    Hi. This is somewhat helpful, particularly in how to remove the motor from the wiper arm.
    I have a MK2 Octavia Combi with a non-working wiperarm. How can I find out wether the motor is dead or just seized up and in some need of cleaning and greasing up?
    Thanks :)

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 роки тому +3

      If there is corrosion on and around the shaft then this usually with give signs of seizure, but the internal mechanism can get jammed also. Free up the shaft by attaching something like mole grips, move it back and forth, add penetrating fluid and then thin oil. If no luck then possibly the internal mech has jammed and will need stripping down. Once free you should be able to see if attaching voltage will get the motor working.

    Do you know where can I find washing nozzle for rear window for Skoda Fabia Combi Mk1 6y5? I've looked everywhere on the internet and found nothing. Yes, I would brush any rust off frst then use that, let it soak half an hour then re-apply and leave overnight. it then be loose enough to waggle out the jet and dis-assemble the wiper arm from the bracket, clean and re-build :-)

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  27 днів тому

      if you mean the front windscreen - have a look @: ua-cam.com/users/shortsVmKBQ8BQK8w?feature=share if you don't want to take of the scuttle panel and wipers you can bend it a bit to fit new nozzle units. Don't be tempted to try and clean out the centre rectangular nozzle bit as this will IMHO and experience make it worse, so too cheap copies off eBay etc. Fit only OEM nozzles in this instance. They rear just pulls out, but may be seized in with rust - use pliers, grip, pull, remove, clean out pipe and fit a new, one adjust and go :-)

    Hi, jet nuzzle is broken on my car and one part of it left stucked inside the hole(thin part). I can't get it out to replace it with a new one, any advice how to remove it, without damaging wiper motor?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Рік тому +1

      First thoughts would be penetrating fluid, but then it may be totally stuck there so drilling it out and then activating the wash to force the bits out may remove the jet bit, but then can you source another new one or from another car? Maybe a scrapper !

    The nozzle got broken inside the schaft. Any idea how to get the broken part out, as it’s very small?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  6 місяців тому

      If the shaft broke off presumably the centre hole will now be exposed so some sort of metal hook would now fit down the centre then pull it out. If you can't do that then a small sharp self-tapping screw screwed into the end to then draw it out. :-)

    Was yours not working before you did this job ? Interested to know as mine has stopped working recently 😮

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Рік тому

      What is not working, is it the water jet or the motor? The water jet nozzle gets blocked and the pipe often comes loose at either the connection under the front of the car or under the rear seat c pillar or back of motor. If motor then after checking the fuse have a look at the wires going into the tailgate for chaffing and the connections on the motor, test for Voltage at the motor also control arm switching stalk on steering column.

    How do you remove this plastic back, is there any way without destroying it?
    I don't have luck with this type of stupid installation. they should use screws. only place when I didn't broke it is small fuse panel, everywhere else I broke it. I watched few videos when people remove it from the trunk and it looks simple you just pull, I was using metal pry bar and it didn't go, hands dont do a thing.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  5 місяців тому +1

      You have to position your pry tool next to each clip otherwise the plastic mount can break. I use a long heavy flat screwdriver and a torch to locate them. Take your time, once you disconnect a few the rest get easier :-)

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  2 роки тому

      Jack up the car, take the wheel off under-tray and inner liner, take the clip off, tie some strap to the pipe and pull. Basically take everything off that is in the way to get to it and use a long large flat screwdriver for the clip (I seem to remember using a flat angle screwdriver with a bent end) I know it isn't easy and mine is even harder with spring clips where you need pipe pliers. I will look into doing a video on mine when I take the intake manifold off to clean again. Hope this helps :-)
