--- LYRICS
When I get older
Losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine?
Birthday greetings bottle of wine?
If I'd been out
Till quarter to three
Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you
I could be handy
Mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden
Digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?
Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck, and Dave
Send me a postcard
Drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely wasting away
Give me your answer
Fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four? - Розваги
Paul was only 16 years old when he composed this song...my God, how did he have such insight about getting older at such a tender age? Amazing...
Dude these guys were demi gods
@@JayDillDrums Best explanation I've heard.
Happy 68th!!
@@RobertSeviour1 thank you bro.
he was a normal person..had a dad, aunts and uncles...of course he could imagine what 64 was gonna be like.
Thanks! :)
Sonny recorded the lead first, using a click track, then I recorded bass, listening to his part, then Dieter recorded baritone and finally Dan. We've all done many such projects, we're getting a bit used to it now I suppose.
Wooow, that harmony blew me away, Bravo !!!!!
imho THAT would work
Dude you need to post each part in this song I need them so my friends and I can perform this at our next concert
Seeing you separated in the vid, I knew you'd gone through a whole new network to bring it all together. Real excellence! 👍👍
None can beat the combination of Dan, Sonny, Julien and Dieter. Melifluous voices, blending and balancing beautifully together. And with those expressions thrown in for good measure, they are a treat to the eyes and ears! Thank you!!
Very enjoyable! (Do you have any Beatles' When I'm 79?)
Especially the Champagne cork!
Couldn't be better said if I had said it myself!
I'm japanese and not good at English.
But their pronunciation is easy to understand for me.
Besides, their voices are so beautiful!!
Harry Potter you're a wizard Harry
Japanese: a generalization, but a key to your awesomeness is your humility, combined with doing what it takes to achieve your goals. This response is 4 years after your post, but I'm thinking that your command of the English language is by now better than 80% (at least) of those residing in primarily-English-speaking countries. I would currently describe the majority of us (at least in the United States) in 3 words (it's a cliche, but true) FAT, DUMB, AND HAPPY. Come on in, my friend. . . we could use the new blood!
I'm American and my Japanese worse than your English... but I like Asuca Hayashi's music!
Sure, here's the range for each part, from lowest to highest:
- Bass (Julien): G2 to A3
- Baritone (Dieter): F3 to D4
- Lead (Sonny): C3 to F4
- Tenor (Dan): A3 to A4
Yay I could sing any part
They did great!
@@-juddthedudd-485 Good luck with that G2!! I can only get down to D3 when i have a DEEP cold, lol.
I'm base too
@@michaelhausmann7570 well, it's all about that bass after all!!
Years ago I taught this to my adult evening class but had to change the words to 84 as so many were 65 & over.
Absolutely love those passing chords.
I first heard this by the Buckingham's in the 70's, I think. I thought then, I'll never live to be 64!! I'm 74 next month. LOL
It happens to everyone.
Wow... I think I need you guys for my wedding.
SORRY FOR MY WRONG ENGLISH ! The way you are singing this song in A Cappella is just so GREAT . I can't stop listening to it on and on and on. Thank you so much for your talent.
Now I am 64! I was 14 when it was recorded. Greetings from Brazil. Love you all.
My dad turned 64 in August so I played this vid for him. He loved it 😊
I swear there is no bad barbershop groups. They're all amazing.
Just ask Mike Rowe- the Dirty Jobs guy. He did barbershop when he was in HS.
I performed this song in competition with my barbershop quartet in the same arrangement got the bass part from listening to this can't thank y'all enough

I remember watching these videos on the TV when I was like 6... I feel so much happiness watching this 💓
I'm well beyond 64 now, and this tune still makes me happy. Thank you so much A Cappella Barbershop Quartet!
Losing my hair... "points at sony," lol
Gustavo P. I love Sonny’s face there
I didn't see any televisions in this video.
Oh, guys... The best smile today - that is, when I AM indeed 64. Thank you for the sheer joy!
Happy 64 Arnina! :)

Thank you for the kind words & for supporting my work actively. :)
This is one of the cutest performances that I have ever seen. The vocals reminded me of the music back in the 50s. This is probably now my favorite version of this song. Loved the bass singers vocals. His voice really stood out among the rest of the guys.
That would be me, thanks! :)
***** Your Welcome :3 Please continue putting out great music for me to listen too. I really enjoy it.

