I will never not be triggered by parents saying "They aren't a good role model for my kids". You should be your kids role model, not random stars. Miley is a grown woman, the entitlement these parents think they have to just make everyone act the way THEY want for their kids is ridiculous. You've got to be dense to really believe that celebrities and influencers do not have influence on children and even adults honestly. I'm not saying I would be a helicopter parent and be worried about people like Miley but you're just lying to yourself if you really think they don't influence children. I do agree that you should be a good role model for your children but that doesn't mean that your child realizes you're a good role model and would appreciate you teaching them lessons versus a cool celebrity teaching them to twerk that's the sad reality we live in nowadays

What makes you think that they haven't in a different way? Miley makes them money off her "independant dgaf woman" image. Her parent's were in the business prior to her birth. Her deal with Disney included her father being a part of the show. Do you think if like Britney she decided to do a different kind of album, one that advocated something not as profitable, that she'd still be "free"?

The 'girly-girl' is the girl who keeps on shopping - right? right? spends money on her looks and values materialism - right? It's a friggin scam. The girly-girl used to MAKE HER OWN dress, hat etc. Now we substitute that with expensive hobbies like scrapbooking. smdh just more consumerism

It's sad that very few artists calculate their marketing strategies like miley did for bangerz. This is really a masterclass of marketing and only relying on herself. She didn’t start on her relationship, but she expressed her feelings, she didn't shade directly disney, she just expressed her growth. I think that she committed to what she wanted, knowing many would eat her up. This is the classiest yet strongest marketing ever. The only person that had planned a marketing stategy similarly is OliviabRodrigo, but I'm not a fan on someone that bases her marketing on drama that involve other people. Especially when the other person or people get death threts, even if her album is a banger. Miley made this about herself and not her drama and I respect her a lot for it

When people are controlled by others for a long time they break out and swing far in the opposite direction. Disney controlled Miley and she probably felt like a puppet for so long. As she said in an interview, when you become in control (of yourself) that's when others tell you you're out of control. Miley is a free spirit and that is what makes her so beautiful. You can't cage a butterfly or bird and then be surprised when it escapes and flies away. She is a true artist and I love her. ❤️

Thank you for this series! First of all, Fox News has no right to criticize anyone much less Miley with how they speak no truths & nothing news worthy. Brooke Shields has no room to speak either. Y’all should do a Deep Dive on her and you’ll see she was under age and shooting promiscuous movies and was the object of old man 1970s/early 80s desires. Miley rocks!

I was 13/14 during this era and loved it, mostly because she was pissing off so many people lmao. I think because I was a very shy, reserved girl who cared about what others thought, it was nice to see Miley not giving a fuck and doing whatever she wanted to do.

When I was younger I was truly shocked like those people in the beginning. I threw away all my Hannah Montana collections bc I did feel like she killed Hannah Montana at the time. Now that I’m older I realized she was under a lot of pressure as a child actress and she’s actually lucky she got out when she did. I think she has an amazing voice for country pop and I will always stand by that!

I think that if miley had gone for a more adult image but without the black costume, the shock value, the tongue, and the foam finger, it'd have been easier for me to swallow. Zendaya went thru the disney machine too, but she didn't act like a preacher's kid at her first weekend away from home.

I remember the time in my life which was the Bangerz era of Miley. 2013 I had been living with my bf of now 13 years in a tiny one bedroom apartment and I was struggling with my addiction/alcoholism/and mental health issues as well as some issues in our relationship and this album was EVERYTHING TO ME! IT SPOKE TO ME! IT HELPED ME GET THROUGH SO MUCH! I am sober now (Just celebrated 2 years sober on the 7th) and I will be forever grateful to Miley for making this album because it was exactly the soundtrack I needed right at that time in my life! This era will ALWAYS be her MOST ICONIC EVER!!! I miss it so much!!! This video was REALLY well done!!! 💞💞💞💯💯💯👏👏👏 thanks for this video! You've earned a new subscriber!

There’s never been a stage of Miley’s life that I didn’t support and love whole heartedly. Seriously as long as I can remember. I remember being in elementary school becoming obsessed with Hannah Montana, and got to go to her concert when she first started performing as Miley ❤
I never use the word iconic but Miley absolutely is. I love that the person she is now still acknowledges that this Miley was a part of growing up. We all go through that, it’s just not broadcasted and analyzed by millions. She’s so strong ❤ everything she went through with Liam, I’m so happy that they split up. Him being embarrassed over her says more about him.

It really made me reflect yet again on how I absorbed what the media was saying compared to how I'm able to separate myself from those preconceptions as an adult and form my own opinions. The way these people spoke about her and women in general was far more damaging than anything that she could ever present on a stage.
