I'm 21, married, just had my second baby. I was a teen mom, ended up dropping out of high school. I'm happy and blessed to have my family but bc I put them first I have left myself behind. My husband has always supported me and encouraged me to follow my dreams but I felt it was just too late for me, felt I wouldn't succeed. My dreams and my passion for makeup were put aside so I could focus on my babies. But you've inspired me to start my UA-cam channel and finally focus on myself. Wow... This has been such an important video for me... because literally today I decided to go ahead with starting an Etsy shop to sell my artwork. I'm a stay at home mom & need the extra money, & I've had people recently tell me that my artwork & sculptures are good enough to sell... but even with that, it's still just been really hard to feel confidant enough to put myself out there. SH How did you know you were depressed? I feel...as if I might be...just because of the anxiety that attacks me..when I want to take the step to apply to law school. I know this video is old and I'm super late and you might not even see this but I'm at work watching this video and it just hit me hard. I literally silent cried so my co worker won't hear me lol. Make up is my passion I may not be that good at it yet but I don't really have anyone who supports me and encourages me to continue to do it. Seriously amazing and so inspiring! In the beginning, It was so hard for me to start filming and dare to upload videos. I saw all of you professional UA-camrs and wanted my own videos to be as good as them in quality and content. But i soon realised that if I'm going to wait until I'm fully satisfied, I'm never going to upload anything. So I thought, why not make the best out of my situation and grow from there, gradually. To see that other people like you also started from the bottom is so inspiring. It proof that It's not a magic trick, to nail everything when you've never done anything like it before. My dad died in May after a very long illness. I had never been into makeup, but one of my friends gave me a makeover to cheer me up, and I fell in love! My mom took me to Ulta and bought me a ton of makeup and I watched a bunch of videos. Makeup gave me confidence and helped get me through the depression of losing my father. Long story short, I just made my first video! I had so much fun but I was so scared. Thanks for being so real LarLar, you do inspire people.

This video hits home for me. Laura I'm in a similar place in my life, struggling with ADD, diagnosed in the 5th grade. High School was purely social for me, and I'm currently looking for work here in the Napa area as a medical assistant. It's hard living in an "analytical" world when you're not an analytical thinker. Creativity is definitely an outlet for most, if not all people living life "thinking" a different way. It's so inspiring to see you finding something beautiful, artistic, creative and making the most wonderful life with it. Laura I'm crying so hard as I write this comment. You have no idea how much this video means not only to me but many many others. I'm that girl on that little screen right now. I'm 21, married, just had my second baby. I was a teen mom, ended up dropping out of high school. I'm happy and blessed to have my family but bc I put them first I have left myself behind. My husband has always supported me and encouraged me to follow my dreams but I felt it was just too late for me, felt I wouldn't succeed. My dreams and my passion for makeup were put aside so I could focus on my babies. But you've inspired me to start my UA-cam channel and finally focus on myself. I hope in 4 years I am where you are and I am happy with my accomplishments and I make it to where I want to be so that I am able to say everything you said in this video. Wow... This has been such an important video for me... because literally today I decided to go ahead with starting an Etsy shop to sell my artwork. I'm a stay at home mom & need the extra money, & I've had people recently tell me that my artwork & sculptures are good enough to sell... but even with that, it's still just been really hard to feel confidant enough to put myself out there. In the beginning, It was so hard for me to start filming and dare to upload videos. I saw all of you professional UA-camrs and wanted my own videos to be as good as them in quality and content. But i soon realised that if I'm going to wait until I'm fully satisfied, I'm never going to upload anything. So I thought, why not make the best out of my situation and grow from there, gradually.
To see that other people like you also started from the bottom is so inspiring. It proof that It's not a magic trick, to nail everything when you've never done anything like it before. It's just passion, a lot of hard work and experience :)

I too have no computer and have to borrow my mother in laws computer and was hesitating because of it BUT watching this gave me so much confidence and inspiration!! I wish they could just understand the beauty of UA-cam and know it the way I know it. My dad died in May after a very long illness. I had never been into makeup, but one of my friends gave me a makeover to cheer me up, and I fell in love! My mom took me to Ulta and bought me a ton of makeup and I watched a bunch of videos. Makeup gave me confidence and helped get me through the depression of losing my father. Long story short, I just made my first video! I had so much fun but I was so scared. Thanks for being so real LarLar, you do inspire people.

