Now that's how you do a comparison and prove your point😁
I just installed Red Led Brake lights (Red Lense) on my Xterra.

I have seen some comments about the white led being more easy to see in daytime so I replaced my two brake lights with a red led but my third (middle) brake light has a white led to try and get the best of both worlds

I didn't know when I replaced my incandescent tail/brake light bulbs with LED but I put red ones in.
    They are fantastically bright!
Even in daylight they blast through showing exactly what I'm doing ahead.
Awesome watch and thanks for confirming my mad idea of a couple of years ago.

I saw a car last year that had LEDs so bright that it left me seeing purple dots in my vision for a few seconds. Bright is good, but only up to a certain level.

Thank you for this video. I just got pulled over for my brake lights and thought I should opt in for leds instead.

Great example of how to do a comparison.
However if you're on a bike, in the rain behind any car with LED brake bulbs it's a f##### nightmare.
200 super bright red stars making it impossible (or really dodgy) to filter with safety not helped by no one using the handbrake these days, only footbrake.
Need to do a vid comparing Stealth HID converted headlights with std headlights including if there's a proper cut off.

That _was_ the brake light. 382 bulbs are single filament, so the bulb it replaced only had the one function: brake

thank you for this information. is there a difference between red and amber LEDs behind a red lens?

  • @panvomacka9079

So, i noticed a very weird thing, can someone please explain this: I replaced a regular white bulb behind a red lense in my taillight, with a red LED bulb, but the light is surprisingly more washed out than the original. The original is more deep red, while the red led behind a red lense, while a bit brighter, is much lighter red, sort of even amber. I tried a white led also, and it is even more light/amber, but how come the original WHITE ordinary bulb combined with red lense produces much deeper red, than a RED LED behind the SAME lense? For me it doesn't make sense.
What LED bulb to buy to ensure really deep red light? Are there more versions of red LEDs regarding the depth of color? (this sort of things are not much visible on photos/video). For example i notice on the road that new Mercedeses have the deepest red tail lights of all, much deeper than for example Skoda, while both using LED. How do they do it?

Filament lamps are a broad spectrum of colours, the lens lets through the re part of the spectrum.
LED lights are not broad spectrum. if the lens is letting through one frequency of red and the the LED is producing a different shade then they won't work well together

Original incandescent bulb is not white. They are a bit yellow. About 3700k. The white we are talking about here is around 5500-6000k which has more blue colour.

      @gilang27 3 роки тому

So in order to achieve like what mercedes does, you need a strong LED output and the red one. Incandescent is strong and cheap too, if you don't mind.

behind a red lens? I tried that, its just a slightly different shade of red, I put a green led behind my red lens and red mixed with green looks yellow/amber

...could you measure temperature of LEDs vs standard bulbs? I got my self some switch back LED's and they are hitting over 85'C...
    Cheers...
