Thank you for taking the time to go through your whole process. Very instructive for a beginner to scroll sawing. Cheers!

Solution to your pilot hole dilemma.... Drill the hole in the part of the drawer that gets cut out and thrown away. Thought of that half way through my current box, sure it will work though. The pattern you used in this video was the same I used for my first bandsaw box I made the pulls look like an emoji face😊

It took me 12 minutes before I noticed your T-shirt. Perhaps the title could have been Critical Scroll... ?

Sand less and gaps would be better. Stack cutting

Great looking box! What type of double sided glue did you use?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. I used regular yellow wood glue throughout the entire project (although for something like this white glue would probably work well, also). I put blue painter's tape on the wood then use a glue stick to attach the scroll pattern to the tape. (The tape helps lubricate the scroll saw blade and allows for cleaner cuts.) I use thin double-side tape with a peel-off backing to attach multiple layers of wood together if I need to scroll them at the same time.
      Hope that helped.

What size Dewalt clamps are those that you are using? Nice job on the box.

Fairly small ones, but not the little tiny ones. 6 or 8 inch, I think.

Why did you use a size 2 blade for the inside and a 9 for the outside on the same thickness wood?

I used the size 2 blade on the inside to minimize the size of the hole I had to drill into the work piece. I used the number 9 blade on the outside hoping it would make cutting through the thicker wood easier, but I didn't notice much difference, and, if I were doing it again, would probably go with a number 7 or even leave in the number 2 and go very slowly.

how long from start to finish would this project take nice work

Thank you! I don't remember exactly how long this took, but based on the video I'm guessing it was a day's work, although a significant amount of that time was spent waiting for glue to dry. You could easily knock this out in a weekend.

I used a pattern I found in 'Box-Making Projects for the Scroll Saw' by Gary MacKay.
