hello, doctor, I have had an osteoma since the beginning of my forties (I was about 12- 13 years old) I had an operation (the osteoma is on the right cheekbone between my eye and the cheekbone) it has grown back. My doctor (the one who operated on me) was injecting me with something after the operation, he stopped doing it and it grew back, it's been a year after that, I went to another doctor. The other doctor said they should I think remove the bone since it was possibly infected and that's why it kept growing, so they would change it for cartilage, We went to see another doctor who was not really specialized in the subject but was the minister of health where I live. He gave me some medications that I have been taking for about a year (xumer and caprimide D), So that's what my parents decided and I'm still taking those two, the problem is that I think the osteoma continues to grow, I still have the osteoma and I really don't know what to do, with my parents we have thought in going to another country since my country is not good in medicine or anything like that sadly, please give me any recommendation of a specialist or suggestion about the case, I know that asking questions without consulting is not good maybe, but please tell me what you think or if you recommend going somewhere, thank you very much

Hi, I'm from the Philippines and I had an osteoma removed. You can ask a cosmetic surgeon about it. If you have an HMO, like MaxiCare, they will cover the hospital expenses but not the professional fee. I paid around Php20k for the surgeon. Hope this helps!

I have osteoma on my forehead and I really want it removed but doctor told me there is a chance of osteoma growing back after the surgery. Is it true and if yes what are the chances?
I guess it is possible, but I have never seen on I removed grow back

Sorry I can not give medical advice. Osteomas do not usually change in size in my experience. You should see your doctor.

First you need a CT scan or xray to verify it is osteoma. Then I need to see pictures.

I have hit my forehead hard once against a pole and had some swelling which most went away but I notice I still have 1 inch line or bump after many years. Is this considered to be blood leftover, hematoma, osteoma, or scar tissue or bone? Can it be removed using a needle or massage or it has to be surgery?
Impossible to say without and XR or CT and examination.
@@jniamtuiii They did an ultrasound and said it is scar tissue and gave some scar cream and recommend micro needling. I mean what else could you have other than scar tissue after someone bangs his head hard?

Most bumps are cysts or lipomas and they are usually soft.

On my patients it is not unusual to have swelling for a while. You need to consult with your surgeon.

@@12stem2d-arenasjoseph5 Nope, it's a bone kasi. It really has to be extracted. Make sure na it's an osteoma, it's hard and hindi nagagalaw. If malambot sya and nagagalaw, it could be a cyst. Better consult a surgeon. 😊
Does this surgeral procedure cost alot? I'm from NYC and I believe I've been living with that bump on my forehead as well for several years, just paid it no mind. But now I'm concern n convinced I may need this work done too. Is it only in Virginia? And does your health insurance cover the cost?

It can, but usually not severe in my experience
I got hit my forehead against a wall when I was young and now I have a bump on my forhead…is it a osteoma ? And if it is…it has been like 9-10 years now…can it be removed?
You would have to have CT scan or xray to confirm it is osteoma, then, yes, it can generally be removed.

Does this operation leave any scars? The issue i have is that I am bald so 'hair' can't hide it no matter how small the incision is. Also can it be done while a patient is KOed rather than awake?

I saw the cost online that is estimated at $4800 but there was also the surgery center fee at the bottom and I didn’t see a cost for the CT scan. Hey doc I have a bump on my forehead it doesn't move with skin and is hard and doesn't even pain. I did a CT scan and its showing as tissue not bone so that means it is not osteoma than what else it can be i am so confused it doesn't even move like lipoma do

is it possible to do the ct scan in your clinic and have the surgery on the same day?
Depends how high on your forehead it is. My scanner only goes up to about the mid forehead. You would have to come the day before. Best to do in advance so we know what we are dealing with.
