      Thank you Kathleen ♥️ I loved the vibrancy of these paints and it worked nicely for the super bold looking foxes 🦊
      I can understand them not being to everyone's taste as the colours are very vibrant and don't behave like regular watercolours. For me they help to loosen my style up a little.

    I love the hare painting most. I've never heard of brushex but it certainly gave an interesting result :)

      Thank you Lorraine ♥️ the peerless were really good for preserving the line drawings underneath on the hare painting. They work beautifully for line and wash work ❤️
      I think you could use very diluted bleach or sterilising fluid to create a similar effect if you haven't got brush ex. Just be careful with your skin and surfaces 👍

      Thank you ScrawlrBox ❤️ and thank you for providing some unique colours in the May box! It was nice to have such an array of colours to experiment, compare and work with. Perfect for getting a little geeky over 😁
      As for the hole punch? Perfect for adding a little bit of practical fun to the palette. Plus as a bonus when they are used up and dried = paper confetti 🎊

    They’re all great paintings but I love the foxes most, they’re so cute & vibrant! I’d definitely like to see more videos along this line, especially any about brusho. It’s been too long since I last used my brusho set & I could use some inspiration 🤣

      Thank you sarahsreviews ❤️ I liked how simple the foxes were to paint after adding those small details. The vibrancy of the peerless really packed a punch!
      As for Brusho! Yes I'm looking forward to painting with those again. I'm making a more detailed Swatch sheet in the sketch book so I don't have loose sheets floating around! I also want to try an experiment with them too 😁

    Thank you for this great video! I like the foxes most because you went very loose there. What a fantastic approach! You inspired me be doing all this pieces. You dare to apply big brush strokes with such a vived Colors (portrait). That with the loose style… yes it really works with this paints.
    I don’t find them to use this paints because blending does not happen well. They behave like inks as you say. That brusho , what is it then?
    Of course I would be very pleased with with a couple more video’s ;-) It is very helpful to me :-)

    • @KatyRylesArt
      @KatyRylesArt  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you Banani Covani ♥️ I'm so glad you enjoyed it 😊 I enjoyed painting the foxes as it was such a simple process. I thought using a flat brush would loosen my style up a little. They can be a little tricky to blend, some merge beautifully whilst others do not want to at all. I'm speculating that there may be different levels of binder which I think could be salt based, and that could be why this happens. I think that the formula is similar to the Brusho powered dyes I've featured a few times. I'll be making a new video using these soon because there's something I want to try out with them 😁

    Bleeding can only be prevented when you let them dry between the layers or between the places next to each other. Watercolors bleed. That's normal... even when watercolors are dry they can bleed. That's the thing watercolors do...
    I like the rabit and the foxes are the most beautiful. 👌
    Have no questions. I use them both but i prefer my schmincke. I take them always with me. I have a big handbag so they dont have to be small. I use a 48 halfpan metal box. And thats not so big. And archespaper to work on the go...
    Above all you need good watercolorpaper. Better use quality paper then quality paints. But if you want good 0befs8f

    • @KatyRylesArt
      @KatyRylesArt  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you Malika ♥️ yes definitely, completely dry layers is key. However, I think because there is salt within the paint, even when the layers are bone dry, the residual salt draws moisture towards it and it causes the bleed. It's often the case with salt/ dye based watercolours, liquid watercolour and watercolour pens. Not so much with traditional pan and tube watercolours, unless using salt for texture.
      Oooooooooooh I'd love to try schmincke watercolours 😍 and good call for the large handbag! I've tried arches a few times, and although it's a lovely paper it's not my favourite to work on for quick sketches as I can't be trusted not to waste it.

    • @annnoyez

      @@KatyRylesArt ues its quit expensive arches. I usually have some local cotton paper and my arches are for my real stuff. If you know what i mean. But i am a paper hoarder. I have tons of sketchbooks and tons of paper. I use cheap stuf to make cards...
      Schmincke is my love... lol. I have senelier, qor, winsor&newron, and some local made stuff. But i take always my schmincke.. for me they are the bet. I bought some when they are minus 50 %. I bought some from our local artsyore that where to old for them to sell. They were large tubes for 4 euro. So i took all the colors in that basket... 1 tube a big one will last me a lifetime. Goor for about 10 halfpans and perhaps more. And now i biy every month a new color. And now i have a lot. I do that now for about 6 years... so i have a big range of colors in my schmincke... but i think they are cheaper here as they are an european brand. Like cor and damiel smith are very expensive over here... so perhaps cheaper in the US.

      Thank you Pam ❤️ I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun video to make and experiment with these unique supplies! I can tell you that the brush ex does have a bit of a bleach smell to it. I wonder if diluted sterilising fluid would work in a similar way 🤔

    Oh that bunny looks like it’s up to no good.😏
    I love the drawings and the hole punch was such a fun addition. I can’t pick a favorite because every painting showed me how to approach different painting situations.
    I have those vaviva paints but honestly haven’t used them since I got them in my subscription box.
    You know I’d love for you to make more videos 🥰
    As for a question I don’t have one as of yet, but I do want to say thank you for your support and encouragement. I think your really cool 😎.

      Thank Creative Phenomenon Art ♥️ hehe
      The hole punch is super useful and if you have any novelty shaped one even better 😁
      As these took a little getting used to especially compared to more traditional watercolours, so I thought about trying different styles and applications. I don't think Viviva are great for working in too much detail as the salt content of the paint does cause it to bleed a little. The peerless are a little more forgiving!
      And also thank you for your lovely support too 💕

    I think they all looked fabulous but to be honest for performance I think the peerless ones look so beautiful.They give such a nice visual effect ,almost soft but loosing none of the detail.The others looked much more work to get a decent finish.They seem brighter but I would prefere the peerless for the non bleeding aspect rather than the brightness and colours.If you do a lot of outdoor painting .These would be fantastic,or if you do portraits and you like to get a few sketches down .Be great for that too.Much better than taking a tin of paints around too.I absolutely love the rabbit he is beautiful ..Love n Light 🥰

    • @KatyRylesArt
      @KatyRylesArt  2 роки тому

      Thank you Christine ❤️ I think I favour the peerless watercolours more due to having control of how much I can dilute them. I also prefer that they don't quite bleed as much when layering. The viviva ones are still fun to use, maybe for single washes here and there but they do have a mind of their own sometimes 😁
      They are really nice for portraits with loose brush strokes and a wide brush. ✨✨

    Ooh, very interesting! I really like all of the art, with the first portrait being my fav because it's giving a 1960s psychedelic, Beatles-Yellow Submarine art vibe, which I love. 20:39

      Thank you Diane O ♥️ they are such an interesting material to work with. I loved the vibrancy of both but I think I'm leaning more towards liking the peerless more as there's a little more control.
      Oooooooooooh I loved watching the Yellow Submarine when I was a kid! I can see what you mean now that you mention it too!

    I love the foxes, but they all look good. I’d say the final one is my favourite of the portraits. I’m here for a series! I’ve a question, too: is there a medium you simply don’t get on with?

      @KatyRylesArt  2 роки тому

      Thank you Sonya ❤️ I like how I'd loosened up for the foxes, plus the pinks and reds were just 🤌✨
      The final one just tied up the loose style with a few key details and had a nice balance! That's a great question and I'll keep that for the video! But yes lol there are a couple
