OWC Thunderbolt Hub (2021) FIRST LOOK!

- I just got this Other World Computing Thunderbolt Hub and wanted to give you guys a quick once over at what it can do! Connecting my two port M1 MacBook Pro to this hub doubles my Bolt ports and adds a USB 3.2 (type-A). I'll try to get a more in-depth review up soon.
I purchased this OWC 4 Hub. My experience was not as good. With ext thunderbolt 4 SSD connected had 1400 W 1700 R. Connected directly to back of M1 Mac mini had 2000 W 2400 R. With a Crucial 500GB USB-C SSD mid 500's r/w with dock. 800 r/w connected directly. Sent it to OWC and they said its fine. When I get it back I will document the speed differences and make my first UA-cam video. I personally wont buy from them again. Check their BBB score 1 out of 5 stars along with the 1 star reviews on their previous TB3 dock on Amazon.
The downstream ports in the system report are depicting the negotiated speed with their respective devices.
Thx Peter! After I posted this I noticed those speeds followed the device/chain. That’s encouraging, and so far it’s been rock solid.
Hey, thanks for this video! I'm looking to buy one of these for my 2017 Macbook Pro. I've got a Focusrite Clarett 4pre Thunderbolt that's using one of those Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapters. Is that what you're using with your Apollo? Does the adapter work with the Hub?
Been trying to find an answer for this online and OWC customer support have confusingly enough told me that the hub isn't compatible with my Intel Macbook at all? Also the distributer for OWC here in the UK told me that I can't use my Clarett with any OWC docks..
Hey Marcus! Yeah, I'm using a TB3 to TB2 adapter (the Apple one) with my Apollos/Satellite and it works perfectly with the hub. I've currently got the hub on my 2018 model Intel Mini and it's working fine. I can't speak directly to what they said re: '17 MBP, but that seems wrong.