This is exactly how I felt just now seeing this UA-cam video, I'm in my freshman year of college and for the past two years just keep on feeling empty, I'm losing friends, and I'm losing interest in my path of nursing and I want more for my future. I've always wanted to be able to have a UA-cam channel and to be accepted and to be able to enjoy my life working with makeup but it just seems so impossible. Maybe one day!
Lindsay McCarty i feel you v.v I am 20 studying to be an astrophysics but I don't feel confident enough about that career and all my family is like so happy because I am going to college but in the inside I am like please help me I don't know what I am want to do with my life ,I want something that can make me happy and give money I really like astrophysics and I am good at school but as I just said I am not happy with that right now I am scared what if I fail one class ,what if I don't get my degree ,etc and v.v since I was 15 years I wanted yo do a UA-cam channel about makeup,motivations etc and I wasn't thinking about money because I didn't even knew you could get money from UA-cam videos .. But I don't have enough courage to do it v.v and I am here like maybe next month I do my first UA-cam video but nothing happens ... But not anymore I have to do it it doesn't .matter if nobody watch my first video I'm gonna keep doing it 😁 I hope I can see a video of you soon and I hope I can be you first subscriber !! I honestly watched this at the exact right time. I’ve already gone to school twice and am so stuck, but have wanted to make videos for literally YEARS. I never had the courage and I’m just starting to really try. This gave me such a boost and motivation. I will always admire how you encourage growth in the community because that’s so rare. Keep inspiring, as always. ❤️
This video just gave me so much hope for myself. I'm actually from a small town right outside Montgomery and I have been wanting to start my own channel, but always say "No one wants to hear from a small town Alabama girl." But not only that.. everything you said reminds me so much of myself. I cried through the ending because I felt like in someway you were talking to me. You've come such a long way! I've watched many of your videos but You gained a new subscriber today!

aww this give so many people hope especially the ones that's going through a rough time after high school and college and still can't figure what to do with their life. This made me feel like things are going to be okay in the future after watching this video. Thanks alot for sharing ur private life to encourage others that they are going through a bad phase in life and that it will get better.

Aww when you started crying it made me so sad I'm at a time where I'm lost and I'm sad constantly and my boyfriend is my only friend, I watch so many UA-cam tutorials and I won't shut up about you and other youtuber! He's been encouraging me to make tutorials and see where it takes me but I don't have the courage! DO IT!! I'm the same way. We have to just do it!! everyone has to start somewhere and instead of saying "I want to" and not doing it and wondering what it could of been we need to just say "I can and I will" I'm tired of living life in fear of what others will think and say. I don't want to wake up everyday wondering what it would of been like to start a youtube channel. Who cares if we only have 2 subscribers?! had me crying so hard laura. thank you so much for sharing your story with us it truly means a lot. i haven't started to post any videos bc of many reasons, which includes supplies but most importantly confidence. i see so many of my friends starting their channels & having a blast but i'm just not there yet. i may not be that great at make up but i'd still love to start a channel with vlogs or even tutorials on other things. but this gave me a little more confidence & this let me know that if i don't start now, i never will. thank you again for sharing this with us.

Laura, this video really inspired me. I've been wanting to start my own UA-cam channel and upload makeup videos, just like you! I've been debating wether to start a channel or not for a couple years now. And I recently found your channel about a year ago! I came across this video today, and you really gave me the push I've been needing. If I don't start now I won't get to where I want to be. That really hit it home for me. Although I don't have a Mac computer, seeing you get to where you are now with what you had, inspires me even more. Thank you for making videos and inspiring me to just do what I want to do and not let little things try and stop me.

This video hits home for me. Laura I'm in a similar place in my life, struggling with ADD, diagnosed in the 5th grade. High School was purely social for me, and I'm currently looking for work here in the Napa area as a medical assistant. It's hard living in an "analytical" world when you're not an analytical thinker. Creativity is definitely an outlet for most, if not all people living life "thinking" a different way. It's so inspiring to see you finding something beautiful, artistic, creative and making the most wonderful life with it. You're one of the ones who broke the mold and made it Laura, and you're an inspiration for those of us in the dark still finding our way.

I've been feeling so lost and not really sure what I want to do with my life career wise , being a teen mom and not being able to graduate with my class really gets you ina depressed mode and I've been wanting to make videos about how life really is and give each other advise help each other out & not just makeup or diy but I haven't had the courage to do it but this made me realize if I don't start how will i get somewhere? Omg Laura!! This made me cry with you. It’s so nice to see famous UA-camrs still have their day one video to show where they’ve come from even if back then it was hard and a dark place to return to. I’ve been contemplating starting makeup videos too because I get such great feedback day to day and it’s truly what I wanna do but I’m so nervous and scared to put myself out there like you said.
