Epic trout fishing in New Zealand.

This was the only water I could find that wasn't raging after all the rain. It was not a dry start for the season. I managed 7 fish for the day but it really was hard going in the end and I had to bail. Once the water levels have come back down, I will go miles up into this fishery in search of the big ones that lurk up there. For now it was a satisfying start to the season. Love that red fly rod! I just realized that while I'm freezing my tail off in the middle of winter in the Midwestern US, you'll be basking in the sun catching monster trout...I'm pretty jealous, not gonna lie. Thanks for another great video.

Hey Ethan. yes the Rod is my daughters :) I thought I would give it a go this summer. Anything over 1 pound makes it bend like a bastard. yes we are going into Summer now. It should all be on in another month. Stay tuned mate and I will increase that jealousy ten fold. Stay safe in that country of yours.

yes we are, From December through till March we should have of big terresterials for the trout to munch out on!
