That's not true. Donald Trump as president asked for the laws to be changed because right now, if you're in the U.S. and you claim asylum, you can't be deported. Trump tried to get around that several times, and every time the courts said he was breaking the law. This bill would have changed that. ALSO, the only reason that funding for Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel is in this bill is that House Speaker Mike Johnson last fall said he didn't want to pay for those things unless they were paired up with border legislation.
