In this episode of the multitool discussion VLOG: Bibury 16 in 1 Multitool overview, Multiforce Multitool overview, Estwing Keychain Utility Knife, Leatherman K2 yeah it is a little overpriced, my newest Victorinox, why I still like Farmer X, Xintong multitool overview.
The Victorinox Explorer has all the most useful tools that this one does, including the in-line Philips and magnifier, at a lower price and a little thinner profile. Definitely my personal favorite pattern.
Check this out, last year was in Home Depot, they had a Wingman with a Micra on sale for $19.99? I asked clerk and they said it was correct. Bought three and gave away at Xmas!
I have the pioneer x and I thought it would be awesome if it had the saw too. So of course I bought the farmer x as soon as it came out. It’s my favorite victorinox for sure.
The multiforce is near to on par with the Wave. The blades are sharp, the scissors ubove par, the bit driver and extender also well done. I added a larger bit for the MT and the included bit in the extender. A con the weight, 10oz (ST 300 weight). With the case extender near 1lb. Con 2 the chamfering on the blade opener hole, almost too much, it's somewhat harder to open. Con 3 the bit holder is for ball detent bits only a magnet is needed. In conclusion, A fine home MT or backup to the Wave.
Probably because they don't want the force going directly against the lock, but with removable files like on the Surge I suppose they could made it 4 sided.
Good reviews. Does the Farmer X seem okay in the wt and thickness categories? I know the alox knives are thinner in general but wonder if four layers is pushing it. I like your Compact Farmer X idea but might opt for a thinner/flat sided Phillips instead of the electrician/s blade. I totally agree the knife blade having the excellent serrations. I typically have more than one knife on me anyway :).
If you're not sure about the Phillips design I'm referring to, it's like the one Wenger put on a few of their 85's. But I've never used one and don't know how well they work. That's why I said "might". It seems like it should work fine. I just remembered the Wingman and Sidekick also use the type of Phillips.
I could live without the fishscaler so I'd like to see a Swisschamp minus that, i.e. a Handyman plus inline Phillips/magnifying glass layer. Probably I'll end up getting a Swisschamp though because the fishscaler takes up minimum space/weight and I can always use it for eating olives or chips (fries).
LOL .."the dark side", another great vlog, thanks WAJK ! i have a question, always trust your advice ...might you recommend your go to Flashlight choice that also doubles as a decent EDC powerbank ? i remember seeing you use a particular flashlight as a powerbank to change other devices etc, but can't seem to find in your vids. also, if you have a good/decent EDC stand-alone powerbank that you use ? we just had a blackout for past few days here in the northeast ...and even though i had most things covered, could really use a good powerbank, and/or a flashlight that can double as a powerbank in a pinch. thanks WAJK !!
its not obviously NOT as far as a wave replacement....for one...no pinching....and should have shown that scissor performance. The file not the best.. I like the blades on the opposite side WAY WAY better than the way its done on the wave. much better while using the pliers.
Great points. It is always valuable to get testimony from someone who has owned the same multitool for a while and learned the ins and outs of it over time. You sound like a different person in your comment than you do when speaking in your videos, though. Is there something going on with you, I am a little concerned.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives haha, I understand what you mean lol. Problem with text is that tone isn't easy to convey. I want angry or anything. Btw I love your content, you and Texas tool crib are by far my favorite multitool gurus 👍
@@WeAllJuggleKnives as far as my last video...I was trying to be quite for some wierd reason. I am a much louder and passionate Italian/Irish IRL and in other videos at times.
Ah that's awesome, well I am glad I said something because I wouldn't have known you're a fan otherwise, I sincerely appreciate your viewer-ship and I can tell that you have a great passion for multitools, just like me.
Great reviews, as always. Ty. With the Bibury I'd rather have a nylon sheath than the hard case (not really into tool clips). $40 bucks for a Multi-force? Rather have a $40-$50 Leatherman product. Love my Surge (working in the warehouse).
The leathermen wave which the multiforce is a copy of sells for 80 bucks on sale the multi force sells for 36 bucks that's almost half the price it also has standardized bit holder and a better steel with 8cr.
