastors who told them to right this wrong! They did NOT!

    • @MrWolfSnack
      @MrWolfSnack 10 місяців тому

      Those pastors get free handouts from people and never have to cry about money and never pay taxes. They have no concept of how society functions when you have to work for money and be at risk of losing it all. Especially with so many foreign investors doing land grabs. You just keep your mouth shut and do not say anything. As soon as some pencil pusher at the city gets notice to dig into that property, you can bet they will be gone instantly. You can only hope it will get buried in paperwork and not see the light of day. My city is only now demolishing abandoned houses that have sat over 20 years with nobody living in them. They never bothered to check if they were occupied this whole time and just let them go to waste until they were too far gone to save.
