    So with this I have just resolved this leaking issue which has been ongoing for 5-10 years. According to my father it was supposed to be more complicated with the tube being leaking or broken somewhere under the driving seat. I have been preparing to take out the carpet and seat to check under.
    You have no idea how grateful I am for finding your video now.
    Thank you 🙏

      You need to remove the torx screws that hold the wheel arch liner in place, then bend it back slightly and test with a friend and watch where it leaks. I'm sure I show this in the video. If it is leaking from the bottle itself then that will need replacing. I will do a video on this :-)

      I seem to remember from the rear hatch it goes down the left side at the rear seats then goes across to either to the middle or right side I think. There is a join rear seat left C pillar which could have come apart and water may run down to front from there. Or it's running down the fire wall bulkhead and into the passenger foot-well.

    Hi, what do you recommend if when clicking the connection back together as at 2:00 doesn't give a tight seal? I'm finding some leakage still occurs at the connection point when clipped back together. Some still reaches the back windscreen though.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Рік тому

      Well, as I said I wouldn't recommend putting zip ties on which do hold the connection together better, but with a caveat that making this joint solid other ones inside the car blow off. So IMHO I would only replace this connector if it leaks :-)

      First check the fuse, then power to the rear motor. ua-cam.com/video/1kvv9H3ZG70/v-deo.html. If power suspect motor unit/conection. no power switch stalk maybe damaged/replace or wiring, check continuity to/from voltage control unit (need wiring diagram). I am planning to do a video on replaceing the stalk arm switches.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  9 місяців тому

      With the front one I think it will be clocked as the nozzles on these do block. I would take off from effected nozzle and activate jets to see if there is water coming through pipe, if it does then change the nozzle for an OEM new one. If now water then you will have to trace back to where it is blocked or detached. let me know how you get on :-)

  • @goiko999
    @goiko999 Рік тому

    Great video, thanks, but can you explain this please? In my case both front and back are spraying OK, but there is a slow leak dripping from in front of the left wheel. 1 drip per minute, it seems.
    But when it first ran out out quicker than expected and I topped it up again it appeared to be full after putting less than 2 litres in. Used to take much more (3.5 litres?). Does that make any sense? I'm confused!

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Рік тому

      Maybe if the bottle has frozen it would only take a smaller amount to fill it. You must put in screen wash to prevent this. Also, this would explain the drips as it will be under more pressure to pump whatever water has not frozen, if you get my point. It may be only partly frozen. You can access the bottle by removing the liner screws and bending back a bit. Check the pump isn't loose in the bottle rubber seal etc. Hope this helps :-)

    • @goiko999
      @goiko999 Рік тому

      @@HatBoyHarvey Many thanks for your quick reply, much appreciated. I did wonder if it was frozen at first when it wouldn't spray, and was surprised that after topping it up it worked immediately before running out, but your reply suggests maybe there's a logic to that.
      It now drips slowly but constantly, and I notice when spraying the liquid then pours down from the tube above the left front wheel.
      In my case it's difficult to get the wheel arch cover off properly, but it looks like the problem is higher up anyway and is more tricky to get to, so maybe it's not something I can do myself, and would need to be put on a ramp somewhere. At first I was thinking the bottle itself would need to be replaced, but your video suggests it's the lines / tubes. Just worried about the cost now and how long/messy a job it will be.

    • @goiko999
      @goiko999 Рік тому +1

      Oh. Local garage looked at it immediately (to my surprise) for me. Said the pump was leaking and replaced it, total cost £61. Was relieved as I was braced for a much higher figure to resolve it (reservoir split or difficult to get to the source of the problem). Still can't quite understand why the leak seemed to be coming from above the wheel rather than the bottom of the wheel arch cover though. Thanks again.

    Hi I have a leak in the rear passenger footwell and boot, would this be the washer fluid pipe? If so can I fix it or will I need to drop it in the garage

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  6 місяців тому

      The fabia suffers from the rear footwell leaking water in from the door, but this wouldn't explain why you have water in the boot. If you haven't done the fix for this then maybe look at my video on that first: ua-cam.com/video/0PjhoU1gEwk/v-deo.html. after that have a look @: ua-cam.com/video/2nfKzxZUelY/v-deo.html video on removing the C Pillar lower panel to get access to the jet wash pipe joint that also can leak. Also you may need to remove the tailgate panel and the upper C pillar panel if the pipe leaks there. Tailgate panel removal: ua-cam.com/video/1kvv9H3ZG70/v-deo.html. It comes into the tailgate at the top by the hinge and it could have split there with the movement of the tailgate. ua-cam.com/video/PoJBfpTJWJk/v-deo.html video shows how to take off the upper C panel. Hope these help. I'm sure you can fix it without needing the expense of a garage. leave the garage for more serious issues that may come up in the future. Good luck and let me know how you get on :-)

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Рік тому

      Try fuse 32. It is very cold at the moment, have you looked at the nozzles for freezing? is the screen wash fluid mix sufficiently protected with anti-freeze? Pump and lever switch/connections can fail.

    What could be the reason for the rear wiper not working at all?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  2 роки тому +1

      You should test the cable going to it to see if there is power there. Check the fuse, and look into cleaning the wiper arm switch by using electrical spray with the battery disconnected first and dry it out. They can clog up with dust. not very often the motor breaks or relays fail, but could have jambed, so try helping it by hand whilst someone activates the switch and use penetrating fluid on the shaft. hope this helps, let me know when you get it working and what it was :-)
