that thig looks perfect . You should put some water proofing in between the cab and the box the prevent rust. Just blast some paint or put a rubber mat over it. I think the only thing that would make that truck better is having a mud terrain tire tread. Height and tire size is good
That's a beautiful rig! My friend want's to sell me their mint condition 83 that is the same rig but stock with less than 100k miles on it for $1,500. She hasn't used it in 15 years and she is the original owner. It's never been in an accident or has any dents. It truly is in mint condition besides the red paint being a bit sun faded.
@@padronianful I'm taking that deal but I might get it for $1,000.00 due to it sitting for about 15 years and needing new tires. I'll have to replace the battery, spark plugs, gas and all of that stuff to get it running and then down to the tire shop. It's cancer free.
Right? Such a good truck and no one really builds them that way. Usually only to rock crawl. Which it can do stock. I'll have another video with new springs up soon. Thanks.
We are the og owners of a '80 SR5 LB. All stock currently. My son is taking over stewardship of it and wants to make it an overland rig. As long as all the mods are reversible I said go for it. Looking forward to what you do.
Cool project ,ive decided to convert my 1984 xtra cab 4x4 to a overland truck recently ,gave it to my daughter but she didnt want it .Hoping to take it to baja this summer (2020)with my son ,not a lot of 1st and 2nd gen toyotas left now they were all cut up for rockcrawlers
Right on. My first yota was a 85 extra cab. And I always wanted a first gen. So i got one. They are so cool and yeah they are all rock crawlers or trailer queens. I drive my truck everywhere. Send some videos or pics of your truck.
I will do a channel when i start it probably after jan 1st cause of work ,sold my 1979 longbed 4x4 last year grew up on 1st gens but iam 6‘2" and was 2 cramped for me inside but miss it , sold it to some missonaries that were shipping it to Africa ,crazy .Keep up the vids iam subbed
Why would you want to go higher or put any bigger tires on? It looks proportionately just right where it's at! Enjoy what you've done and don't screw it up.
I have the same truck just started playing with it. Im excited. I have a 2017 super duty 250 so its nice to play with this one. How much did your rebuild cost? I want to do it.. Thanks man! Dope truck! Im going overland too!

Tom Jones I recently switched back to a one diff. I didn’t mind it. But it did make a lot of noise. I also really like the springs they definitely hold a lot of weight especially when I’m loaded for camping. Retains rode height with no sagging but Govea you a nice ride
I have a question: I’m having problems with my truck it’s a 94 Toyota Pickup 22RE. I have replaced the circuit opening relay, fuel filter, fuel pump and it’ll run fine but outta no where it stalls while driving and since I replaced the fuel pump it takes two trys to turn on.
Christian Martinez This morning I went to buy some biscuits, it turn fine the first try, I drove all they there fine, I was waiting for like 5 mins everything fine, but on my way back home like halfway it die while driving 😞..
I got my rear bumper from trail gear for a 84 pickup. Fits the same. Rock sliders where from low range Offroad. You'll have to plate shim the rear bumper but that's good for reinforcement. Good luck

Buy it ! That's dirt cheap dude!
If you ever sell it id be interested in buying it. Those are hard to find with no rust in my area @robertlaird6746

Do you still have this truck?
Who rebuilt your engine?

Nice build. What color did you paint the truck? Looks like the Tacoma Quicksand.
Thank you. It is the the Tacoma quicksand color.
The Original color was ''Creme''....My 83 came with it. Very close to Quicksand.
Gas tank flap. Locked?
How do you like the posit rack in rear being a daily drive truck

I would check mass air flow sensor. And idle air control valve next. Highly doubt your issues is with new parts.
