- “Teen Town” for Hiram Bullock - Jamming on this Jaco Pastorius classic with my long-time bass brother Darryl Jones, along with a crazy fun band of killer players was big fun, as we honored Hiram Bullock. Oz Noy on guitar, Kenwood Dennard on drums, David Mann on alto, Clifford Carter and Delmar Brown on keys. We all knew Hiram, most of us knew Jaco pretty well and admired and loved them both tremendously. THERE WAS NO REHEARSAL- It was strictly the honor system, so some “bad” notes were intentional, some unintended. If you hear any clams- it’s probably me 😛….thanks to Steven Sternick for putting the footage together. Recorded by Ken Freeman. The well-attended event was organized by Sandrine Lee, Jennifer Armstrong, and others. It featured tons of great artists and gave us all a chance to show some love. #thisboyslife

Best Bass Duo tHEy 2gether
Yowwwww! MISS HIRAM & JACO ALWAYS(Thumbs bent back - but not very far...) and Who Loves you guys? ? ? WE DO!
Jaco,s looking down from Heaven smiling!😊
I never thought I'd hear a "relaxed" version of Teen Town - let alone a version so funky hot that it'd melt your face off. But I should've known that if Will and Darryl are involved, it'd be JUST that - and then some! I sat here and danced to "Teen Town". GROOVE ON, Gentlemen!
This brings back 1980's memories of Hiram, Jaco, Kenwood, Delmar and Mike Stern and some seriously wild jams at the (now defunct?) Grand Street Bar and Grill off West Broadway in Soho. Mike Stern lived upstairs so between sets they'd go upstairs to chill out, then get down to play some seriously heavy jams.
Glorious!
So great !!!! Thank you Will!!!
What fun. More please!
Keeping the memory of Jaco, Josef and Weather Report alive, awesome!!!
Wow. Awesome. Thank you so much for that.
so freakin' good.
Muito bom. Som de qualidade.
Wouaou, what a pleasure!
Absolutely LOVE this, thankyou so much for posting
So nice! Pro job!
So good! So fine! To blow in tune and in time!!
Amazing how Kenwood filled in for both drums and percussion parts!
Wow that is way cool. I have never seen two bassists do this. Such high caliber players.
Brilliant!
Love it Bro. Will 🎸🎸🎸
🙏🏽🎸🥁🙏🏽🎸🥁
Excellent the drummer overplays but it was still really good........
That's a heavy jam Will! As 2 bass players on one stage, you guys are vibing hard!

Thanks for posting this Will so we can see this Down Under. Just amazing playing, the band is burning and it's so great to see all the smiles on that stage!I oucld watch you and Darryl play for hours and hours. Mighty inspiring stuff✌🎸🥁
YEEEESSSSSS GUYS YOU'RE KILLING IT !!! CONGRATS
Thanks Will. I was there at the Cutting Room that night. Hope to catch you live again soon :)
Awesome!! I wore out a bootleg of PDB at Jonathan Swifts when I was in college.
Yes sir 💪
You all sound Great!!! Special Props to WOODY. Man, he is driving that BUS!
Soooh good, Legends!! 😎🙏
Good Version, great Sax-Solo!
Keep the fire burning!
so fantastic - memory lane hearing Woody at Berklee in 75 -76 - always playing somewhere - even if all nighters in the practise rooms 5th floor..... seeing Breckers at Paul's Mall w/ Will Lee....... and Jaco at the Zircon in Cambridge - astounding cover BRAVO
Nice groove to this Jaco signature piece. The sound mix was very good also. Nice performance all the way around. Thank you Will and Darryl.
Electric Bass royalty 😎
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
WOW!!!!!
🤘🏽Hell yea Will! From a subscriber out here in sunny Southern California ✌🏽😎
Когда David Mann заиграл на своём альт-саксофоне, я сразу вспомнил проекты Jaco and Brian Melvin! 😍
Nice one. KB did good job getting the patches. He worked on it 4 sure.
That’s the way to do it!, Rock the howse!! YEOWSAHH👍👍😎✌️☮️
WTF! Will !!! Great stuff dude... You and Darryl kick this in the ass, man!! Simply great! Can't get over how good it is. Maybe catch you over at the Bitter End this spring with Davide! eh? Cool man
Super cool to see Darryl and Will together! And Will, you're being too kind about the clams -- maybe you could get away with accepting blame if the guitar were mixed lower 😁.
Insanely good! How cool is Will?
David Mann used to play with his brother Ned at a local bar 5 minutes from my house, almost every month.
Will Lee, Darryl Jones, Teen Town cover...i'm dreaming, or i really need to sleep xD Thanks !
You guys sound great! This really grooves! Is that David Mann on sax?
great version of one of Jaco's best
Agreed. I'm usually not a big fan of Weather Report covers but this one definitely excels.
Super cool! 😘😍😂💕😘☺️
whew...somethin good is cooking...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAOW!!!
sabroso !!!
Don’t know what ever became of the recordings from the Jaco tribute at the Lone Star years ago. There were several versions of Teen Town, and you played it 3-4 good times. It was a good night for music. Jaco would have been amused.
how f***ing awesome is this....top draw man... top draw
I wonder how long it took Darryl and Will to learn the song perfectly so they could play in unison. Seems like a huge undertaking to me! And of course, both are superb!
I think so too. Besides the drummer shows some insane skills as well.
One take
🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥❗
Drummer is GREAT!!
sweet
The best version I’ve heard of this song, is by drummer Andreas Marchesini, his Dif-Fusion Live in India CD, it’ll leave your jaw on the table!
overplaying a lot :/
😃❤️🌺🌱
Not bad!!
Remind me to grab some pomegranates at the grocery store later on. haha
Dmann
Is da man!
😊💋
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ケンウッドがまともにドラムを叩く映像を初めて見た
I didn't know that Greg Bisonette has switched to bass...
daum!
「たかじん」さんですか?
I like the idea of having Hammond Organ and twin basses on Teen Town. I have known Will Lee's face since the 24th Street Band. How come his look has not changed much since then?
Carrot juice
Drummer seemed to do his own thing and didn’t really even play the high hat like the weather report version. As a drummer myself and a lover of this song the drummer made it very distracting to listen to
This doesn’t groove at all , i’m very sorry too say. Bassplayers were very good . But this needs a more floating energetic pushing feel
@@kimweemhoff5622 wtf you guys talkin bout,,,,willis
Listen to Marcus Miller's version also
What’s oddly sad, is all the guitars players just were big Zeros compared to Hiram. Hiram is God
Best version except for one: After Felix and Julian Pastorius played Teen Town all others versions are like “mehhh”. Fyi, they play the unison riff double time for good measure. It sounds even better sped up.
Listen to the best version; Andreas Marchesini Dif-Fusion Live in India.
Ok, Peter Erskine is more subtile, keep on working
No man. This is really sloppy.
I like Darryl Jones but this version of Jaco's hit is really pathetic. Will Lee is a mediocre, commercially only oriented shit player. He should stay on some late shows with sunglasses to goof around.
Will Lee is a studio legend and an absolutely incredible player. Killer playing here: ua-cam.com/video/SXhuIRPxJ_0/v-deo.html
@@mule71 I like Alphonso Johnson a lot better. Mr. Lee is just mediocre player by the book flat feeling to my taste, but you like him that's what counts:-) ua-cam.com/video/DSTagy1QBOk/v-deo.html
No funk there at all .
