Thank you for this tutorial! I've always been interested in the collections tab but thought it was going to be so much more difficult and time consuming. It looks pretty easy though, maybe still a little time consuming but it will make finding things go a lot faster. Thanks again!

I just binged watched the entire Sims 3 101.....
You can also add different pre-sets of the same object to a collection, and they'll appear as separate objects in the collection file.
I love collections! I use them for all my Custom content! What an amazing tutorial!!

It makes things much easier! The best part is that it is very easy to update the collections whenever you install new content!
Just discovered Collections in the Alune Island Nate Bay house. Instantly makes a tutorial. I love it James. Youre amazing :D

I'm shattered to find this out now with the Sims 4 almost upon us. This is such fantastically useful information and I never knew. At least it might give me a bit more of an insight into what might be possible with the Sims 4. Thanks for making this really helpful video. The game should have a better tutorial, because I think a lot of players missed out on this valuable bit of information.
I love this type of video. There is so much I still don't know about Sims 3.

I do hope EA store sets come with a collection file so that I don't need to create collections manually, and sometimes it is so hard to pick all the matching pieces from different categories. Thanks for making this video!

I noticed this was the last tutorial in this playlist. You used to have a tutorial on how to connect a swimming pool with a basement room. I can't find it anywhere now! Could you do a new tutorial for it or re-upload it? Thank you!

I've asked this before so sorry if you just don't want to do it but I'd love to see a video with tips on how to place windows. When I place two different windows they just look out of place and it ruins the whole building :')
Hey man, great tutorials you've got. Feel like doing one for an underwater basement or house surrounded by water? Don't really know what the possibilities are using lakes and/or swimming pools. Not too many tutorials out there I can bear to watch :-).

Hi James! I have a problem with the collection files. I spent hours creating collections out of my misc folder. Even when I saved a couple of times and my game ending up crashing.. all collections I made vanished. it happens every time again.. I'm so frustrated 😤 do you know why it does this? it appears that they are in the sims 3 docs folder but they don't show up.
Can you show us how to use SetImportedTerrainOffset (values) properly? It seems no one has a tutorial on house to use it

James, can you finish the aluna island with houses and AI's because I dont know how to put any AI's in the island
If you play the game normally for a while the game's story progression should populate Aluna Island on it's own.
Please answer this if you can!! My collections don't work some of the items don't work when I click them. I've already sorted a category for my collection and out all the stuff into it. But now they don't work some items I can click and place and some do nothing when clicked
What if I have something that is of a modified color? How can I add that to a collection?
ShootingStarAJM I would like to know as well! I made a room with colors and designs I picked out, but I want to save the design before I move a new sim into the room. Thanks!
ShootingStarAJM Oh! I figured it out! Ok, so take the color changing tool and select the item you want. When you do that, an assortment of pre-made colors should come up, and on that little menu hit the "save" button, it will save your design! then you can choose that design to save to a collection :)

HuskeyLover16 me neither, i only use lip gloss to make myself feel fabulous.. really, the only times i get out of the house are birthday parties, and there i eat cake and stuff, so its no use to put lip gloss on..
I tried using collections but every time i restart the game, my collections disappear, and i don't know why...
