Quite a few people say that the Gerber Armbar needs a lock on the driver: and, when demonstrating its flaws they appear to be trying to get it to fold. However, the design of the screwdriver places the bit the other side, in line, of the pivot point, which should and does make it difficult to getting it to collapse.
I EDC the Swiss Tool Spirit and think that its pretty hard to beat. And yes, I feel its better than the Leatherman Wave, which I also have. I have the Swisstool too, but its too bulky for me. Victorinox is more refined than Leatherman.
At about 6:10 you critique the hammer tool. When it is flat it leans against the frame. When it is deployed (hinge mode) it still leans against the frame. So no weight/pressure is on the hinge but the frame.
In this edition of the Multitool VLOG, I give overviews of: The Gerber Armbar Drive Multitool, Blackfire HDMT1, Tacklife 16 in 1 Screwdriver, Victorinox Swisstool, and Powerdelux 8 in 1 Keychain tool. In the text description box, all tools shown are listed in order of appearance. Enjoy :]
In fairness to the butt end of the Gerber. When the hammer surface is in play, and you are hitting something, the frame is what is getting the blunt of the force not the pivot. Similar was the pry tool feature. Look at how it stabilizes at the bottom of the frame on each side. It’s pretty stout, I’ve used mine to tighten some traditional knives blade play up and no loosening or anything
The part of the frame that reinforces it has some spring to it though, so some force is still hitting the pivot. But, I am definitely glad to hear that you have used it successfully, it gives me faith that it will hold up to most normal uses.
Bruh! I use the Armbar nearly every second day and have no issues with it. For light-duty use (which is it's intended purpose) the non-locking drive is fine. Did you use the Armbar on a daily basis for a period of time before commenting on this multi-tool in your video?
I can see how it would be fine for moderate use, perhaps I'll make an updated vid on it one of these days - yes this was only initial impressions because it was new back then. I have to say, you sound like I called your baby ugly, and that was not my intention, I don't think I sounded too negative, but maybe I did, sorry, I am glad it is serving you well and your testimonial is valuable.

Hey WeAllJuggleKnives, I'm trying to decide between my first EDC and I think for what I'm looking for (a strong locking blade, a longer driver, easily available cap lifter, and good pair of scissors). I'm think I'm deciding between the Leatherman Skeletool (I'm thinking of possibly modding it to add scissors (thoughts?), the Victorinox S14, and the Gerber Armbar. I actually think I like the Armbar's features the best, but not the quality (I've heard the scissors suck, and the non-locking driver makes it an annoying pain). I've watched alot of your videos now and was wondering what your suggestions would be?
I would choose the Victorinox, because of the blade and scissors. Also consider the Roxon KS, but you would have to carry something extra for the screwdriver and opener.
I am looking for a full tang fixed blade knife around 7 inch blade for a tactical combat and self defense knife that I can use for survival for around 100 dollars I have been looking for months and can't find one please let me know what you would recommend
@@WeAllJuggleKnivesI dont like ka bar but I will get a kizlyar is the Phoenix 2 good I dont like the wooden grip on the phoenix do they have a phoenix with a rubberized grip

I bought the Gerber. The slip joint is so weak as to be nonexistent. The things looks good but is kinda disappointing. Choose the leather man Free T4 instead.

I used to hate them too. Mainly it was the Bear Grylls made in China line that I didn't like, back in the day. But they've redeemed themselves a bit with some of their other items. Mainly the Strongarm and Truss. The Prybrid is also useful.

If there was no pivot, that piece would come loose. So, it is holding it in there against force.
The Armbar prybar works well to open paint tins, and the tapping hammer is great for replacing the lids.
Good to know!

Do the tools on the Blackfire lock?
I thoroughly enjoy your approach to multitools. Great video as always
Thanks, my friend. I have noticed people do prefer this format of showing a wide variety.

Welcome! I hope Blackfire comes up with some more multitools.
I saw the Gerber tool in a store today and just assumed it had a pocket clip. The design screams, “Clip.”
It's unfortunate but you can buy an add-on on Etsy.
As a person who is making a list of all Multi Tool brands for a new Wiki, that Darkfire Multitool was a surprise, thanks for helping in the research.
Sounds like a great project! Yeah, it was a surprise to me as well, I thought I knew about most of the MTs.

Check out the Ka-Bar BK7 or Kizlyar Phoenix.

They have 3 or 4 different models, I'd go with the brown or green micarta scales, I got one of those.
I got the Phoenix after seeing it on this channel. The micarta scales make it very comfortable. It is a great knife!

Allen Driver. A great man. ☝😐
Can be useful :]
That blackfire looks a bit like the gerber mp1
The bit driver yeah, I've considered getting an MP1, but it's a bit pricey compared to my other Gerbers.
That's definitely a deal 16 buck's, hell yeah.
👊💀👍
I'm all about them deals, thanks for continuing to watch, bro!
And it couldn’t have come at a better time!
Lots of people stuck inside these days, I know!

Yeah I end up usually having to hold the base of the driver which cuts down on its reach.
man that Armbar is better than the fucking FREE series..
Yeah, it's a lot less clunky than the T4.
Wow 😯!!!👍🏽
Thanks for watching! :]
Well .....gréât finds if this word is english
You are thé multitool detective for real 🧐😄
Thanks a lot for this overview

I hope the end of the world is being gentle with you!
WAJK...lmao on the multitool for giants comments...good stuff. That is a tool with integrity (and, I'll bet, a lot of uses)...
Glad you dig it, bro!
Non locking bit driver on that Gerber was a huge mistake
agreed
This was an expensive video for me.😉
Excellent :]
Blackfire is my favorite edc, but no longer made by it factory ,,,,
Aye, I often grab my Blackfire MT and tell it, "you are THE LAST of your kind!" :D
Why the hell not put a clip? Not buying it now.
If Gerber's Quality just would be half as good as their Design...
So true
I'll stick to my leatherman. Even the cheapest leatherman is better then a Gerber! IMO

Thank you for watching :]

Better late than never :D
Dnt know why but i hate gerber...gosh even the logo sucks nuts. Take care
