The doppelganger may have killed Alister, but she was being used as a puppet. Inside, she is still Lara, hence why her response to Lara when she asked what she would do with free will "What would you do?". If given free will before, she would never have blown up the manor nor killed Alister, those were Amanda's orders. Yet, what is beautiful is how far Lara's compassion stretches, from letting Amanda live to the doppelganger. Given free will, she is the same, but with superpowers of course lol. So, I feel Lara was right to let her go. Natla giving the suicide order was just cruel.
@@silverknight1740 Yeah, but taking her boot off wouldn't save her in this case lol. Plus the freezing weather wouldn't do the bullet wound any good...
The thing is if someone programmed a computer to dispense a poisonous gas throughout a facility you wouldn't blame the computer for it. You would blame the person who did the programming. In this case the doppelganger was the computer and Natla was the programmer. I wished (and I still do) that they had done something more with her. That alternate ending messed me up lol with Amanda trying to kill Lara with a freaking rock in the middle of snow and icy nowhere. It just undones everything that happened earlier about Amanda choosing to give Lara a hand so they both survive, when she could have just saved herself and their altercation afterwards which was a pretty good ending to their relationship. Also Amanda surely wouldn't be stupid enough to think she could run up on Lara with a bad leg and kill her just like that. And what would she even acomplish by killing her right there, it would be more logical if she asked Lara to help her get the hell out of there as I don't see how she would have done it on her own. The only way I can understand this is if Amanda had a death wish and felt like she had nothing left to lose and live for and also probably was too proud and bitter to ask Lara for help so she wanted to kill or at least KO her so that she can 1) steal whatever transportation vehacle Lara had and get the hell out of there or 2) Amanda realised she would probably die there and wanted Lara dead too. It's actually a pretty good ending the more I think about it.
She did ask amanda the question "would killing me make us even" amanda probably made up her mind and chose killing her anyways. It's always been her personal vendetta right from the start. And lara gave her a chance even though she killed alister. Atleast lara got her revenge though.
You guys are talking about that ending as if it were canon. It's not. You can't see it through normal gameplay, it was hacked out of the game. It's hidden for a reason.
yea, every tomb raider has supernatural stuff, but i think Abel Villa is talking about the fact that in Underworld you can use magical gloves and a hammer and in legend you can use a magical sword
Thats what made this game in a way feel kinda empty and isolated. They said people "complained" that they talked too much in Legends. I for one enjoyed it. It was basically like an in-game cutscene during gameplay. But with her in Underworld recording with an HD hand camera talking to herself vs the superior headset technology she had before was a bad choice.
If you compare the graphics from this game with other games made this year, you'll realize it was amazing. Probably under the 5 best of this year (ME1, for instance, was nothing in comparison). The problem was that they didn't spend much effort in the story as everything in it, starting with Natla's reappearance or Lara's doppelganger or Amanda, is so pointless. It actually makes no sense and hasn't much to do with Tomb Raider, which should be rather about exploring tombs like the original Tomb Raider. And the fact that this game is so short and glitchy is what kills it. Lara is my favorite in this game, even better than the younger Lara from the newer games who is also great, the game made mostly fun, but once again Eidos, now Square Enix, forced the developers to release the game before it was finished. The game had needed at least twice the amount of time and effort to become a decent game that Lara's movements were playable, to fix all those bugs, and to create more levels. Now we have an unfinished game with the best and sexiest Lara ever, that looks wonderful and once again has this special Cyrstal Dynamics flare that is way better than what Core made with her, but it's glitchy, the story is just weird, and it's way too short.
