this channel is better than any film school
Holy hell, it's you!!!!!
I'm pretty late tho
One of the best video I've seen on youtube so far. .. 1)Bangladesh Bank heist by Kento Bento 2) Candy Rat records(2006) posts 3) Canon in D by Fun Two in 2006.4) all those guitar/ Piano covers in 2006-2008 before google steal our precious content sharing platform in the name of copyright. .. & this one has to be no.5. .. in between few others.
ALEX YOU'RE HERE!!
For real
One of these days I'll be watching a movie in a theater and saying, "I used to watch his videos on UA-cam."
not with the way he gives away his secrets smh
Actually that will be the way.
"Ideas can be stolen, skill cannot".
@@holachateau5676 Every techique is stolen. It's how we learn. What makes the art is how we use given techniques.
Just because a film professor tells you a cinema technique doesn't mean they can now not use it. That logic is completely idiotic. How would people learn anything?
@@bryceterry5302 smh at you, bud bud buddy boi
"It's up to you"
had me in tears
Why?
@@frankg846 It's just sadly beautiful
who else is procrastinating?
BananaBoat629 We should start a club , but later though
I'm down, just gimme a sec
Do you guys wanna start on that club tomorrow? I mean today is practically over.
@@isaiasyoyo Is it time to start the club yet?
wassup with the club?
Color Grading is my favorite part of post production :)
+Tobi Schnorpfeil haha du hier?
+MKFilms jeder ist hier 😂
+Magic Maker Ich dachte bis gerade eben, das kein deutscher ihn kennt 😂
+The Candor dachte ich auch :D
+The Candor natürlich gibts hier deutsche :D
the ending is so chill
such a lovely and creative way to talk about being creative! :)))
haha cheers Imi :)
A like isn't enough. I love the parallelism between traditional art and color grading! Informative but artistically explained. Nice.
thanks!
Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?
This video was just lovely. Thanks for sharing.
cheers Lowko :)
Lowko you here too, nice. :)
I'm so glad your tutorials are also individual pieces of art. Not only do we learn from your words, but we learn from even just watching the video, unlike some tutorials that are just recordings of the screen (although those are very helpful too)
Get to feel like "freeman" I see what you did there.
And from then on, he became Morgan Freeman
I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF
You could talk about picking up rubbish on the side of the highway and I would be interested.
10/10 would watch
Love how you compared the filming scenes with the paint. Really enjoyed that
You're a true artist... this video is a piece.
“It’s up to you”
This is how inspiring a better filmmaker
It truly amazes me how you make every single one of your tutorials so beautiful. You taught me how every small detail can make a big difference. Thank you so much!
bro really appreciate people like you. very motivational and helpful never really trying to take away but always trying to give back. God bless you bro and keep up the amazing work you are doing.
Your channel's style is the very definition of "artsy".
haha
Have you seen 'royal ocean film society'?
I love the sounds effects you added into the video. It added so much to it.
I pretty much loved not only the simplistic approach to the matter, but also the "set up" and "pay off" of this video. It's always a pleasure to watch the videos of this channel.
I find your videos so calming and I love the philosophical angle you take that is so different and creative compared to "tutorials". My casual interest in cameras is growing into a passion and your channel has played a massive part in that. Just wanted to say thank you :)
Ugh, you are so good, you are such an artist. I love everything you do.
the dialogue was everything. from the mellow tone in your voice to the calming music, perfect.
this is my new favorite channel. theres so much info and passion put into the videos its amazing
Brother! I love the way you edited this video! I know it took a lot of creativity and time to produce. So on behalf of all your viewers, I say, "thank you for your hard work!"
thanks Taylor, I appreciate that :)
You my friend are a bloody legend, you and Every Frame a Painting deserve Oscars in a category not yet though of.
I've seen countless color grading videos and still learned something. Well done!
Love your videos. I've been watching so many of them lately. Really inspired by your attitude towards filmmaking!
Oh boy Going into this I didn't know this would be such a good video.
your videos are always top quality! Respect
Every video you make speaks volumes about your creativity and talent. Excellent job and can't wait to see more of your work!
