- FULL hail core intercept between Colorado Springs and Fountain, CO complete with approach of giant milky white hail core with structure above. Chaos on the roads earlier. Flash flood threat continues with training storms.

I was out on my bike in south Denver today and could see big, towering cumulus clouds in all directions. Every time I see clouds like those, I wonder if Reed is under one of them, looking for trouble. I think Reed is more "forecastable" than the weather.

Saw your video from 11 yrs ago when you were in a tornado and I was suprised your channel is still going your vids are pretty cool
We live here in Fountain CO, and ill tell you right now it got crazy. The small river that we live by turned into a huge mud flow. Not to mention stalled out cars everywhere. Multiple yards washed out. But at least we had fun in the after math of it. Puddles to drive thro to help recede the water.

It was in the mid 80s when I lived in Denver. There was a storm that dumped enough hail to push several houses off their foundations as the hail accumulated at the bottom of a slope.

I did look like winter for about 30 minutes 😁 , then it was gone in a flash. Except for the shredded leaves and branches on the ground.

For those of you asking, this hail storm occurred Wednesday August 5th, 2020. I live near the mountains where the storm passed. It hailed very hard for approximately 20 minutes, and gradually came to a stop 15 minutes after that. The hail averaged dime to quarter sized, but quite a lot of golf ball sized as well. What this video can’t really show you is the enormous roar of impacts on houses, cars, and terrain. It sounded as if the roof of my house was going to give way lol. Also, the side of the trees facing the mountains, in my front yard were completely shredded. I wouldn’t want to be out driving in that without a tank! 😁

Unfortunately this happens every year here in the Springs. It's known to damage roofing, vehicles, harm us and animals. Three years ago it was so bad a few animals had passed at three Zoo due to tennis ball sized hails.
It’s interesting how in Colorado Springs they gets this insane storm but down in Broomfield it’s light to medium rain. Been like this the past week.

Reed should have been in Southwestern Ohio Memorial Day 2019 he would have had a field day chasing we had 15 tornadoes that evening he might have become confused which ones to chase. If was a very dangerous evening and the NWS issued a tornado emergency for our area that evening. The safest thing to do was to shelter in place because these storms were farting tornadoes out everywhere....
I mean no ignorance here, but why were they hiding under the overpass? That was a lot of hail but it didn't look super big. When it hails like that there is it better to be safe than sorry?
The hail just to the north was bigger. However, even small hail can cause significant damage if it's coming down hard and fast enough. My old car got hail damage twice from small hailstones. The car after that was hit with softball sized hail two years ago and totaled. It's just par for the course here.
@@americanfairy Thanks, that makes sense. I haven't driven in a lot of hail and where I live we don't get a ton of severe weather. Now that I think about it the worst storm I was ever in was in Pagosa Springs. I was visiting family as a kid and thought there was going to be a dang tornado.

Hardly. Commerce City is near Denver Airport. That's an hour and a half away on a good day.

You should have seen the one in killeen tx a few weeks back... i could have died happy that day.
Everyone is huddled under the overpass trying to protect their cars whereas you're sitting out in the hail like it's just a very light rain shower, barely sprinkling.
I live there and when it happened my mom and dad were out at work me and my brother were home alone
