Amanda Balon as Annie sings Maybe

Bronte Amanda Balon joined the Broadway Tour as the youngest orphan Molly when she was 8 years old. The following year she played the role of Duffy (the 2nd oldest) and covered the role of Annie. In her third year she was a shoe in for the role of Annie at the age of 10. She opened as "Annie" in her hometown of Orlando at the Bob Carr PAC. Amanda received great reviews. The one negative was that she was too tiny for the role of Annie and had to wear shoe lifts or boots with heels to make her taller than the girl playing "Molly" (who was interestingly 2 years older than Amanda). The "high-heels" did not hamper any of her performances and her dancing was faultless. Amanda played the lead role from 2007-2008. She turned down continuing the role for the 2008 - 2009 year but did return to play the role of "Annie" for 6 weeks and assist in the role of Kate after the new Annie "Tianna Stevens" was let go. The role of Annie was then given to the 2008-2009 u/s Madison Kerth who watched Amanda perform "Annie" at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood California. Balon's given name is Bronte Amanda Balon but she is more known by her middle name, Amanda.

Amanda was a terrific Annie. Her acting made me forget that she was a girl playing Annie. She WAS Annie.
