I’ve watched lots of Drew but Leonard really killed this imo, i love the more sculptural element and the combination of organic lines with bright colors! Super playful and beautiful and it would make me happy every time i see it. Loved both styles but as someone with a small space something compact and visually high impact is really appealing to me
I agree!! I wish more people were as enthusiastic about Leonard's bookcase as we are. It's really so beautiful. I love how he used such organic shapes and really elevated it into a statement piece!
Agreed! I happen to love the color he selected too. But I also think it would work in a wide variety of spaces by picking different colors for the overall style. It would look very sophisticated in black in a modern space, for instance. Whereas bright colors would be more edgy, modern or whimsical depending on the decor of the space it's placed in. So versatile.
LOVE THIS COMMENT!! Both are beautiful, I want to replicate Drew’s right now in my living room and I would put Leonard’s in my children’s room. Both beautiful
Maybe I’m being biased but I absolutely loved Drew’s design. It’s so classy and yet attainable as are all his diys. I think that’s what I love most about it. You don’t need fancy tools to replicate it. As always Drew, you outdid yourself 👏🏽
its like comparing apples to oranges, totally different audiences and goals. It turned out completely opposite of what i expected, Leonards is so much more colourful and that was something I expected from Drew lol
OMG! More of these vids, please!!! Drew from Lonefox is my fave DIYer!!! Just discovered Leonard, and wow! Love both, Drew's is more classy, Leonard's quirky, but both went above and beyond! This video made my day!!! 💙👍
First of all I love them both??? They're so sweet and chill. Second, awesome results! Leonard made a very like statement piece, bright, bold, shiny, and Drew made something that's more neutral but with personality. Ugh, love both styles.
I came from Drew's channel and expected nothing but awesomeness and he delivered! But I also like how fun and unique Leonard's piece turned out! It's like they feed into two different aspects of my personalities: one a sophisticated adult who wants a calming space and the other one a fun loving kid who wants all the great colors in the world. So much talent, both of them!
These are both incredible. Great artists and helps inspire me how to elevate “basic” furniture with design, no need to always buy designer, and a way to give furniture new life and keep some of it out of landfills. Thanks AD for sharing/creating this.
Awww, I love it when a UA-camr starts to get known in an industry! I've been watching Lone Fox for awhile and he's the most sweetest and I'm so happy AD choose him for this!
Leonard's was my favorite because it was very warm and dynamic - and stronger, so it can hold more/heavier books! Drew's was nice too. I think I could see it working in a variety of spaces in different colors, like a dusky blue to bring it out against the white room.
Drew always comes through with such gorgeous projects that look like they could easily be $$$ but are actually really affordable. Loved both bookcases 🙌🏾
I love how their personalities reflect in their work. They both produced stunning pieces. I've always been a fan of Drew and I have watched him on his channel (Lone Fox) for a few years now. It's incredible how far he has come, and he deserves every bit of success. Drew's aesthetic is more of my style but both pieces are works of art. ✌️
Leonard’s bookcase reminded me of a piece of furniture from HAY Design or DWR, while Drew’s looked like a piece from Cb2 or Crate and Barrel. Both put their flare on it! I’m really impressed!
I LOVED this!!!!! Seriously. Best of all was the end part/reveal where each designer gets to see the other's project and they were so lovely with each other! THAT was heart warming (I am sick to death of stupidly competitive behaviour). This was wonderful!
Both are stunning. I would buy Drew’s immediately as that is my kind of style. But I would also buy Leonard’s to place somewhere as a special statement piece. The creativity is out of this world.
Wow both came out amazing but I have to say, Drewwwww! That shelf looks like it came from a high-end store! Love the color you used, the design and the size! It looks grand!
OMG!!! I love both of these. I love how both of them shared their design and reconstruction steps, including useful tips. I generally love Drew's projects. This one is certainly not an exception to that. The lines, and texture the wrapping material added are awesome. I also appreciated how he decided to change the overall shape of it. But Leonard's unit is so incredible. I love how he shared tips on how to deal with a material that can be a bit difficult. How he explained that some steps were adding structural value as well as contributing to his design ideas.
I am obsessed with both! Leonard’s fits the vibe of my home perfectly with the funky lines and the incredible color but I could see Drew’s being sold on CB2 like Leonard said! I have rewatched Leonard’s reveal about five times it is SO COOL. I love this!!
So happy for Drew. This AD feature will open him to a whole new audience. I used to watch his fashion vids as well but he didn't seem as fulfilled as he now seems with his LF channel. Good for him!