have you tried the $ 8 mossyoak multitool with pocket clip? i bought one for my helper while i use a leatherman actually im using a gerber but he really likes the mossy oak and has used it all year . iv used his as well and its great with the G10 handles.
Yes, that was a good one, I used to recommend it to people all the time, the price was great, I wish they would bring that model back, I would still recommend it!
The first tool seems worthy of a full review. It’s less chunky than a lot of budget Chinese multi tools. That plus the good scissors make it an interesting option. Also, I’d be curious to know what you do with all these tools you review. You have quite a catalog of reviews, so I can only imagine that you live like a crazy cat lady, but with tools instead of cats (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).
I keep them in an old Cobalt tool chest, the 5 drawer kind that sits on top of the rolling tool cabinets. Cobalt doesn't make them anymore, but Craftsman and other companies make them now. They hold a lot, all the current Leatherman models would only fill one drawer.
So you now have a Multiforce but choose not to review it? Why is that? It's getting a lot of buzz on YT as a LM Wave+ replacement and I would love to hear your take on it. PS - BTW, you can always have Walmart ship it to you if you don't want to make the drive and get a side of COVID while you're visiting.
Two many crazies. Leatherman fanatics will not even give it a chance, and Leatherman haters want me to say it is twice as good in every way. Just between us though, I think it is a good deal, that is why I bought one. It is manufactured by Work Pro having 3 other multitools made by Work Pro, I knew what I could expect from it. Leatherman prices are high and in other countries their prices are astronomical, someone told me their newest multitool is something like $300-400 in France and Germany.
all multitool with plyers break so easily :S i had soo much leatherman break from simple wire cutting..., however i got an old victorinox i always use the can/ bottle opener and the screwdriver
It is true, multitools are convenient but I've heard many people say they broke their pliers, Gerber, Sog, and even Leatherman :] This is why some Knipex brand regular pliers are good to have.
Really? Glad I read about this. I was planning on buying a Leatherman Surge. I guess I'll just buy a high quality pliers and stick with my one hand trekker
Not surprising that an American is championing leather man, yet again! Have had three and they all have broke in half at the same point, not happened with my sog tools , my Gerber's and the best of the best just keeps on monstering everything , my Swiss tool , as the old saying goes, there's nothing that lives up to the original !!!!
If Chinese manufactures start using like 14C28N blades and 420 steel on their construction, Leatherman will lose their grip on multi tools. The gap isn’t very wide anymore IMO.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives yes American made are very good quality Most of people make fun of Chinese products But those products are Cheapos all from Chinese black factory If you buy branded Chinese products they are amazing BTW Thanks for replying The video is very nice Have a nice day ;)
I dont live in usa nor china and i can say i support both Leatherman and Ganzo. They both have their value matched with their price... considering labor cost ofcourse. I wish leatherman's price were 10-15% lower though. Labor cost is hard to justify in my opinion.
9:58 with that hook you can also carry heavy plastic bags without cutting your hands.

I want to say it was $24.99 but I did buy the set for my dad boy has the price crept up 🤦♂️
You can use a wood saw to widen the paracord hole.

Oh yeah, Farmer X is pretty easy to carry, I would have it loose in the side cargo pocket and won't really feel it.
Bibury, i love the bit driver option, wish it was on this one

I'm definitely with you on the fish scaler. A champ without the scaler and corkscrew would be awesome.

Stand alone pliers are needed then. MTs are compromises for a tool box and do have limitations. Having an MT or three can save the day.
Love the K4 and I must have one of the estwing utility knives.
Xintong looks like it's the same as Splitman brand
Yes it is, on Ali Express it's the Splitman.

I do a lot more positive reviews of non-Leatherman multitools, definitely not known as a champion of Leatherman around UA-cam.
Loving the 420 steel lol
I got my wave for $20 at a yard sale... I kinda feel sorry for whomever it belonged to but it looked like some sort of divorce sale.
Their loss is your gain. Per haps that guy has the Wave + now to replace it.

That is true. Kizer is already using S35VN for folding knives, if they put it on a multitool it will take things to the next level.
