It's been a minute since I last did a Gunpla Review. Also, instead of specifically putting the articulation in its own section, I tried to show it and talk about it throughout the video.
You did an excellent job showing the articulation, though I feel like an articulation section is a bit of Kakarot gunpla review tradition that I don't want to see go. Just like the HG GM Custom and the always bulky Zaku III.
As a teenager I remember thinking "wow these Perfect Grade models are intense, I can't wait to see what the Perfect Grade Double-Zeta Gundam's gonna look like!" That was 20 years ago, and I'm still waiting.
Going by the Master Grade ZZ, at least of the time of relevance it was a really unstable transformation and therefore the frame was not great. The Master Ka might be a decent enough surrogate, but it's not 1:60.
@@elbee2324 Yes, with todays engineering the transformation would not be difficult since they did it at a scale smaller than 1/60. We've been pretty dry of perfect grade for a hot minute i think people are ready for a new one, I personally am hoping for ZZ or Crossbone.
I got into the hobby a year and a half ago and have maybe around 200 hundred kits at this point, but I’ve yet to buy a PG. The MKII Titans is my favorite Gundam of all time so it will for sure be my first.
@ I didn’t say I’ve built all of them lol IDK how many I’ve built but it’s probably around 140 maybe? I got mega burnout a few times and had to take a month or two sabbatical.
A good quick fix for colorless clear plastic is to run over the surface with a sharpie of your desired color. A green sharpie marker would fix the sensors forehead weapons no problem, plus the eyes and other body cameras can also be given a green coat, even if they're still too dark to see when off
Bring back good memories I built this kit probably about 15 years ago and let me tell you the ankles are a serious problem But it still looks good on the shelf
Currently building the 1/100 GP02A (3rd party Solomon kit) and it seems to be closer to a mini perfect grade than an MG after watching this video (I sadly haven't built a PG....yet).
I remember building this, and absolutely hating the lighting set up. The cockpit light never worked, and the switch to turn them on is jank as hell. The waist connector to the torso was the only other part that felt very flimsy to me. Mine still will not line up properly so that you can get the side to side stretches. Other than that, this kit still holds up for a 24 year old kit, imo.
I looked at the construction manual to try and see what might be causing your cockpit LED issue. It kinda looks like the wires have a spade connector on them that the screws for the metal pieces pass through. Since you said they go out when O15 is installed makes me wonder if the crimp for the spade connectors for the cockpit LEDs is not the greatest. I am not sure if you have a multimeter to check for continuity, if you even can. It kinda looked like the LED side has heat shrink on it. Something else you could try is to see if moving around the wires with like a pair of smooth tweezers would cause the same symptom.
This is exactly the problem. When O15 is pressed into place, it's pushing the wires inward at a slight angle from the top, breaking connection. A pair of pliers squeezing the crimp down a little more firmly and slightly bending the connection tab inward fixed mine.
Guess PG astray has the ankles in common with MK2, mine fell 7 times, in which the last tumble broke the heads sharp backfins + the black strips on said fins/backpack clear parts and sharp edges. Yet the v-fin is safe still wtf?! After I get replacement parts from a good source since bandai us needs me to have buy it 30 days or less, I would also try to find a PG action base. That and for the MK2 bc I love this MS to death and desire a PG
wow your upper arm pistons didnt drop out when you did that motion. i must have bought one with a tolerance defect. the piston will drop out if i did the shield up pose. side note, be careful when opening the head armor for maintenance mode. the motion puts extra stress on the peg. so my left armor has a broken peg. for some reason the head pieces joint in my kit is extra stiff. even the neck joint scares me. the bazooka handle must be use with care, i broke mine already. not the piece that slots into the hands, its the peg that joins the trigger to the bazooka main body that broke. but i have fixed it once. it held until i moved houses... also broke the V fins during the move. so i have a "thunderbolt" Gundam MK2 head...or the GM Quel MK2 before i watched thunderbolt.
That loose ankle issue eventually caused mine to tip forward, somehow snapped the yellow surrounding trip for the chest vents on the left side. I also noticed there's a major tolerance difference between the AEUG and Titans versions. While I didn't need to file down pistons for the AUEG version, I did for many on the Titans version.
This is the kinda gimmicky stuff I think of when I think PG. All the pistons and the intricate details and whatnot, it's all sick. I would buy this kit on the cheap, like less than a hundred. Surprisingly I still don't have a PG, but I have a Deep Striker... ugh. And I love AoZ so this one's kinda a no brainer if I can score it cheap. I really don't have the room for it and my backlog's probably about 50+ kits, so yeah. I should also mention these kits were like the coveted holy grails back in my day of dealing with import shops during high school. I knew a few people that got either the RX-78 or the Char's Zaku PG around that time in like 02, they were ballers. My first serious imported Gunpla were a MG Kampfer & an MG Dom for what it's worth. I had a friend with the v1 MG Sazabi and lemme tell ya, I was jealous.
Does anyone know where a translated version of the second book is? I have the PG zaku ii, and it also comes with one of these in-universe tech manuals and would love to read it.
Speaking of Perfect Grades, what Perfect Grade do you think Bandai will release next? If they would release one again. I would have love a PG Nu or Sazabi but since they have a Metal Structure release already I don't think they will make one for them already. So in this case if I have to choose what next PG they would be releasing it would either between a PG ZZ Gundam a PG God Gundam or a PG Wing Gundam ( The one Heero debut on).
some people dont like how they look/feel (can be hard to pose), but also cause the pgu hands have silver berween the armour which cant really be done with these pre-molded hands bandai uses(and cost cutting by not just making it an option anyway)
Check FlexiSpot C7 ergonomic chair at bit.ly/3DGE75l and use my code ''C750'' to get $50 off on the C7 ergonomic chair.