I'm so proud of your project! Most of all, my heart was smiling at the dialogue you and Steve had about each other's projects. With all the unsettling news we hear every day, it was refreshing to hear two artist complementing each other in a genuine way.
Love them both, it just depends on whatever works in your space. That said, Leonards is my favorite for two reasons, it almost looks like it is in motion, he added strength to the connectors (I have lots of heavy books:) and he replaced the back by using one solid piece of masonite instead of foldable ~cardboard~. Since I am not afraid of color - Leonard's piece would match my walls... I'm a big fan of Drew's, love a lot of his DIY's and cool ideas - and yeah, not everyone has power tools, but I will try the Shellac on my kitchen cabinets - thanks for your inspiration boys - well done!
Loved this! I can't even decide which one I liked better in the end, but just very interesting to see how differently they approach the same project based on experience, training and style
I like Drew's best, but i agree that it was fascinating to see each one approach the same object to come up with two distinctly different designs! Loved this vid!!
I love Drew's so much, definitely something I would put up in my home. It's easy on the eyes and easy to style too. I love it! As someone with a small space, I prefer neutral pieces with texture in order to brighten up my home and make it appear larger than it is.
Loved Drew's design... however Leonard's grew on me after he staged it!!! I could see Leonard's bookcase in my book living room...and Drew's definitely in my bedroom. Perhaps, production of these are in the making... I would love to see AD do MORE of this type of videos @!
Very cool! I would've loved it if Drew's sides worked like a roll top, revealing two hidden sets of shelves for stowing away all those things that you want close by but not visible!
I loved both of the projects, but I can see myself actually being able to make Drew's! I want that in my home. Drew what color is that paint??? So gorgeous!!!
I love the style and look of Drew's piece! Such a cool texture, and the classic color would fit in any home. I do wish you could open the sides though--if they could open and close magnetically, they'd make some great additional shelf storage. Leonard's piece is so fun and vibrant! A very risky choice to paint it a flat orange, but then it looks so classy after he styles it. It's walking a fine line between kid's playroom and eclectic, quirky adult. It could be quite the versatile piece! This was so fun to watch!!
Drew in high production content is so satisfying. His normal production still is, but when someone else shoots him, he looks magical! Also, loved both book cases. The contrasts to their approach are great, really speaks to different audiences and visually interesting. This is my first time learning about Leonard, and I loved his practical and professional approach paired with his educational additions.
Thanks to Drew for the tip about pole wrap, and to Leonard for the info about that use for shellac! Honestly, these are both wonderful, so it would depend on which room I needed the shelf for. Leonard's would work in my music room, and Drew's design would look great in the current living room.
So proud of drew! I’ve been watching him since his old apartment lol drew us an incredible designer and he’s such a hard worker! And Leonard is a complete artist! Loved this series
Both bookcases are gorgeous. Never would’ve guessed that they started life as IKEA Billy bookcases. I’d watch a whole show with either or both of these designers. Great work.
They're both so beautiful, would love something like this as a series with varied designers! I love that they're both appreciative of each others work, no need to compete, and how each described the process accessibly to the viewers (so jealous of Leonard's workshop) so that they can potentially achieve something similar if they wanted to at home.
I loved watching Leonard work! He didn't seem anxious or anything, he kinda just slid into this creative land he lives in. Drew also made something fantastic!
Drew (@Lone Fox) I am so stoked that you did this project. I have always loved your funky but attainable style and your creativity in transforming simple to unique. I really love your bookcase and that column wrap? oh pole wrap - that stuff is awesome. I'm seeing faux shiplap or beaded panel on the bottom of my walls... and Leonard, wow, that design was awesome. I was looking at it at first thinking he cheated - he did not use the BILLY, lol. Kudos to you for creating something that literally defied its origins. Both of you guys created amazing projects!!!
Wow...both shelfs are just beautiful. I sometimes DIY a little bit by myself (whenever it's necessary again to come up with a storage idea in my 2-room 41sqm. apartment) but in none of my dreams I would have such an idea. Both of them did just great though I prefer Drew's, because I like the clean-line design and the discreet color. I'm a huge Bauhaus fan and Drew's idea comes close to this concept.
I am a huge fan of Drew’s and I loved his shelf but I have such a huge appreciation for Leonard’s craftsmanship and how he just took the shelf apart and put it back into something else😦 but both styles resonate much with who they are as creators.