In fact I'm 64 today.
Happy birthday :)
Thanks
Well, I'm 19, & I'll comment too when I'm 64 hehe
Same here.
Two more years
You put a smile on my face. Not only the harmony is amazing but seeing the humor and joy on your faces is great.
Very well done! It's amazing how Paul could write such a song while he was in his 20's. Same with his classic "Honey Pie."
Actually, it came from earlier - he wrote it when he was 16!
Fantastic, I was 64 when this was sung ...
What a great arrangement. The notes in the harmonies are so cool.
Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? :)
Good Valentine's day song!
I don't understand your question, there's a typo that makes it confusing. Sonny recorded his lead, we did find it a little slow but it sounded great, so we went along with it. You have to keep in mind we only hear the actual result once everything is recorded, so things aren't as clear during the process as they are afterwards.
*****
well you can mess arround with the video speed now apparently!
there's an option on the quality button =P
When I'm 64! ;)
MrB irds Wow! I'm playing it at 1.5, and it works at this temp, too. But 1.25 would have been perfect.
One of the BEST barbershop songs ever! Thanks
Came back to this today for my 64th birthday. My wife still feeds me, I’m glad to say. Hopefully still needs me too.
Happy Birthday Nick!
Excellent job guys and you all did it online. Truly amazing.
Is there any way to like this 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times? Because THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME VIDEO! YOU GUYS HAVE BEAUTIFUL VOICES!!!!!!!!
Flawless execution. One of my favorite Beatles songs. Been listening to this almost everyday for months.
Dear Dan Sonny Julien & Dieter,
Bravo! It was a pleasure to listen a Cappella the Beatles!
I actually applauded at the computer screen at the end of this!
Great job, guys!
Wow, almost 2 million... not too shabby!
Almost 1.2 million actually. But still a nice feat! :)
Ah whoops I misread the number. Still great though!
Dan and Julien you guys are geniuses !!!
It’s almost 2 million now!
@@JulienNeel No... No, actually almost 2 million ;)
This used to be my grandpa's favourite song. He didn't even make it to 60 but, I still remember him singing this & making lunch in the kitchen with a 1940s pink apron on.😊❤
I sent this to my little brother in April 2016 who was turning 64 the next day. Minutes later I found the MonaLisa Twins' cover of this and the rest is history; really groovy history!
I just found this, and I have to say that you all have wonderful voices. keep up the work. I wish I had a voice like you guys
🇨🇦❤️Naturally, this is one of my favourite Beatles songs and this rendition is wonderful!
Love these guys. You are just brilliant. Thanks so much for bringing happiness to the world. 😊 ❤❤❤❤

Oh, my goodness! You guys are SO GOOOOD!!! And although I've never heard this song sung this way before :( , this song was WRITTEN for Barber Shop!!
So happy I did now :) Thank you!
I became 64 a day ago. Video sent by a Friend. I listened to the song as "a 64" and ... I must say ... the interpretation of the words felt different. Perfect performance.
OMG You guys sound AMAZING together. My ears are crying of happiness.

I listen to this almost everyday, and it never gets old. It's not fair; teach me your secrets~
Out of curiosity, what's your range? You sound like you'd be a true bass.
Sounds to me like he's comfortable singing all 4 parts of 4 part harmony!
not sure how much of his channel you've seen so far but he is comfortable singing all four parts shown as he commonly does so in many videos.
His range is E4-C5.
Have you seen his chipmunk song? He can sing so high it seems artificial!
Annia Balcazar i
This was hilarious - typical barbershop humor! Harmony was right on - stayed true to the original song while throwing in barbershop harmony. Great job guys!!!
Thank you! :)
TODAY is my husband's 64th birthday. And my hubby Dave used to sing in a Barbershop quartet and chorus for about 20 years and he loved it so I know he will love this version. My husband has been a huge Beatles fan throughout his lifetime and to have this song become a reality TODAY is so very special. We are even having a BEATLES birthday party for him.Happy 64th Birthday, Dave!!!
Excellent job!
This is just... fantastic! :D
your combined harmonic blend is exceptional..thanks
I love this! Beautiful harmonies, singing, everything. thanks for doing it. I sent it to my husband today the best looking, healthiest, 64 year old I know.!
LOL "You'll be older too" had me laughing! CLassic and impressive
Wow, fantastic :) Brilliant singing. My other half is 64 today (he was 27 when we got together) - so appropriate!
Loved this performance. Uplifting. Great song. Great quartet. Great energy.
I'm 64 today and my eyes are filled with tears
Can't get to France to shake your hand. Sorry. Just signed up on patreon. I always loved Istanbul as a kid. You make me smile.
Thank you Laurie, much appreciated! Your comment made my day. :)

It is very nice for learning English with accent.
Thanks.
Go ahead and take my like. I have been a fan of Barbershop since The Music Man.
Love you guys....I started to cry halfway through because you made me so happy with your international brotherhood of music!
I was never crazy about the original version of this song, but I like it A LOT more as an a capella arrangement. Nice job guys.
I feel the exact same way.
The best version (before this!) was the Kenny Ball Jazzmen version IMO. Seek it out!
Just thoroughly pleasant!
I NEVER get tired of listening to this and watching it performed so brilliantly. And I've watched it many times. It always lifts my spirits. Thanks!
Thanks Steve! If you'd like to learn this tune & sing it with your buddies, audio learning tracks are available on my website: julienneel.com

I would trade my movie-star good looks for one these guy's voices any day. Well done guys!

