I've lived in 8 states. Everyone likes to say "Im from "this State" and we have the worst drivers. Here in WA, they take the crown hands down no contest. Like there is bad drivers everywhere but WA has a whole different level of insanity. It's amazing anyone ever makes it home.
2:47 I cannot understand the mentality of someone who would run a red light at that speed, crash into the driver’s side of the car so hard that it flies a block, and then runs away without a care about the person they potentially just murdered.
@@SeattleTrafficCams Reflectors are great. I would pay an extra penny per gallon in fuel taxes if it was dedicated to planting reflectors in the lane stripes. I also like the places where there is almost no shoulder between the fog line and the ditch or downslope into a swamp and the fog line hasn't been repainted since 1974.
Put down your phones, slow down, and stop smoking weed and drive it's a dui. Smh Every time I go into Seattle, I smell and see smoke from someone lighting up a bowl or joint. To those who do it and think their driving is fine? YOUR WRONG.
I’ve literally never crashed at all in 10 years of driving including multiple forms of commercial driving large vehicles. 99% of people probably can’t drive while high and I do believe it should be a DUI. But in reality, and in studies, Weed is nowhere near as bad as alcohol or being tired or texting. Texting/phones are way more of a dangerous and prevalent problem. Same with Alcohol.
I missed a great wrong way clip. When the detour was opened on 99 in Milton I was going north and a car was in the left lane going south. It wasn't until couple days later going through again that it occurred to me that both lanes were north bound and the videos on my camera had been copied over.
The u-turn at 4:38 (greenwood ave n), I was there. It was crazy. It was a hard crash. There was blood everywhere. One person didn't have their seatbelt on either.
Yikes - that sounds traumatic to see. It's scary how fast people go on Greenwood - that road could definitely use some traffic calming measures, especially since 99 is just a few blocks away.
Spending my life here, I learned when sitting at a red light or stopped in the road, watch your rear view. I was once on i90 taking the exit to I5 about 15 years ago. 3 cars in front someone bounced off the guardrail, everyone slams on brakes. I was right before the curve. I was slowing, glanced in my rearview, saw this car speeding along not paying attention. So I floored it and pulled in the triangular median seperating the exit from i90 going into to sodo. The car slammed on its brake and smashed into the car in front of me going about 40, that car bumps into the one in front. Bits of cars bounce off my car as I go in the median and carefully enter into i90 to go around Exits all screwed up now. Theres 4 wrecked cars. Always watch your rear view.
I ride a big dual sport (Tiger) and ride in the inside or outside lanes so I can go to the grass to avoid being hit. Got pushed into the median a couple of times by cell phone drivers. I carry a tube of Daisey BBs for tailgaters.
The city is too chicken to publish these and face blowback from real estate, developer and Chamber of Commerce interests. No investor wants the convenient, persistent visual of even minor accidents by their home or business.
Possibly ... exactly where / when did it take place? It might be too late to get footage from the traffic cameras, but I can take a look. You could also reach out to the agency that runs the bus (probably King County Metro or Sound Transit) and request footage from the bus cameras.
Wow. I knew that Seattle has become a clown town with drivers and bicyclist and some pedestrians-buy I never knew how many traffic incidents were occurring. Dang.
I know the archiving site I get most of these clips from (SafetyVid.org) sends serious/fatal crashes to SPD. I've had folks reach out to me to get footage from crashes they were involved in, but haven't had an insurance company reach out directly.
Every day I'm glad my man drives a bus; whenever a bad driver tries to play chicken or obliviously shoot across four lanes in front of him (actual thing that happened), the bus always wins. Plus with all the cameras Metro busses have, they can't lie and blame him for it.
3:19 I'll never forget hearing a judge explain to someone why they were at 100% at fault for a collision: "It doesn't matter how fast the other car was moving, it's your job to ensure you have the clearance to make a turn, or merge, before you do so." This is a clear example of why not paying attention is more dangerous than just speeding. It wouldn't have mattered how fast the speeder was going, the other driver flat out didn't look.
Yeah, I think there are some situations where speed definitely plays a role, but the driver at 3:19 definitely seemed like they weren't paying attention at all. Thanks for watching!

I came from a different generation my first gun I got at 12 years old. It was a 22 rifle. I never committed a crime or killed any animal with it was for targets only. Since I’ve had 25 different guns and I have never harmed a person with a firearm and they want to limit my ownership by banning certain weapons. This is not fair considering my grandfather and great grandfather use those weapons to defend our country.

Lol, yeah, we do it different on the west coast for sure 😂
WA native here guessing you've never lived in Colorado.
i take it you have never lived/driven in Boston then? Cause Boston drivers got Seattle beat by a whole lot.
You’ve never lived in Florida then LOL
Also Michigan has the worst road quality within 3000 miles of

Yeah, same - some people truly just don't care about anyone else.
might have been the frame rate, but it looked like that driver was limping when he was fleeing so hopefully he was found at some point
That sun coming out just after it rains is super bright even from the pavement.
It really is! I also hate the dark rainy nights where you can barely even see the markings on the road.
@@SeattleTrafficCamsI also hate intense fog.

Too many bad drivers with driver licenses.
Way too many - and who knows if they even have licenses...
Coming home from college in a week, good refresher on what I have to deal with!
Safe travels, and good luck!

5:34 very impressive driving
3:57 The best part of that one is it's "No Left Turn except Transit" SB on Jackson.
Hah, I missed that - that makes it even worse!
Driving in Seattle sucks, so many low skill drivers that don't seem to know the basic rules of the road or just don't care.
Dont forget about the Canadian truck drivers with a cell phone stuck in their turban. Those are some scary drivers because they dont care.