Thank you for this. This was the first and most helpful video I've ever watched about color correcting my own videos, and I use your color correcting tips all the time now on my channel. :) Honestly, sometimes I just click back here to listen to your voice and watch you paint, too, no lie. It's very relaxing. I hope you know that.
Simon - I love your work. Great enthusiasm and points nicely made. Greetings from Australia. Very minor point: It's up to you. There's an apostrophe mate. Not a huge criticism. Just saying. Otherwise, brilliant - love your work.
I was going to say that, too!
isnt that up to him ?
Simon is born teacher with you-tube videos as his medium.
I've only watched two of your videos so far and I have got to say...you are brilliant! Keep up the good work man! I love the detail in your videos and the dedication and the passion you put in your work! Good job :D
I needed this now! Thanks for being there for me, Simon!
Beautiful. I'm not a filmmaker my self, but I watch all of your videos because I'm passionate about music, photography, videos and anything that's art really. I think this is one of the best video of yours, a perfect example on how to discuss and educate on a topic and making art at the same time. Loved the short hints about the colors and brush throughout the video, ending with the complete painting, well done :)
really glad to hear this, I think all of the arts blend in and complement each other :)
I definately agree. That is one of your srongest point, not only you are competent in what is most essential for filmaking but you also have passion and a drive for learning new things in other artistic fields. I´m glad to see how your channel is growing with you, I wish you good luck for your future:)
I love to watch your vids while stoned
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO I'VE SEEN ON COLOR GRADING SO FAR. So much inspiration. Thanks for making this!
These videos are really emotional and they feel more like a movie than a UA-cam video/tutorial! Good job!
gaining useful information while relaxing to this tutorial video, perfect. Thank you!
glad you liked it :)
This was really dope!
DSLRGuide's been helping us out alot into filmmaking. The overall channel package is prestine, the intro, the audio, background music, and the overall efficiency of your tips and guides is very easy to absorb. Thank you ! keep it up !
I appreciate that :)
I aways feel so inspired every time I watch his videos, they are informative yet cinematic and awesome. I can always learn and relearn from watching his work. There is no right way when creating works of art, it's all subjective to how we want to see them through.
I clapped after. This is great.
this video should go viral! EXTREMELY GREAT! very good job man
Simon I have to say that I LOVED this! Everyone is so concerned with the technicalities of color grading rather than the creative aspect of it. Thank you for this!
One of the best videos I have ever seen. I have no other words to describe it. The creativity is astounding and I love how everything wrapped up in the end w/ the painting.
You managed to make a tutorial engaging, entertaining, and fun; far and beyond what you needed to do. All love man, keep it up!
You're so right!!! :)
How did i miss this ch? Good stuff!!
DUDE I WISH I COULD GIVE U 100000 mil SUBS!! You are brilliant keep up the excellent work.
Man this guys videos are the best. He's so well spoken and fluent and he knows his shit. Keep doing your thing man!
Simon! This was my favorite episode of DSLR-Guide by far! Great storytelling, and the music was really fitting! Love it. Keep up the good work!
This was.. different from your typical episodes. I liked it.
Learning so much from your videos man.
The overall theme of this video is great. The cutscenes of the painting, the minimal music, and the overall simplicity, is just wonderful. Great job on the video, mate.
thank you, that means a lot :)
Simon I love your videos, your straight to the point and your passion for your work is genuine. There are so many people in the industry where this isn't the case. I share your videos with new film makers every chance I get. From your words to you visualization you get it my friend. keep doing what you love.
thanks Chris, really appreciate it :)
wow. thats the best color grading tutorial i've ever seen. You've earned me as a new sub. :)
cheers! welcome aboard :)
Simon Cade, I have recently found your videos. They are very good and inspiring. Thank you, please keep it up :)
thanks avery, appreciate it :)
That was the most lovely way somebody could be informed about color grading. That video was like a hug and a "you can do it too!".
I love how the video was both educational, yet somehow artistic and almost touching.
That was so lovely, I learned alot from it!
This was amazing :')
why thank you :)
i just love the way you narrate your tutorials.... it just keeps me watching........ great job simon
Your visual metaphors are something that make you really special simon..keep up the good work
You got talent my friend
Wow I was expecting some pretentious in-depth stuff as these videos usually are but you actually said what was true, its a personal preference.
