- A little while ago our very own Caitie North got to go visit and share some tradecraft with the talented Adele Sypesteyn.

In the video that Adele posted she taught Caitie how to get started with Abstract painting.
In this video, Caitie gets the pleasure of sharing her watercolor knowledge with Adele.
Adele and her husband also took the time to film and edit both of these videos.
Both videos are amazing and I am so grateful for them for both capturing and creating them.
Adele and Caitie shot this in Adele's video studio with her magnificent multi-camera setup.
Caitie had the amazing idea to use a "Land Before Time" sized maple leaf to create a watercolor crash course.
She used each of the points of the leaf to work through a different watercolor technique with Adele.
Caitie works through, wet on wet, wet on dry, negative space painting, using masking fluid, using salt, and adding highlights.
Not only are both of these videos fun to watch but they are a great example of the camaraderie that artists should show to each other.
It is also a perfect example of being able to enjoy stepping out of your artistic comfort zone.
Most of us are afraid to do it when we are alone in our studios or craft rooms.
Most of us are even afraid to take a tiny step - even in our preferred medium - like using a color we've never used before.
Caitie and Adele are willing to do it in front of literally tens of thousands of people.

So follow Caitie and Adele's lead and just jump in and embrace your creativity!

I had so much fun doing this with Caitie. The Peerless watercolors are amazing. I love them. Totally different and way more vibrant than anything else I’ve seen.
This was just as much fun to watch as the abstract video. Great job with showing one another how to step outside your comfort zone.
Are the Peerless watercolors lightfast? Archival?
I am so dismayed as the website has EVERYTHING except individual sheets "SOLD OUT"! Any idea when they will come back in stock?
i got an e-mail stating that they are currently selling a new line called the sidekick, I might have to try it. I too was frustrated with their site.