I'm here for Drew and love this design. But wow! I admit I would be more likely to replicate Leonard's design for my own setting. And shellac - we need more deets!
Totally love that 2 people with different backgrounds in designing/making furniture (Drew is diy, became big trew YT & very clever & budgetfriendly diy makeovers etc & Leonard is a furniture designer (by studie i gues) So the approtche is very different, how they see the same furniture is different but even more so the "i see this & going to end with that" is so different Yea really good episode this 1! Love both bookcases I would go for Drew's but in Leonard colorchoice Have a lovely new week everyone reading this 🌻
This was an amazing transportation. Both pieces are wonderful! I have to say I prefer yours drew because its something I would choose for myself. You can't even tell it was a IKEA piece. So cool.

it’s a normal comment,, you’re just bothered for no reason? lol
I love them both! I especially love how Leonard explains the materials he uses and why he does certain things. I learned a lot
Omg DREW !!!! Luv me some Lone Fox !!! Someone please give this kid his own TV show! He is so hard-working and fabulous.
I agree 😉❤️
I see Drew’s selling on CB2 and Leonard’s selling at Urban Outfitters . Both designs are EXCELLENT! Wow.. they did their THANG WITH THIS 🤩🤩🤩
Definitely agree! And I would shop both because they are giving vibes
LOVE THIS COMMENT!! Both are beautiful, I want to replicate Drew’s right now in my living room and I would put Leonard’s in my children’s room. Both beautiful
Have they made this a series? I love seeing how different creative people channel their art in different ways, this was great!
I need to buy this from drew NOW!!
@gottmik me first!! Miss u
OMG ok gottmik😍😍😍
WOW! YES 💕 love you 😍 Gottmik!!!
Hey gorge! 😘
SIs I have the recipt
Leonard’s bookcase is an art! And Drew’s looks soo him, looks really good. Good job both of you🤍
omg drew!! ur living the dream!
Maybe I’m being biased but I absolutely loved Drew’s design. It’s so classy and yet attainable as are all his diys. I think that’s what I love most about it. You don’t need fancy tools to replicate it. As always Drew, you outdid yourself 👏🏽
And takes up so much space
I need TWO of Drew's creation. This is so high end. AMAZING!
Right? I am already trying to find a free weekend for all that painting.
its like comparing apples to oranges, totally different audiences and goals.
Mine too
LOVE, LOVE when we get to see 2 designers take the same item & go in opposite directions to make something beautiful out of it. Do more- please!
We need more episodes from these two. Creative and entertaining
Completely Agree!!!
Totally agree. They are both so talented.
Not sure how I feel about either design, but I appreciate Leonard's technical knowledge and ability and Drew's creativeness and fun energy.
I love that Leonard could give Drew so much credit. Really beautiful dynamic!
Both were amazing!!!!! Loved seeing how different their personal styles are and the resulting pieces are just so great!!! Can't even pick a favourite
Awww, I love it when a UA-camr starts to get known in an industry! I've been watching Lone Fox for awhile and he's the most sweetest and I'm so happy AD choose him for this!
Drew's design is brilliant! Beautiful.
I agree
@@delanascott8890
Hi Drew's mom! We love him! 😘
Elegant and sophisticated. I love it.
Leonard's was my favorite because it was very warm and dynamic - and stronger, so it can hold more/heavier books! Drew's was nice too. I think I could see it working in a variety of spaces in different colors, like a dusky blue to bring it out against the white room.
It’s interesting that you think Leonards could hold more books, considering he literally cut away at the shelves? Whats the reasoning behind that?
Loved both of these as they are so different. Drew's clean, simple and elegant and Leonard's has movement and is more organic.
Drew always comes through with such gorgeous projects that look like they could easily be $$$ but are actually really affordable. Loved both bookcases 🙌🏾
LEONARD THIS COLOOOR omg both these pieces turned out amazing and I loved the shapes on the sides that Leonard made that emulates feets, brilliant job
I love both of their designs. Hoping that they'll be invited again . More of this pls ❤️
Leonard’s bookcase reminded me of a piece of furniture from HAY Design or DWR, while Drew’s looked like a piece from Cb2 or Crate and Barrel. Both put their flare on it! I’m really impressed!
From the thumbnail alone, I immediately chose Leonard's bookcase. It has so much character! I love it!
i love seeing these types of videos! very educational and different from what we commonly see (celeb house tours).. keep making more of these, AD!!
