///at 8:28 this guy showed me he is authentic and he plays this with true feeling. Guy is a rocker who plays great. Gonna make me try harder. Thanks for posting Phil.
@@Philipsimojo nah man he has played on studio tracks for several big bands, it's not just because of these videos. He's pretty well known as a squeaky clean session guy
I love this guy, I have been following Phil's videos for some years, he is awesome. I'm happy to see is doing so well. This is a super talented cool dude that loves what he does!
These videos are 10 years old now and I still love watching. Phil X is a phenomenal player, love the energy! Very inspiring, and I just picked up a “DaVinci” 413, same amp as the Tonemaster and I’m really impressed at the range of tones that come from the amp. If I could only get to play as well as Phil does though then it’d sound great! Thanks for posting all those years ago but some of us guitar nerds are still diggin it man!!
When it's about to test a guitar and rock on, there's no other like Phil X. Until today, I could not find another person who put so much passion in playing guitar. Nowadays they focus more on say a tons of specs instead of enjoy the guitar and the playing.
I really respect that you are one of very very few who are extremely happy and excited to do guitar review videos. It really seems like you have a very good time and to me that kind of helps sell the guitar a bit more rather than a dull man playing dull stuff. You're awesome! :D
Bro I am a fan of yours ... you’re so much fan to watch , you’ve it all , charisma , great fingers , great music taste and you can sing and you’re a huge positive and fan to watch .. All the best from Australia 🇦🇺
Once again, Phil kills it. I was laughing throughout the video. So awesome. Seriously, I could skip everything else on You Tube and just watch Fretted Americana videos with Phil. Best videos ever.
“I’m all over the place today.“ From where I’ve been sitting this whole time, Phil’s “today“ is every day. He’s also a better singer than so many classic vocalists combined (not only Ozzy but David Lee Roth). I always wanted to have Phil’s manic energy and passion in front of an audience, and people always found ways to make me regret it later.
@tombolo191 first of all it's not a Bigsby, secondly a tremelo often effects tuning and third this guitar was made in 1961, and IS a high quality instrument...
ohh i miss those axes reviews phil definitely is a monster playing any song on any guitar and still sound amazing, seems surreall just to think it was like yesterday when i watched this channel and learned a lot thx
I dig Phil X's playing and all the cool old guitars being played, not just seeing pictures of them hanging on a rack somewhere. Alot of them are soon to be wisked off to some collectors vault never to be heard again.
Of all the Phil X videos - and they are are great - this is my favorite. He rocks that semi-hollow. I wasn't a fan of Diary of a Madman until I watched his "interval" solo!! Amazing...
You really seem to have fun Phil X !! hope you can get this energy without illegal substance ! Only Rock'n'roll, don't ya ? great instrument and great player.
I am a heavy picker, I really dig in. I pull the string off the bridge all the time on the trapeze. Phil is replacing the E string back in the saddle on this one. I need a stop bar. Rock on.
+hondansx1000 I know some session players who consider the 335/355 to be the most versatile guitar there is. I would never have thought so, but i've heard a few tell me that so maybe there's something to it.
Is that really proven ? Some say the f hole difference is not condiserable soundwise, especially in high gain stuff. If you know how to control your feedback it's not worth getting a Lucille, a usual semi hollow will do.
When I read the ridiculous accounts of spontaneous human combustion, it's an image of Phil X that comes to my mind! I don't know if you're born with it or what but I wish he could bottle it and sell it. I'd be the first in line. What an absolute riot is is watching this guy. Totally digging it Phil. Please keep it up.
335s, les pauls, strats, telecasters.... all the classic guitars just have such a cool vibe. Ibanez and ESP guitars all play well but they don't have it.... it.... GOIN' OAN!
@justjoe032 it's mostly used on the custom models like the les paul and SG custom, but sometimes its used for special guitars, like this one because its a 355 mono, not a 335, or a stereo one like the one phil demoed through two marshall amps.
It’s 2024 and these Phil X vids never get old.
just like Madeleine McCann
Who's rewatching all of these in 2020?? Phil X is entertaining as heck!
YES! THIS GUY BADASS!
Hell, I just found out about him a couple months ago. Damn right I’m watching a lot of them.
Phil is badass, I really miss the Fretted America.
I’m certainly watching this one.
2021 lol 🤘🏽
I agree Phil. That riff in Diary of Madman gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. It's like it's from another galaxy.
R.I.P Randy Rhoads
He is one of the highest paid session guys in LA...And has played with Motley Crue...Bon Jovi....on and on....Real Deal...Refreshing!
He is the "Ace Ventura" of the guitar world, and might have an addiction to stimulants.
this guys is really cool, plays heavy metal, blues, rock, and all his videos are pretty awesome and fun to watch and listen.
it's because he is a really guitar player mate!
Oh, glad you cleared that up. Thought he was a sax player.
Really skilled but the main thing is he shows how much fun music can be. Also a plus that he plays Rush correctly.
I always want to turn him off but, I just can't. He's way to good and his enthusiasm is infectious!!
Well, kinda accurate. But that's not important. He plays Rush with some enthusiasm. Haha
This guy is an unbelievable guitar player
This guys like a guitar encyclopedia.
You probably got to be, in order to keep that stock that’s behind him.
///at 8:28 this guy showed me he is authentic and he plays this with true feeling. Guy is a rocker who plays great. Gonna make me try harder. Thanks for posting Phil.
well he is the current guitarist of bon jovi so you would expect that haha :)
It's only because of these videos he got the gig. You never know who's watching.
@@Philipsimojo nah man he has played on studio tracks for several big bands, it's not just because of these videos. He's pretty well known as a squeaky clean session guy
@@zac_m Yeah, I know that now. Didn't know what I was talking about when I said it.

