Nia you are so beautiful. It's amazing to see a beautiful young woman out chasing her dreams not scared to get her hands dirty to make a honest living without compromising the integrity of your woman hood to make a living. I'm proud of you and I don't even know you.
I made a similar choice for the same reason. I wasn't feeling good in college and knew I liked driving so I went and got my cdl. I got my first job on my 22nd birthday with werner. Drove 9 months, quit and did a semester of college, and got my haz/tanker and started hauling crude oil. Pay is better and I'm home everyday but I'm maxing out my clock every night. Been at it for 6 months now and kinda miss the otr life! All the hard work has made me realize I might want to look for other high paying opportunities that don't require 14 hrs 6 nights a week.
Hey there I just ran across your channel. Just wanted to encourage you on in this journey we call life. I am 53 I get stuck then unstuck then stuck again. lol Such is the winds of life. Don't get discouraged, just go with the flow. :) I thought about getting into trucking early in life as it fit my personality but I had a drinking problem got a few DUI's license bad. So scrapped that. Went into the welding industry did pretty good. At that time few women were in the industry but I ran across some very good lady welders. You sound like a strong willed young lady. So stay in there you will do just fine in the trucking industry or where ever life takes you. My license has since cleaned up and I quit drinking like 21yrs ago to the glory of God. Maybe I will take a look again at the trucking industry. Its never to late that is the good thing about that industry. You inspire me. I am glad you gave up the weed. It holds you back. I not judging but it can kinda keep you stuck in life and I can relate that when I quit drinking like my mind was a lot clearer and could think clear. I now like being sober minded. Your young and your life ahead of you so I pray the Lord lead you on this journey. Keep it real! If your ever coming through SC look me up would like to meet you and ask you more questions.
I think that's great. I'm on the other spectrum i worked in corporate for 27 years im 50 and this will be my career till i retire. It's because of you i even think i can do this. I love driving too. Worked for ubet as a second job. Drove about 3k rides. So glad i subscribed. ❤
I work for a small local company in chicago running the rail yards work is getting bad. Stay with a big carrier stay working at night less traffic safer less chances of accidents etc stay grinding. I make sure to hit the gym in the am roll out around early afternoon. Stay up with your health not that you look outta shape or unhealthy 😂
My preferred is early 4am to park early. Or night because less traffic =more miles. Coming from a Tyson dedicated having terminals to park at is the best thing about dedicated.

I have been a trucker for 30 years and I can say this; to each is own, some love the OTR side (I did for many years) the "freedom" and ability to see this Country (I have been to every State in the U.S. and Alaska, not to mention Canada and Mexico) stuff I would have never been able to do without being an OTR driver. Then after many years of living a Nomad life; I got into the Owner Operator side and a dedicated route, that in itself was a lot of fun, same travel trip, got to know worked at every stop and made friends, pay was decent too. Now I have switched back to a small family run company as a company driver; I switched back to a company driver because there is a lot less headaches I have to take care of (from permitting to finding loads and maintance) and the money/health insurance/401k matching is still really good, I will stay a company driver until the day I die because of the Federal Government and their bullshit rules. @@Roadrunnania I'm waiting for a cdl class to open. This month is full already. My goal is to go otr so I can go see new places. After living in Washington state for most my life I'm ready for a change and have considered AZ the last few years. I'm enjoying your stuff. Keep up the great work.

Both, depending on the school you go to they will teach you how to read an atlas and how to trip plan using it. Navigations specific to commercial vehicles are also an option, as well as GPS apps that are commercial vehicle specific. Some people use all 3 just to be safe if 1 of them tries to send you down an off way you can just trust the atlas and the other gps.
when you went out with your trainer. how did you deal with training as a team driver. cause i went out with a trainer. he expected me to get up four in the morning. i had a hard time with that cause i a not a morning person.
Training was hard for me. I ended up having 2 different trainers. I’d recommend going with a company that requires less training swifts is about a month. Never do anything you aren’t comfortable doing, it is YOUR cdl on the line and nobody can make you drive when you’re not comfortable doing so.
I didn’t hear you say what you were going to do with a CJ degree unless it’s prerequisite for a law degree, don’t waste your time. Focus on business or computers, that’s where the future is. 20 year retired law enforcement, now I’m an OO. 8 years driving, a lot more money than my old job. CJ degree is useless. Let us know what your plan is.
You are probably getting paid like shit at Swift! I know at 1 year experience you should be making at-least $2,100 gross or better depending on if you work harder. I saw a guy on UA-cam who jumped ship at swift with like 6mo experience and started making $2k+. Be careful talking about smoking previously if they asked you that question on the application and you didn't answer how you explained here.
There you go another women driver that has no business in a truck her place is at the corporate office working 9to5 not out here putting lives in danger trying to figure out what she is doing

Dedicated usually is better due to consistency. Love the videos another person shedding light on how tough our job can be.

Be safe out there
Tell us more about the criminal justice
To do a few loads a week you better pay cash for a truck. From current experience it’s not much better than a company driver.
be safe and work hard.
Over 3k subs in no time! Ur killin it!
Idk why but something about you is giving me Kehlani vibes...
yes please more vids!🔥😍💯👏nice staying local i would do the same..lookup straight bore trucking!🤑🤑🤑
You are so pretty
Naw fr I smoked heavy too im a yr clean now
Nothin like some good ol truckin to get your life right. You pretty much have to be on the straight and narrow to do this job.
Lol 23 years old and you talkin like your 40. Believe me... you are way ahead of the game. I'm twice your age and just now thinking of getting my cdl.
Business going good? It's been slow in the midwest. Going from 7k+ a week to 3k a week gross.
Happy early birthday
I love driving at night.
😎✊🇲🇽🇺🇸 night drivein is the best...
Hey keep up the good work
Turning 26 😢on November 10th 🎉
Where all my Scorpios at?
what is the difference in pay and mileage between the OTR and the Dedicated hauls? Do you still get 2,000 miles a week? More or less?
Whats the home time like
awesome!
Out of all the places you have been, do you have a favorite state (not necessarily driving)? Some place for a permanent residence.
California or Nevada. I love both

Is it difficult to learn how to read maps ? Or do truckers rely mostly on navigation/gps?

get a crock pot. You can have stuff slow cooking while your driving.
