3:12 - Try putting a small zip tie on the blade hole and cut the extra off, so it just leaves the notch sticking out. See if that works. It will give something bigger for your thumb to grip onto.
Had to try one of these based on your review. Ended up buying three! (one for me and two for dad and father-in-law for Christmas) Seems a great value for the price.
Hi, I recently found your channel and really am liking it. About this pocket tool -- part of what I like is that it does NOT have a pocket clip; it has instead a carabiner clip that attaches nicely to the ring (for keys) inside my purse. [B/c girls needs multi tools too.] Thanks!
Run a zip tie through the finger groove of the single - hand - opening blades, with the "knuckle" on top. Now you have a better/proud/indexing knob for accessing your blade.
@@txtoolcrib update: got mine in yesterday. If this had scissors, it’d probably be perfect for most days. The Diamond coating is way better than I thought it would be!
I pretty much like this tool............except, I would ditch the can opener and cutting hook in favor of a good scissors and a wood saw. Thanks for sharing.
I like it. I really wish makers would replace the can opener on some models with something else. It’s just not something I’ll ever use. For example on the surge, I bet there is something that would be a lot more useful than a can opener for a tool like that.
I've got a little tech 🔦trach on my keys and it's still working fine after a year or so if it's not broken don't fix it🤔thanks for sharing this with us buddy 👍
I always have a pocket knife with a pocket clip. Multiple tools clipped to pockets are irritating. Being able to clip to a belt loop seems more advantageous. I always struggle though with a multi tool that does not have pliers.
At $20 this thing is perfect. I can easily find an awl that would fit in place of the can opener and tap some holes for a pocket clip. But I am completely fine with just clipping it to my pants with the caribiner. You will never please the edc community.
Can opener is decent for having an ability to open cans if you're out in the wild and camping ... and a SHTF situation for preppers, to open emergency canned foods/liquids. ;) Thus I see why they leave those can openers on many multitools. If not that then I'd leave the file on, and I'd like to see: 1) a 1/4" hex bit driver, and 2) scissors At the least, they could've put a 1/4" hex bit driver in the back of the handle, where the glass breaker is? As for never pleasing the edc community: I agree because everyone has different priorities since they're usually in different situations than many other people, and they want tailor custom tools for their situations. I thought they could've done something about: being able to customize the multitool for your own needs. It'd be like going to Subway and ordering a sandwich. At the counter, you tell them all of the ingredients you want on your sandwich. Why no company has done this is beyond me. That'd take off quick if someone did it right. I'm a newbie to looking deep into the topic of multitools so, maybe there is a company that does this and I've not heard of it yet. Surprising, either way. In the meantime, making a knife like seen above, you have to consider what *most* people will likely be using often. Number one would have to be 1/4" hex bit driver. Everyone runs into a situation where they have to screw in something, or drill this or that. Having the ability to pick and choose which size bit to use is amazing. Not being stuck with one size only. Same with scissors. Everyone will likely be using scissors pretty often, for misc. things: cutting string, rope, paper, etc. So I'd say those two are very reasonable suggestions.
Very interesting little tool, I'd never seen this one before, I've got the Swiss+ Tech 17 in 1 micro pliers and they're great for small electronics work. They make really good quality micro/keyring tools. That phillips driver is a terrible design tho', so many Phillips screws are recessed !
Great review 👍... Just a heads up brother, I think you'll find that the box cutter is not part of the rope cutter but in fact is part of the can opener/screwdriver....
Appears to be a good tool considering the price It would have been even better if they used the edge of the file to make it a three sided file. Great tool though I really like it Thanks for the review :)
Not a big fan of multi-tool scissors myself, so its a non issue. They are barely useable in my book. I think the philips head is much better than the Leatherman. Looks like it would grab and seat better on a fastener head. A pocket clip is a non issue for me on a multi-tool. The fact that it is made in China is a major deal breaker for me!
They need to go too Gerber show them how to do diamond file and a locking system for their smaller multi tools. A pocket clip would be nice but for around $18 you can not complain. Can openers and bottle opener’s big waste of space on multi tool.
I'm ok with can openers that are usefully multi function. Like leatherman's with the wire stripper underneath or Victorinox with a flathead in the tip that also fits #2 phillips. Bare, single function can openers however I agree need to go the way of the dedicated horse hoof pick.
@@Claudius_Nero I agree with the combo tool being better. But honestly, what other tool would fit/replace the same slot? Or would we just save the space/width/weight and opt out of it?
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic It depends on the multi tool and what is missing. Like how the Wave is missing an awl, or many multi tools are missing (and would benefit) from a good package opener.
@@Claudius_Nero Since the price is right and the bushings seem to be tool-serviceable, maybe Swiss+ Tech should make a customizable tool set, where the user can swap toolsets in and out?
It has got a spring loaded pocket clip already. very nice but for the uk illegal with a locking knife blade The useless phillips screwdriver should be a Pozzi 2 for europe

I always like to use the diamond file as a sharpener for other knives. Also the fact that it has the carabiner takes place of the pocket clip for me

As always a very pleasant surprise on the field of multitools ! Thank you, sir !
You’re very welcome.
Really enjoy your videos Ben. Had a few days off over the holidays and binge watched your stuff haha
Can’t thank you enough. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos.
This is actually rather impressive. It beat what I expected.
It exceeded my expectations as well.
Me too. We get a lot of these sort of cheapies here in Oz. They are always crappy. This one looks great value

That’s a good idea!
Nice review, I bought one immediately based on this review - and I consider the carabiner instead of a pocket clip to be an attractive selling point.
Always wondered about Swiss Tech and their quality.
Excellent review. I just ordered one of these units. I have an old Swiss Tech from the early 90's. Cheers from Fort Worth. Yee-Haw
That's not bad at all for the price. A good one to keep in the glove box and not worry too much if it gets stolen.
Good one for a gift to a niece/nephew/son/daughter as well.
Fantastic review!
Thank you for your work on this one.😊
It has a Diamond file!! Oh, I need to order one of these. Scissors would be nice, but I absolutely love tools with good Diamond files
You don’t see that often, nice they had it with this one.

I love Swiss+Tech tools! I have their utili-key as my keychain EDC, saved my ass a few times when needed to repair car relays.
This is the first Swiss+Tech I have bought, I like it. I’ll probably end up trying some more.

What would you suggest? I kind of like the one on the Surge, as well as most of the Leatherman lineup, because it offers multi functionality.

glad you keep putting out good reviews
More to come!
Have you seen victorinox came out with the Swiss tool mix with one handed opening!?
It’s one of my latest videos. I finally got my hands on one.
Think they do a version with scissors for fishing. Can't see this version on their website though. Looks good for the money.
I’ll try to look into it.
Would that full dimension phillips head work as a bit driver? I'm going to buy this based on your review. Love your channel. Thanks much.
Very cool for the price. Great video 👍

Pocket-clip, scissors, and maybe a bit driver to fill the empty space. I'd gladly pay double the price.
Yeah, I could see a lot of variants of this one. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

Huh... very interesting tool.
Not too bad, in my opinion.
I like the fact there’s no awl on it. Too many multi tools have them and I’d like more options of tools without it on there.
I don’t mind that, though I would like to see another version that offered one for those that do find the awl or scissors useful.
Glass breaker is almost obligatory as a bottle opener these days

Stop putting can openers on work tools. I have never needed to open a can of beans on a job site and never will.