Few people are the real deal as well as Phil X. The guy really knows his music.
I love it when Phil forgets to take his Ritalin ;)

"Alright guys. Listen, this is a blues riff in B, watch me for the changes and try to keep up okay...."
Peace.
***** Exactly. :)
Awesome. Well played !
Wrong model ... 😉 That was an ES-345
The movie takes place before the guitar even existed.
"Well, your kids are gonna *love* it...."
this dude's crazy. crazy good. a good kind of crazy...
Phil X is one of my favorite players ever! He's such a badass!

Too much talent for one dude, it ain’t fair. Great guy!
Love him or hate him , there is no question that this man has skills!
Once again, Phil kills it. I was laughing throughout the video. So awesome. Seriously, I could skip everything else on You Tube and just watch Fretted Americana videos with Phil. Best videos ever.
i like this guys attitude!
Dude you're so awesome to watch playing random guitars. Keep shredding dude, you rock!!! 🤘
This guy never ceases to amaze me...

Phil is a joy to watch..
He can get a good sound out of any guitar.
If he can play like that there is hope for me to at least be 5% as good.
He looks so happy, he cant stop playing hahaha! I think we found the new main character for School of Rock II
@tombolo191 first of all it's not a Bigsby, secondly a tremelo often effects tuning and third this guitar was made in 1961, and IS a high quality instrument...
My FAV Phil X vid by far,..the Randy Rhoads solo is a beast. AWSOME.
I've seen a lot of Phil's videos - he really seems to be on fire in this one. Love the Rhoads stuff.
"i think i can remember the solo to Over The Mountain"
nails every note. ouh Phil :D
Oh my God! That "Over the mountain" is so awesome!!!
Thank you so much Phil! You're the best! )))
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! Phil thanks for playing Randy. He has been big influence in my guitar pluckin' life time. Great guitar FA.
The best guitar ever made!!! I have a Japanese copy and it rocks!
i know what it feels like to play a fast riff perfectly. feel like screamin out loud when you do, its that drug called music in your veins.
My favorite video of yours, Phil X.
ohh i miss those axes reviews phil definitely is a monster playing any song on any guitar and still sound amazing, seems surreall just to think it was like yesterday when i watched this channel and learned a lot thx
Some good blues playing on this Phil, probably the best playing in any of your videos that I have seen!
I had never heard of Phil X before this video...pretty cool stuff. Dude's badass. Obviously has a lot of fun making his vids, too. Will watch more!
Wow, your music knowledge is great and yes Randy was the best!!
2:40 onwards! Mesmerising
Great demo, Thanks, had me rockin in my seat. Phil X is a Legend.
What fast blues player he is and what precision he has in his fingers.
Man, this guitar sounds good. Especially in Phil X's hands...
You rock, man! Love those fabulous vintage axes you're playing. And yes, that cool bluesy/jazzy riff was Frank Marino.
I can't get enough of this ES-335 when he plays it at 00:47 to 00:49.. It sounds sooooooo gooooooooood!! So simple yet so awesome
I dig Phil X's playing and all the cool old guitars being played, not just seeing pictures of them hanging on a rack somewhere. Alot of them are soon to be wisked off to some collectors vault never to be heard again.
This guy is totally f--king nuts, I like f--king nuts its good for the soul.
Have fun Phil
Of all the Phil X videos - and they are are great - this is my favorite. He rocks that semi-hollow. I wasn't a fan of Diary of a Madman until I watched his "interval" solo!! Amazing...
Phil seems so fun and care free.