Very good video indeed, big fan of analogue look myself having grown up with it mostly.
Your videos are more than tutorials. They're like little inspirational movies that get you thinking and get your emotions and passion going. You're awesome Simon.
I am so glad I found your channel. Your videos, just like the films you reference, are amazing pieces of art. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. You are truly talented.
I really like this new formula but I think the others one is really good and I hope you don't forget it and mi both of them nicely !
Love your show teach is me a lot of thing thanks for everything !
+DSLRguide

*edit after watching again im subscribing. this was fantastic
why thank you!
You are the only one person who motivates me for filmmaking! Thank you :)
i loved this! was feeling kinda exhausted from working with a lot of stuff but all those pictures and videos and colours made me forget everything and relaxed me a lot. Im going to sleep now with a smile ^^
Very good! I just showed my girlfriend and she thought it was really cool too! If you don't know about the power of editing, you will be amazed watching this.
thanks Logan, appreciate the positive vibes!
Holy shit! I don't even know what your channel is properly about, but this video was somehow so good I just had to subscribe.
I'm also on adderall right now, so that makes me obviously euphoric as shit too, but, honestly, what a great fucking video!!
haha well I appreciate your positivity!
AND you took the time to read and answer this retarded comment! xD
A youtuber doesn't get much better that that. :)
couldnt agree more with your comment! well, everything but the adderall thing, but its alright jaja.
cheers from spain!
The ending with the painting and the sink was phenomenal! Great job :)
sweet editing in this one. Probably one of my favorite vids from u!!
Very interesting. If this existed in my time...
Lol imagine what kubrick could do with the resources we have today
moral of this video "fuck whatever I'm saying, it's your decision" xD
Honestly tho, that's the main idea with filmmaking. Everyone's gotta make their own movies.
Francesco Films Very true
easily one of your best videos simon keep it up!
You are by far the most genuine helpful channel on youtube for filmmakers like myself, I find myself learning a lot about things I thought I already knew well so thank you :)
so glad to hear that sophie. might I add that your video of Wales is beautiful...
Thank you!!
I cri every tiem
wew, and after removing about a hundred clickbait titles and video game youtubers from my suggestions i finally get some quality content.
haha cheers Elvis
I have never tried filmmaking but it is really interesting. You make these videos so inspiring and makes me want to grab a camera and just try it out. Keep up the good work, these videos are some of the best on UA-cam.
This video was so amazingly creative. It did help me a lot in terms of grading because I used to just try to grade footage and not take the overall feel in mind. Thank you so much for this! And a lovely painting too! :)
Apple????
You can hear the crunch at the end.
Oh... Thanks.. I just realized that @3:11 ;)
Wheres the apple???? NOOOOO
The sound is at 3:12 , its just that we don't see him bite it
It was when he was cleaning the paint palette
Listen in the beginning of the last shot
Ohhhhhh. Thanks guys!
That last paint washing scene was magnificent.
subscribed after this. watched many of your videos, but this is just the icing on the cake.
it's up to the client. not up to u. never ever ever.
unless you are grading your own independent project!
In that case I guess you are your own client.
the amount of effort you put In to your videos is inspiring
Great video (as always) Simon. I'm especially impressed by the level of detail you have in this and all of your videos ... keep it up, my friend.
This is propably the best tutorial-like video I've seen in years.
Great job, thank you :)
This is so awesome! Beautiful video Simon!
You cover so much in a limited time. You have a real gift Simon, it's hard to believe you are only 18. At that age, I rode my skateboard and listened to music that's about it. I can't wait to see you shine on the big screen. I will view your films on a tablet from my rocking chair.
i just spent an hour watching your videos! i love how you teach but your whole message is that, you're the artists so you decide.
Really really appreciated and enjoyed this episode Simon! Great work!
Your video about art is a piece of art by itself, keep up the good work!
I am binge watching all of your videos. Simon, you're doing a mighty fine job.
thanks Simeon, it honestly means a lot :)
Honestly the best video you have ever made. Love your channel!
cheers Jaden :)
