I think ill attempt to make an oversized version as a book cover. My aunt is a big reader and typically just carries the books in her purse if its a physical one. but some of them are a paperback and she risks damaging it so this would be fantastic to help guarentee theyre safe
Why do I have the feeling I am gonna make so many of thease😂 they are so cute thank you for this tutorial🦋 I also want to add that I find it hilarious when ever you did a little "life hack" everytime it blew my mind like I had seen a magicktrick😂
I JUST finished a reversible pouch with cats on one side and dogs on the other. The trick was to sew them upside down while facing each other. I made it for my bestie and an oracle deck she has and I made it 10 x 18 because she will keep the mini book with it and more! So cute!!!
Followed this pattern to make a dust cover for my New 3DS. A 7" x 10.5" piece is a snug fit, but works. I used interfacing instead of wadding and didn't bother to top-stitch the flap (my stitching is a bit unfortunate looking). Gave it a pass with an iron instead and it looks fine.
Hello! I hope you have had a blissful and creative day. I just got to sit down to watch your video. I just want you to know that I enjoy your channel content and always find it interesting. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Thank you for this tutorial and free pattern! Do you mind telling us what the length of your strap was? I caught the width of the fabric, but I want to make sure I make one long enough. Thank you!
Erm... I'll be honest, I have no idea! It was probably about 30-35cm. Wrap a tape measure one and a half times around your deck and that'll be about right. You only need enough to tuck under the first wrap, c x
Oh, it did! Looks like the web fairies are in the process of transferring it over to the new Sew HQ site as I can't open it either. Please keep checking back, c x
You could try coating the fabric with a waterproofing paste called Odicoat before cutting and sewing together. Alternatively you could sew the outer or lining from a plastic coated cotton. It would still only be splash/shower proof as water will still be able to get into the stitch holes and the opening, c x
I'm not sure how to help. Make sure the end of the strap is stitched closed and then gently push the closed bit inside the straw with the knitting needle. Once the end is in by about 5-10mm you should be able to easily slide the fabric that's on the straw onto the knitting needle and when it's all gathered on there, remove the straw, grab the closed up end of the strap and slide the gathered fabric along the rest of the knitting needle till it's all turned out. Maybe your strap is too tight for the knitting needle? c x
@@TheCraftsChannel ah ok, so the top bit goes in the straw but the rest pulls over the needle, I see! Honestly it was taking me longer to do this bit than the rest of the bag haha Thanks!
I just tried this today and it went wonderfully!! Thank you so much for sharing!!❤🎉

They're addictive aren't they? Also, all my life hacks have originated from all my stupid mistakes first time around 😆c x

Great idea! I have a pack of Tarot cards somewhere - haven’t seen them for twenty years. Your comments always make me smile (size of knitting needle:)
Nice project okay I downloaded the pattern when cutting it out the pattern, do I leave the upper side with the curve straight 😮
You can cut the curve. I always draw it, sew it on the drawn line so there's more fabric to manoeuvre, and then trim the seam, c x

@@TheCraftsChannel thanks SEW much for the prompt response! I can't wait to make one today!
@@TheCraftsChannel This was a really helpful gauge! Thank you!❤
It seems thats the template doesn't exist, but thank you

Approximately what size are your rectangles? Halves of fat quarters maybe?
Er... now you're asking. From memory they were about 16cm by 26cm but you can make the pouches any size, c x
Love all your ideas, have you ever made a Bible cover
No, but I've done a demo that might be suitable for you here - ua-cam.com/video/cQMHwd_4oJU/v-deo.html c x
@@TheCraftsChannel Thank you so much, I am now making your fold over clutch. love your stuff.
@@judycarroll9738 ah, thank you, glad you're enjoying them, c x
Great project! How thick is the wadding that you're using? Many thanks
Erm... I think it's 2oz. It's no more than 1.5mm thick and is a cotton blend from Vlieseline, c x
Thank you 😊
@@TheCraftsChannel could you use thin fleece instead of wadding if you didn't have any wadding?
@@beccismith2306 yes, I would think that'd be fine, c x
@@TheCraftsChannel thank you ❤️
How difficult would it be to waterproof this?

✨Hiya Corinne, thanks so much for sharing definitely going to give this a try💫
measurements?
Have not given any as the pouch is made to your requirements, c x
I have watched the turning out of that strap over and over and I just don’t get it, it doesn’t work at all for me…