the only person in the world that can play randy's riffs the way they are supposed to be played
I simply love this guy! Awesome Guitar reviews, excellent playing, great sense of humor... you are off the hook sir!!! :)
That Tonemaster is so slinky and yet bitey. Real cool. Works great with humbuckers
Beep ME, that clean tone is to die for!!! dream guitar :-)
Man, what a brilliant video. Wish we could cage this guys energy and send some over!
Phil is a joy to watch..
He seems like a really nice guy too.
I love that this dude is always sooo humble about his abilities
that is passion playing guitar...
Incredible tones coming from that guitar! The excellent playing certainly helps it too.
You really seem to have fun Phil X !! hope you can get this energy without illegal substance ! Only Rock'n'roll, don't ya ? great instrument and great player.
@hagojr Yes he is - The Drills - they are amazing...
Jeez Phil! You got so much music blasting out of you! I wish I had a little bit of that. Man that was a cool Johnny B Goode!!!
Outstanding
My favorite video and guitar Fretted Americana has to offer!
very nice guitar... it has perfect tone and a great look.
RIP Randy.
Awesome video
Robin :o)
he always makes me smile... go Phil!
Addicted to these videos.
I just keep watching this ! Amazing 👍
Wow...Phil...BEST GUITAR WORLD!!!
I am a heavy picker, I really dig in. I pull the string off the bridge all the time on the trapeze. Phil is replacing the E string back in the saddle on this one. I need a stop bar. Rock on.
OMG. What a cool series. Great player and entertaining!
wow thing is amazing, that is probably my favorite middle position ive ever heard, great guit.
So good, love the blues!!!!
Beautiful guitar! Thanks for the video.
that moment when Phil X gets the almost perfect tone for Randy Rhodes...whilst playing on a 355
+hondansx1000 I know some session players who consider the 335/355 to be the most versatile guitar there is. I would never have thought so, but i've heard a few tell me that so maybe there's something to it.

@hevikeke yes we can
I'm a King Bee! Awesome riffin. Had to go back for a second listen.
From 2:40 min I was hooked. Some may be tired of hearing Blues... but not me :-)
When I read the ridiculous accounts of spontaneous human combustion, it's an image of Phil X that comes to my mind! Sweet inspiration brother.thank you for these wonderful tones FA.
If you can believe it.....he’s gotten even better....🙀
@RockandMetal95 he uses an A-B switch to go between!! Nice pair :)
So far, my favorite Phil X "episode".
@FinalWarning666
I pick so hard, I kept knocking the low E string out of the saddle notch. I think u can get a special retainer for that.
@MrYaksosk Probably not going to happen, but thank you for playing :)
335s, les pauls, strats, telecasters.... all the classic guitars just have such a cool vibe. Ibanez and ESP guitars all play well but they don't have it.... it.... GOIN' OAN!
I love that middle position!! Absolutely amazing guitar! :)
This guy is a killer!!!
never mind Randy, did you hear that Johnny B Goode???
The attack on the ebony FB is awesome.
YASOU RE PHIL X! Awesome playing!
Johnny B. Goode .. AWESOME! Really, mindblowing stuff...!
awsome job dude your over the moutain was spot on
one of the only guys who can pull off black nail paint
@justjoe032 it's mostly used on the custom models like the les paul and SG custom, but sometimes its used for special guitars, like this one because its a 355 mono, not a 335, or a stereo one like the one phil demoed through two marshall amps.
Holy shit, this is probably the best tone I've ever heard.
This is the most awesome shit I've seen till the day. You are a legend dude.
What’s so funny is watching that guitar scream for mercy! The low E string tried to leave several times! 😂