I LOVED this!!!!! Seriously. Best of all was the end part/reveal where each designer gets to see the other's project and they were so lovely with each other! THAT was heart warming (I am sick to death of stupidly competitive behaviour). This was wonderful!
Drew - you smashed it! I’m so proud!! They were both so fab but yours is just so chic and simple
Same, when it was in context, wow looked amazing, quirky and unique.
Very cool! I would've loved it if Drew's sides worked like a roll top, revealing two hidden sets of shelves for stowing away all those things that you want close by but not visible!
Can we talk about how good Drew`s one looks like!? OMG! Love it!
These both turned out gorgeous
I loved both of the projects, but I can see myself actually being able to make Drew's! I want that in my home. Drew what color is that paint??? So gorgeous!!!
Exactly!
Loved both projects so much! The interaction between the two was also so nice and supportive. Please let these two work together more often!
Yay Lone fox family represent! Great job drew, would love this in my living room. Leonard’s is amazingly creative too.
Thanks to Drew for the tip about pole wrap, and to Leonard for the info about that use for shellac!
Honestly, these are both wonderful, so it would depend on which room I needed the shelf for. Leonard's would work in my music room, and Drew's design would look great in the current living room.
Both projects are simply amazing…love the techniques used in both bookcases ❤️❤️❤️
So proud of drew! I’ve been watching him since his old apartment lol drew us an incredible designer and he’s such a hard worker! And Leonard is a complete artist! Loved this series
I SCREAMED when I saw Drew. He deserves THE WORLD.
Oh, these are both fabulous (and so many great tips shared from you both). Great job!! 👏👏👏
Drew you NEED your own line at CB2 or Target. They are sleeping on you and I know every item for a LoneFox X CB2/TARGET would be sold out instantly.
Agreed! Put me on the waitlist at either store if Drew ever does a collaboration 🤩
Yes!
Both bookcases are gorgeous. Never would’ve guessed that they started life as IKEA Billy bookcases. I’d watch a whole show with either or both of these designers. Great work.
Drew!!! So happy for you and this opportunity!!! Both of the bookcases turned out great 😌
They're both so beautiful, would love something like this as a series with varied designers! I love that they're both appreciative of each others work, no need to compete, and how each described the process accessibly to the viewers (so jealous of Leonard's workshop) so that they can potentially achieve something similar if they wanted to at home.
Brilliant! More of Drew and Leonard, please!
Love both these designers. So good to see Drew show off his DIY style with an artisan like Leonard.
Both turn out amazing! It’s so inspiring to watch them transform the ikea bookshelves.
I loved watching Leonard work! He didn't seem anxious or anything, he kinda just slid into this creative land he lives in. Drew also made something fantastic!
Wow Drew! You are always out doing yourself. Love the finished bookcase. It's something I would put in my home!
Both bookcases are beautiful, but I love Drew's style better.
Hello Diana, how are you doing?
Drew (@Lone Fox) I am so stoked that you did this project. I have always loved your funky but attainable style and your creativity in transforming simple to unique. I really love your bookcase and that column wrap? oh pole wrap - that stuff is awesome. I'm seeing faux shiplap or beaded panel on the bottom of my walls...
and Leonard, wow, that design was awesome. I was looking at it at first thinking he cheated - he did not use the BILLY, lol. Kudos to you for creating something that literally defied its origins.
Both of you guys created amazing projects!!!
Ive LOVEEED drew forever and it’s so cool seeing him get recognition on a big platform 🦋🦋
Leonard made my dream bookcase 🌸✨
Shellac is amazing. It also seals bad smells so it's brilliant when you're renovating a place or object that smells of tobacco or had water damage.
I was having trouble visualizing Leonard’s bookcase but when I saw it in the space WOW. it is SO high impact. Love.
Such an amazing segment! Loved seeing both transformations. Fantastic work by both Drew & Leonard!
Totally love that 2 people with different backgrounds in designing/making furniture (Drew is diy, became big trew YT & very clever & budgetfriendly diy makeovers etc & Leonard is a furniture designer (by studie i gues)
So the approtche is very different, how they see the same furniture is different but even more so the "i see this & going to end with that" is so different
Yea really good episode this 1! Love both bookcases
I would go for Drew's but in Leonard colorchoice
Have a lovely new week everyone reading this 🌻
This was an amazing transportation. Both pieces are wonderful! I have to say I prefer yours drew because its something I would choose for myself. You can't even tell it was a IKEA piece. So cool.
The book cases came out fantastic each was so different. I loved them both. For Drew only having a few tools he did a professional job.
