I feel like you guys should do an update video... SInce then all these forks have got upgraded and now the Yari and the Pike and literally identical, apart from the damper... Motion control vs Charger 2.1, and all you really get from that is high speed compression adjust, which I dont know if it justify the more expensive price tag on the Pike...
Knowing the differences was easy in the 90s. There was mainly Quadra and Judy. Judy was better than Quadra for reasons that were easily explainable. Now such a big line up with just slight differences between some models.
So what’s the difference in ride performance? How do they differ in adjustability? If I have a Yari as standard on my bike is there any point changing to a Lyrik or Pike?
Personally the Yari is a great fork but upgrading is not crucial, at the same time there are advantages to the Lyrik. It depends on what frame and your riding style to. The big difference between the Yari and let's say the Pike is the travel as well as the cartridge in each of those forks. A bare-bones break down of the two is this. The Yari can be extended travel wise about 20mm more than the Pike and the damper isn't as "refined" as the Charger 2 in the Pike. I'd look at the Yari more as a big brute park style fork vs the Pike as maybe a little lighter more elite all-around fork. The Lyrik and Yari will have a bit of a weight penalty but typically the type of long travel bike those usually go on, it shouldn't matter much. Thanks for the inquiry and hopefully that helped!
This only raises more questions for me😐 whats good for just street. Bunny hop, jump curbs and maybe very small platforms if im feeling crazy. (Any brand)
You will need to change the front wheel. This uses the boost 110ml axel. You are on 9mmQR. Pike or revelation are better for your style of bike. 130ml travel is probably max on a marlin. But you can put anything you want on there, your bike bro
I used to work right next to Manitou in Santa Clarita and they gave me my first set of MTB bars, so when I got back into mountain biking I looked at their forks first. I'm having a hard time figuring out all of their different configurations, it's possibly more confusing than any other company I've looked at!
You can tell the Yari is cheap, 2018 170mm Yari came with my TR Patrol and I personally don't like it. It's harsh and "dumb" when things get rough. The 160 Pike on my hardtail is great though! You get what you pay for.

Can anyone tell me if the Revelation is to the Pike what the Yari is to the Lyrik. You don't see the Revelation spec'd much on complete bikes and definitely it doesn't get as much praise as the Yari. Price wise a Revelation is hardly more than a 35 Gold, but seems a lot better and certainly more upgradeable. To save $50 I'm not sure why a million bikes come stock with the 35 gold.
Hi there! I already have a pike but it's being performing quite bad perhaps it got a hit that closed a bit the angle and now it doesn't move smoothly. The thing is I wanted to buy a yari and change the cartridge for the rtc3 of my pike. Do you know if that might be possible?
I am not sure off the top of my head if that is possible. Send us an email to info@worldwidecyclery.com and one of our experts will get you an answer asap!
They do a 29+ which will take a 3” 29er, & if 27+ the 29er will take 3” 27.5 tyres, they are all boost 110 hubs, www.chainreactioncycles.com/rockshox-yari-rc-debonair-forks-boost-2018/rp-prod160853
Worldwide Cyclery ohhh that makes sense thanx, it's from around 2014 or 15.. Will be replaced by a proper XC fork in a few months, waiting to see what people think of that new Debon Air spring RS is putting in the Sid WC for the 2019 model
Thanks for the comparison. I have 150mm Yari. I'm wondering whether having a lockout will help on climbs. I've had some climbs where I could use help. If so I'm thinking about replacing my Yari with a Pike.
It really comes down to the type of climbs that you have. If you have long gradual fire road type climbs you might benefit from a lockout but if you are struggling with technical steep climbs you will want to have your damper in a more open position for traction and to help keep your front end down. :)
As a 175 pound cyclist, who does mainly trail and enduro with very minimal jumps, building on a pivot 2020 switchblade, would the pike or lyrik match me more? I would like the lyrik because of the stiffness, but if it is irrelevant in my use case then the lighter weight of the pike is certainly very enticing.

I am not sure off the top of my head if that is possible. Send us an email to info@worldwidecyclery.com and one of our experts will get you an answer asap!
GREAT THANKS A LOT!
which one should i use for three inch tires?
They do a 29+ which will take a 3” 29er, & if 27+ the 29er will take 3” 27.5 tyres, they are all boost 110 hubs,

Can you modify the Yari to function like a lyrik?
Yeah main difference between the 2 are the seals and damper, both can be replaced.
@@BeniKenesei is that hard to do? Where would I find the correct parts?
@@rsstnnr76 Not that easy, but nothing serious, many webshops have them, if you change out the damper its going to feel amazing, thats about 200$.
@@BeniKenesei ok. Thanks.
@@BeniKenesei it will be a noticeable difference?
Can Lyrik Ultimate 27.5 can fit in 29er?
Where is the recon?
I see you, kenny powers
are the rockshox recon rl 140mm any good?
Definitely great for the money!
thank you very much! i believe they have black stanchions aswell which sure look good :)
the longer travel part seems wrong... my Yari is only 120mm travel :/ is it fake?
It depends on which year and model Yari you have. The travel range can be anywhere from 100-180mm of travel.
Worldwide Cyclery ohhh that makes sense thanx, it's from around 2014 or 15..
Will be replaced by a proper XC fork in a few months, waiting to see what people think of that new Debon Air spring RS is putting in the Sid WC for the 2019 model
Damn i dont even have RockShox tk 30 :( rich man spotted ^ btw great video ☝️
Thanks for the comparison. I have 150mm Yari. I'm wondering whether having a lockout will help on climbs. I've had some climbs where I could use help. If so I'm thinking about replacing my Yari with a Pike.
It really comes down to the type of climbs that you have. If you have long gradual fire road type climbs you might benefit from a lockout but if you are struggling with technical steep climbs you will want to have your damper in a more open position for traction and to help keep your front end down. :)
How do i lockout my pike??
I bought a yari will it fit a 27.5 3.0 tire, please help.
Send our guys an email with a serial number and we can let you know! :)
How much mm does the lyrik have?
Is Lyrik good on dirt bike?
What are the best on the three???
What about the rear shocks
As a 175 pound cyclist, who does mainly trail and enduro with very minimal jumps, building on a pivot 2020 switchblade, would the pike or lyrik match me more?
I would like the lyrik because of the stiffness, but if it is irrelevant in my use case then the lighter weight of the pike is certainly very enticing.
Not much really, but it's amazing how many people fall for the marketing hype...
Flying Lap Productions So What should I buy?? Pike or Yari??? Whats the difference?
I think the answer is to be honest about the style of your riding?
Pike has the better dampening. So do you want/need that?
But my dad has a yari on his bike. And it's got 130 mm
Yeah you can get them with less travel but most ppl. go for the Pike when you don´t need that much Travel.
The Yari RC is 150 to 180, but the MY17 Yari RC is 120 to 180
Adam Fricska Thanks didn't know that!
N Greco Yeah I have one on my bike 130 mm travel
Can a 27.5 fork be used with a 26 inch ?
