Sri H Ramakrishnan's contributions are both multifaceted and extraordinary. I have seen his interview with Sri M. N. Nambiar, and it was wide-ranging and detailed at the same time. It was incredibly beautifully done both in terms of the interviewer-lakshana, and the interviewee-lakshana. He was able to ask superb questions and give Sri Nambiar the space to answer it. For some reason, I got the impression that this one is much more choppy. There is a sense of discontinuity throughout, and I wonder if Sri Ramakrishnan was not given the space/time to explore and let Smt. Bhanumathi, one of the most sparkling artistes of all time, speak much. There was an overdose of movie-clip fill-ups, and not enough insights from her. If one wants to see her talents, there are many movies available in their entirety to watch. I wanted to get a sense of the behind-the-scenes thinking and the heart-beat of the artiste, and I came away disappointed. This observation is strictly with respect to this video clip. My respect for Sri Ramakrishnan remains intact for what he represents, deep knowledge, vast experience, extraordinary professionalism and dignity, and multidimensional talent.
