Awesome video. Appreciate you getting to the point and not blabbing on about other random unrelated stuff. First time doing an impeller an Got it all taken care of in a little over an hour. Could have went way faster but wanted to make sure it was done right with no extra parts left over. 🤣 Thank you!
Good video, very helpful. I have never seen a torque spec that was without lube. You're not doing it wrong by adding lube, you're doing it right. And not to be picky, you are working with the key. The keyway is the groove in the shaft and impeller.
I hope you meant the spacer and yes sometimes they will slide off with the lower unit just make sure when you reinstall it you add some grease to the studs so you do t get corrosion build up there
Great video. My lower unit will not come off same motor. Will not budge at all even if I lower it down and stand on it and I have all 5 bolts removed. Any tips?
Leave one bolt loose and on the side you will have to pry between the lower and mid housing usually it’s stuck at the front Dow pin and side studs . You may need some on blaster or heat depends on the amount of corrosion
I same engine SN 2B608397 I am looking for the bearing nut assembly removal tool. What it the right size. I have to change out the prop seals and I need a couple tools I do not have. Do you have links to the tools or part number for the tools.
Use an inch pounds torque wrench 1/4 inch drive for the water pump bolts and thx I may just do a vid on the stand we made it the night before with left over scrap 2x4
@@ShallowHookerFishing thanks. Do you have a make and model number for the wrench? I'm expecting delivery of a Ranger 2510 with a 300 hp mercury and would like to do the 100 and 300 hr. Maintenence myself.
It doesn’t matter you can go to lowes and get a craftsman or husky from homedepot the one I use is a snap on and it cost around 400 bucks so that may not be for you but a cheaper one is fine 50- 100 bucks

Thanks .. I am looking to repower . Replacing 150 etec evinrudes with 150 4S mercs.. what kind of performance are you getting?
Great video. I have a question though. After the first 6 bolts/nuts removed. My upper and lower unit dropped together? Why?

It should be in forward gear. Then the propeller shaft can be turned to engage the driveshaft.
Just to confirm torque settings: Torque water pump bolt to 35 Ib. in? Thanks!
Great video!
Will I need to re add lower unit oil after it’s replaced ?

great video
Should it be shifted in rev/foward or ledt in neutral?
Neutral
Having it in forward could make things easier.
Nice video! What size torque wrench do you recommend? Will you do a quick video or send me the specs on your lower unit holder? Looks good.

Your missing a bolt underneath. There are 6.
@@catherinedubois1071 where is the 6th? 2 on each side and one under anode
@@catherinedubois1071 Sorry, there are 5 holding the lower unit.
Use 4-5 wooden wedges. First spray some WD40 or similiar in there, and when you have got an opening. Let it sit for a while if it doesn't come loose.
