It’s actually a new plugin I’ve been trying out. Can’t say anything yet but it will be launched soon 🤫 Stay tuned, because I’ll be posting a video about it. 💥
Thanks for these helpful tips! Is there any way to save an adjustment layer after you’ve applied the desired changes, so that you can reuse it in other projects/events?
You could save the effects and changes you’ve made as a preset using the “Save as Effects Preset” button at the bottom of the inspector window. Then you just have to apply that preset to a new adjustment layer. Alternatively, you can export an xml file of the timeline with your adjustment layer and effects applied. Then just import that xml whenever you need it. Hope that helps. 😄🤞🏼
You know, I probably watched you discussing adjustment layers at one time, downloaded the free plugin, then promptly forgot all about it. I turned 65, enjoy your life now my friend, getting older is not for wimps! I’m grateful for all your tips! Geez, just below my comment is another comment from me I don;t remember 😫
Hey Murali! Yeah I’ve been using my Monogram CC every day. I’ve gotten to the point where I feel like I can’t edit without it. I even travel with the console. Are you thinking of picking one up?
@@Brad_WestYes!!, The 3 orbiters are what is attracting me for colour grading etc. Are the orbiters 4 way functions or more for places like color wheels ?
The orbiters are for color grading. You can adjustment brightness and saturation with them and also use the pressure sensitive disc on the middle to push color into your shadows, midtones and highlights. They are so nice for grading 😄👌🏼
Great and thank you. I think you were trying to convince Donna to change the channel name from Brad & Donna to Brad West in train? Is she okay? lol🥰 Anyway all the W(B)EST...
Great tips Brad but tip #5 letter-boxing, I don’t see the advantage of letter-boxing the adjustment clip and then adjusting the clip underneath. You still have to adjust each clip individually and make sure you don’t go too high or low. The traditional way the offset has a limit. Also, if you change your mind and disable the adjustment layer, all the clips that have been adjusted will now be off.
Yeah I hear you. I think neither way is wrong and I guess it depends on your workflow. If I decide to letterbox something, chances are I’m going to keep it that way and not change my mind so for me, applying it across everything on an adjustment layer and only adjustment the position on a few clips that need to be repositioned works best for me. I guess the downside of adding the letterbox effect to individual clips is that you have to copy and paste the effect to everything. If you make any shot changes you have to copy and paste the effect again instead of just dropping the new clip underneath the adjustment layer. Like I said, neither way is wrong and it just comes down to what makes sense for your workflow 😄👍🏼
This is plugin safe to download? I just want to know so I won't get my computer any viruses. I hope I'm being rude by asking. It's better to be safe than sorry.
@@Brad_West Thanks! It means a lot to me that you responded back! I just wanted to get a quick heads up before I downloaded. Also, sorry about the spell error above. I meant to say "I hope I'm NOT being rude", not "I hope I'm being rude." I hope you have a good day!

Great tips! Been using adjustment layer for only colour grading but now thanks to your video I’ll use it for other things as well. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome to hear that Phil! I think color grading is the most common use, but adjustment layers are pretty versatile 😄🙌🏼

o_O Where are "Brad and Donna"?
Still the same Brad, but Donna is moving on to new things. She may make another appearance if we do some travel vlogs again 😉

Not being rude at all. Rather be safe than sorry. It's a simple plugin created using Apple Motion so it's totally safe to download and use 😄👍🏼