Way to toot your own horn
Will you still make great videos like this when I'm sixty-four?
+Alexander Frank I'm 23 btw

They were doing it when I was 68
One of the very few times I prefer a cover of a Beatles song to the original. You guys took this and turned it into a stunning vocal masterpiece. Simply beautiful.
I've loved quartet since I was kid. so glad it's back! Love it!!!!
This song gets stuck in my head every time I play it, but do you know what? It's totally worth it! :)
Glad you enjoy it! :)

***** Done, mon ami. Merci beaucoup des États-Unis!
I'd LOVE to see you guys all do a piece together all at once in the same take, in the same room. I dunno how practical that'd be though due to location, but it'd be amazing nonetheless :)
Love it when Sonny pops the cork!
Amazing... This deserves a Grammy!
Will you still need me Will you still feed me when I'm 6 feet 4
Ok clap clap
Carina hahahaha
Pp
I make no promises
anyone else listening to this in quarantine??
Nope, you are the only one.
I absolutely LOVE this barbershop cover!!
I have always been a fan of Beatles songs, especially this one. So to find a barbershop quartet version of it with such great harmony just made my day! Love everything about this song!
sonny wasn't sacared of losing hairs
*OOF*
Isn't that splitting hairs?
Oh ya lol 😂 I
It's much better on 1.25 speed!
64 today!! what a treat to listen to this
Wow! You guys are SOOooo GOOOOD!! The harmonies you produce are just so PLEASING to the ears!
There are a few reasons:
- The baritone part swerves around the lead. It's quite often above it, so you could confuse it with tenor.
- Sonny and I have blending voices, something we only discovered through these collabs. If you hear us singing solo, you'd never think we blend that well.
- The baritone is always the hardest to pick, because the rest is high, low and ... lead.
At 1:40 and 2:50 I'm with one other voice only. Listen to my color there and try finding it in the rest of the song.
This is one of my all time favorite performances of a favorite classic. I watch this several times a month. It is chicken soup for the soul, thank you, such a beautiful performance!.
2:13 not gonna lie, a bit disappointed they didn't add the second "we shall scrim"
Excellent! Dan' s voice is wonderful!
That was fantastic! I'll be 64 next May. Subscribed.
I'll never be 64 again :-)
wow
Don't worry mate, neither will Paul
I'm 15 and I love his music if only I could get the kids listening to rap listen to this
Now Ur 21, has anything changed?
Great job, guys! I thoroughly enjoyed this!
Love this! So sweet, happy and the harmonies are amazing.

I didn't know there's a Belgian way to hum.
So ... my 87 y/o Dad played this for me today ... on my 64th bday. He seemed surprised when I began to sing along! LOL Great job!! New subbie here!
I could listen all night! Thanks for posting!
Julien!!!!! What happened with you, man? You seem to have lagged out on the videos! This lack of your a cappella's is making me (and I bet the rest of your fans) sad! Are you going to produce weekly videos anymore or no?
fanny3211 m
This different harmony-like singing, how do you call this for a more chanting style? So, you still have multiple people hitting different tones but the whole theme not being this..Uh...Happy I guess?
It's hard to describe, any help is appreciated. (I tried searching for harmonic chant and didn't find anything.)
Great video anyway :)
I'm a bit confused by your question, but I'll try to answer it. This style of a cappella music (no instruments, just voices), is called barbershop. It's a type of vocal jazz, where 4 male voices sing together. The melody is sung by one of the two highest voices, but not the highest, and it's called the "lead", the other high voice is the tenor. There are two lower voices called "baritone" and "bass". Barbershop has a very recognizable color to it and it's a ton of fun to sing, you should give it a try if you have a barbershop chorus on your town.
Well, that wasn't my question, I do know what a Barbershop quartet is.
I've heard choirs do something similiar, just not this jazz-y and I asked whether you know how that's called or not. Thanks for the reply anyway!
SirMalorak Ah I see, you are asking about different genres of a cappella singing that can take a given song but apply kinds of chords to it to give it a different texture. Do you mean Gregorian? gospel? choral?
***** Something like that I guess. Gregorian is close, but I'm searching for this "everyone is hitting a different note but it still sounds good" majigger. Gregorian is just a good amount of people singing the same note, but it is close, yes. Thanks again.
If you are confused about the style.....It is Barbershop quartet.......based on the music of the early 1900's. I.E. "In the good old Summertime". (1903).
Dan's tenor part in the minor section always give me the chills. It is superb :)
Absolutely charming!
Still prefer this to the original!
Triston Hamilton Just always been more of a Rolling Stones person than a Beatles tbh
Triston Hamilton Most people are either a Stones person or a Beatles person, I've never really liked the Beatles hence why I prefer this.
Dare I say better than the original?
I'd like to hear these harmonies but with the cadence of the original song
agreed! the fun spirit of the original, but fleshed out with these lovely chords
sorry but not even close to the original
SoundMaster Exactly, different strokes for different folks.
SoundMaster Well if the Sound Master said so, I can't argue. :)
64 yesterday~ Love this song ! thank you
Love the new twist on a barber shop quartet. Beautiful!
