INSANE STORM SURGE from Hurricane Beryl inundates professional storm chasers!

- Hurricane Beryl rapidly intensified to a powerful tropical cyclone while making landfall along the Texas coast southwest of Houston with wind gusts over 100 mph, dangerous storm surge, tornadoes and flash flooding. Team Dominator intercepted the hurricane from ground zero in Sargent Beach, Texas. We are very concerned for residents in these flood zones and now Houston is just getting pounded. Tornado outbreak later today as the tropical low moves inland. I bet this will be rated a category 2
😂 Are we Floating?!?!?
We thought so a few times we were bobbing
@@ReedTimmerWxI truly hope everyone knows you’re not trying to be funny with this reply. 😂😂
Forget the saying "If Jim Cantore shows up in your town... run", but if Reed Timmer shows up... your house may not be there when you get back LOL!
Exactly! Hahah that did happen to me with Hurricane Elena long time ago-Jim Cantore was literally in my yard filming.
Scary! (And wonderful!)
No doubt 😂😂
YeAh ThAt Is SoOoo FunNy. Trash
After the whole fan scandal Jim wouldn’t scare me at all… Reed on the other hand would definitely have me worried 😅
Happy to report I have had Reed chase a tornado in my town and my house is still standing 😂 I was incredibly grateful to have his live coverage that day.
I have no doubt that Reed Will NEVER be happy at a desk job!

There's never gonna be a desk big enough for Reed 😂
Reed needs a amphibious duck truck for hurricane intercepting
"Intercepting " a hurricane.....🤣👌

He does, it's called a rental 😂
Like the penguin drove in Batman Returns
Watch Brick Immortar's video on duck boats.
"We are getting dragged out." Reed's response: "We are?" 🤣
I thought Reed was the one saying we're getting dragged out...
I saw that on the live stream. Turns out it was the truck next to them backing up, made it seem like they were moving forward.
Everyone: "turn around don't drownd"
Reed: I am going to drive in this river real quick
Make sure I don't buy this rental when it comes up for sale!
It looks like he’s driving in the ocean
thats because that is the ocean

Makes one think twice about buying a used car that was formerly a rental. One should ask “Did Reed Timmer ever rent this vehicle?” Thanks, but no thanks. 😆
It's not that's why he didn't bring the Dominator
Seafoam.
And that’s the force of a Hurricane 1. Imagine a Hurricane 5. 😮
After being in the middle of a rather big storm here in the Scotland with over 100mph winds I have a lot of respect for those who ride out cat 5 hurricanes.
Just look up storm Arwen, my area took a big hit, to be honest 4 years later thiers still more damage waiting to be cleared up.
Ya got that right. My husband and I were stationed on Guam, both in the AF in 1976 when Super Typhoon Pamela hit. Winds measured 165 mph. Or more. It took 16 hours to go over. I remember stepping outside when the eye went right over us. Winds had decreased to 70 mph and no rain. Bizarre. No kidding. Then the real destruction began. You can read about it.
@@kathleensue1 I was on the eye of storm Arwen,
Went from 110mph to dead still and quiet, was the oddest experience,
At the time I was still a smoker had to go out side to smoke the power in the wind was impressive to feel.
UK is getting more and more storms like it, with storm surges,
Last one hit last October which brought costal flooding much like what Reed filmed.
I live in Gulfport, MS after Katrina we had pine needles shoved into pine trees
And minivans in the 2nd story of the Edgewater Mall. I worked South of the tracks afterwards and we had to get us id badges to go thru military checkpoints to even get to that side. Debris piles were two to 3 stories tall and there were hundreds of refrigerated truck trailers were the bodies were kept. 😢😢imagine seeing a whole huge casino that floated across the highway intact placed in the center of the road
This guy is a super hero and a madman all rolled in to one. One of a kind.
Just think how this traveled from basically the other side of the planet and how long it’s been a storm for and everything it’s been through/including countries… just so crazy when you think about it
This is why Reed Timmer is the greatest meteorologist that’s ever lived.
As a houstonian, the amount of severe storms we have gotten this summer is unreal. A tornado AND a derecho, and now a hurricane. Why bro 😭
Does mother nature hate Houston?
@@codycarlson199 as of lately, yes lol
Here in the UK we've not had storms like you guys but the weather in general has been atrocious since the end of January. We are well into summer and it has been low pressure systems and weather fronts one after the other. Wet, windy and not very warm most of the time.
Someone has crossed a chosen ONE obvious and it is Divine justice ⚖️
@@codycarlson199Texas is where most of the oil pumping operations are located so I would say yes.
What an absolutely awesome chase. Cannot believe I managed to stay awake from start to finish of your live stream & I’m in the UK so it was already nearly midnight when you went live! 🙌
I managed to do the same, absolutely insane, but definitely worth it.
That's great! Went to sleep and called off from work!
I at least passed out twice
6:41 If you've never lived near ocean water, you may not be able to fully appreciate the feeling one gets when a 'typically calm and quiet neighbor' decides to do whatever it wants, for as long as it wants and absolutely everyone is completely powerless to stop it. 6:41. Thanks for catching these incredible sights Reed! Never Stop Chasing
He chose to be out there on the beach during the landfall. He is more balsy than me for sure.
I love this footage.
Just the surreal landscape of brown dirty water rushing past your truck is so cool.
If only I wasn't currently inside of this storm.
How many lives does this guy have
To many to count
I've thought about that for the past decade. luck eventually runs out, but if you can't enjoy life, what's the point in life?
@@davearnold1883 True that !!
Hell Yeah! Reed Timmer bringing us safety and entertainment for years! If ya die doing what ya love, now that's what I call living!
You are completely nuts. Omg Reed
That water is amazingly corrosive to metal. I once cast a brand new fishing hook into the Gulf and within an hour it showed severe corrosion.
Ocean acidification? Has that happened to you in the past with fishing hooks?
Yep. Lost a couple of Penn Battle II fishing reels after the first kayak trip out. They only got wet going out of the surf and coming back in. We even rinsed them off with fresh water. But the gears and bearings never worked the same again 😢 lol
I watched you all night. You amaze me with your energy. Stay safe and Never Stop Chasing. Much Love ❤
Aren't you exhausted? I waited hours to finally eat a sandwich. I was watching Connor and Freddy too though. 😂❤
Im glad your in TEXAS not FLORIDA we have had our share of hurricanes its terrible no power for days sometimes weeks no showers its very rough living praying for everyone!!!!!!

