  • Purchased this 3-pt tiller from Tractor Supply on 3/27/24. That night I watched a video put out by NoNonsenseKnowHow on UA-cam. On his video he points out the rust and water migration into brand new units. He also gives suggestions to TSC on ways to prevent it. Apparently, his suggestions have stalled somewhere in corporate. Several years later it was my turn to purchase a tiller. The unit seems well built BUT needs attention to details concerning paint and internal preservation. Suggest they put pipe plugs into the gear box fill ports and add the vented plugs to the parts box. It would be better for the end user to install them and prevent moisture from entering the unit while in shipping and sitting in the yard lots. *EDITED* I read my supplied manual and in the maintenance section it describes (for long term inactivity) removing the vented plugs and installing solid plugs! And if they have to continue shipping without gear oil, they should be more particular to better rust prevention to the internal components. ***UPDATE*** I contacted TSC Corporate and was eventually given the correct info for TARTER GATE, the manufacturer of this tiller. ONE call to Tarter Gate started the fix! I sent them the video link and additional pics with a request for affected replacement parts, namely gaskets, seals and bearings. Yesterday I picked up these parts (under warranty) from my local TSC store. With that kind of customer service, they have earned the right to keep my business! And the tiller? I'm very happy with how beefy the frame is and overall build. Great job Tarter Gate and TSC!

Assembled in America, components in China, so yes, very much possible!

That’s sad, manufacturing should be more in tune with their product.