The live stream was a lot of fun - if a bit worrying at times. But this is great, gets a real sense of all the forces at work, and at play - play being the operative word and the guys seems to enjoy head butting Mother Nature! Get well soon Brian - love what. you're doing with the channel.
Wow you can clearly see the power of Beryl’s arrival in this video. Huge shout out Reed and LocalMan Weather for intercepting Beryl. I have never been in a hurricane, but this video provides front seat view of the experience. Thank you for sharing.
The rear view/all around camera on the “dominator” was pretty interesting! Stay safe out there Jay and (not so) Silent Bob!
Jim Cantore doesn't have anything on you Reed Timmer😂😂😂
You sir, are a beast😂😂
In another chasers post, I read Reed was in his truck and surrounded with water... Hope everyone is safe!
He got out of the water and got on the bridge. The other end of the bridge is flooded out too though so he and the other chasers that were down there are all going to be stuck on the bridge for a while. Plenty of room on the bridge though so they're alright
Thanks for the update!
Praying that bridge holds up! It’s in his latest video where the water was taking them out. But I don’t believe he was on the bridge at that time. Scary stuff
Wow
What town?
I love it! Waves crashing in & I hear "That looked pretty big...did it get the floor board?" "Yes!" "We gotta go?"! What do you mean [do] " We gotta go? " 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Ya forgot to do the ""Cantore Pose" being slanting over in the winds as if it was to take you away!
I watched the water rise - you guys are insane! Better get lots of life insurance.
Life insurance won't save your life. Even the Coast Guard warns that you are on your own during a storm surge. I fear posting this kind of adventure will end poorly.

Nice work gentlemen!
Avis Rental Guy:
"So, any damage to declare?"
Everyone talking about the salt water damage to the truck when Reed literally drives into tornadoes ripping chunks off of his vehicles and goes through windshields like they're toilet paper. I don't think he cares about a little water damage. Not to mention the millions of vehicles of the people who live and work in the area sitting in their driveways/parking lots getting submerged by the same flooding. This is Reed's job, vehicle damage is the same to him as wear and tare on your tools at work. Eventually they have to be repaired and/or replaced.
Cost of doing business. Treat windshields as consumables. TBH all it would need would be a thorough pressure washing, sooner the better. Maybe re-grease the ignition wiring. Think about cars up north, driving on salted snow mush for 4 months...
This storm looks spooky 👻 great job guys

I've been thru countless hurricanes. Each storm is different but the worst have been Irma, Ian, and Charley (2004) because my house took a direct hit from their eyewalls. Those strong wind gusts are something else.

My family in Galveston and Houston said it’s not as bad as everyone is saying. He said most of the weather people were right up on the Ocean. Yet at the same time my fellow Texans down there are use to this and when it hit it was a CAT1/Tropical Storm. Yet I get UA-cam, gotta make it look crazier than it is. Yet my family says all is fine, a few roof shingles off, some coastal flooding of course, and some small trees down but that’s it. The wind in the video makes it seem so much worse. If it was that bad they wouldn’t be out there by the ocean. Yet… Hurricane season will probably be bad this year. This one just wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be when it hit Texas. My fellow Special Forced Gpa use to drive my cousins and I on top of the piers in Galveston in his truck during Cat2-3 Hurricanes. The piers would be swaying with us on it and he was laughing. Yet yeah this wasn’t bad to Texas standards. Yet it’s all for UA-cam so I get it, gotta keep people entertained. Just funny in every live chat everyone is saying every single chase or storm is Armageddon when it’s not. I do respect what Reed does very much though, the man is actually a scientist and not just some guy with a camera and car calling himself a chaser like 95% of the UA-camrs on here. Got people calling themselves chasers when they just read a radar, watch other chasers, and edit videos. Most of you could read radars and edit if you watched a UA-cam video on how to do it. Yet, Reed is truly a professional and definitely knows his stuff. So never hate on him or Connor. There’s just allot of guys out there doing this and they have no clue but pretend to do so. Then they kiss the real chasers a**es so they can get the clicks. Also if you have “chasers” constantly asking for donations all the time, which many do, well then you know they’re not doing it for the right reasons. They’re doing it for clicks and to be known. Hate to be the honest person here but it’s true.
They’re doing it to be UA-camrs and not passionate scientists. You’ll never see Reed asking for money because he does it for the science, not for the clicks. Respect to him and rant over 😂
I don't think it's anyone over hyping anything. A lot of meteorological work is calculated guessing. When you have a storm that cranked from a tropical storm to a cat 5 overnight the likelihood of it cranking all the way up again is high. Caution with severe weather is important. I agree that the fear mongering for clicks is bad but it's important to take these things seriously. I'm sure it's a good memory for you, but as a parent the idea of my kid being on a pier during a hurricane is nuts to me.