I was noticing the awesome posing capabilities of the kit throughout the video. Great demonstration without words.
I always prefer a specific articulation segment. So i really don’t know how to feel about this
The lack of articulation segment was amazing.
Its kinfa boring when its only that
As a teenager I remember thinking "wow these Perfect Grade models are intense, I can't wait to see what the Perfect Grade Double-Zeta Gundam's gonna look like!"
That was 20 years ago, and I'm still waiting.
It would be an amazing one for PG too.
I would love a PG ZZ Gundam for sure

Pg zz is an insta buy for me. Even if I don't have the space.
This is probably the quickest I've ever clicked on a UA-cam video ever
12:12 is basically just "Tiny grandpa looks upon his massive, massive boy while his mate helps him up".
I've always loved this color scheme and design.
Thankfully it is the standard scheme for the Huckebein.
“Older than some of the people watching.”
I get it brother but you don’t have to remind me lol
eventually kakarot is gonna hit us with the HG GM and the HG zaku 3 custom
Dad's back with a Gunpla review, and with a PG at that! What a treat, welcome back!
Oh my God a gunpla model kit review......YAY!
I got into the hobby a year and a half ago and have maybe around 200 hundred kits at this point, but I’ve yet to buy a PG. The MKII Titans is my favorite Gundam of all time so it will for sure be my first.
I also haven’t bought my first idk which. 200 kits is crazy tho I’ve been in it for almost a year at like 78 I think

@@purpleheart334 I feel you, gotta always keep adding to the backlog
You gotta start hunting that pg titans down now. That shit is hard to find for a normal price
A kit review from Kakarot197!? This is exciting! Time to watch the video.
Another Kakarot gunpla review? Splendid.
Like if you're older than the PG Gundam Mark II!!
:[
Theyre the same age as me lol
that sound of cracking plastic when you move the joints gave me a new fear unlocked, lol.
2:00 Steins;Gate referenced? Happiest moment watching any Kakarot video. You, good sir, are truly cultured.

The Mark II was always kinda shortchanged in the anime but the model was absolutely worthy. Fantastic review.
It might be antiquated by today's standards and ability, but that inner frame is a work of art. Would get a kit just to show it off.
Watches this while building the rg version. Love the mk ii!
I finally found a PG mkii titans kit and it should be coming around Feb. Really stoked
Great review! I have the Titans and AUEG PG kits waiting to be built. Although these are older kits, I think they hold up in '25.
That crackling gave me hella tingles
I was a bit intimidated after building the original PG, but undergating has me excited.
The hard plastic frame is better for painting, which you should probably do to bring out that glorious detail on that inner frame.
Amazing review! Its honestley very impressive what they managed to pull off back in 2001! Could you review the PG zeta gundam next?
Towards the end...hearing the GBGW music...man...i miss that game on phone. :
I missed this ones, good to have them back Leutenant Kakarot!
Love the use of the Target in Sight/Crossfire OST
Always loved the mk2 in titans colors have all except the pg
I love early over-engineered gunpla!!! Nice review.
The perfect warcrime Gundam.
Post an update vid when you figure out the light situation. I'm intrigued!

Ah, I'm building the AEUG version right now. It's an awesome kit.
Oh hey, I have that chair!
1:36 what a terrible sound.
The instant the sound hit my ears, I essentially went 😧😣. That is not a sound any model builder wants to hear!
buky ziko 3: r we teller now
gm costim : muuu no
I had one of this PG.. the worst thing about this kit is its knee joint. after a couple of years having it.. it can barely stand.
I guess I’m right about wanting that to be my first PG when I can find it.
I still need to finish this kit but I need to get more paint first.
Man I want that aeug mk2 pg that thing looks sick.
1:46 I feel like I've seen this anime somewhere. But I'm blanking on the name
that sound looks like you're eating a crunchy food. 😂

still the only colour accurate MKII kits B)
Currently building the aeug version
😊 My MK2 gunpla still kicking in good shape . Yes the crackling is scary agree Kakarot 197 👾Rockon😎✌️
Damn this thing really is older than me😂
I would buy it but sadly it wasn't available on my country. Most of the kits are still brand new.
I think I'll stick to my RG for this one.
This one is something I really wanna have. Someday 😊.
There are 1/60 scale robot frame kits available, but trying to find one is hard.

Pretty sick but with my financials I better stick to my high grade psycho gundam, the perfect grade at home
I got a wing Zero perfect grade i had in the box for a long time now, I should make it a do a video about it.
This was one of those PG kits that I was going to get for myself buttttt I really don't know about that now.
I was just talking about this jut last week, I wanna get one now, would love to be able to convert it into a Hazel lol
Oh, that crunch... uuuugh...
Older than me by a bunch
Im curious your review on RG 2.0
Gundam mk.II my favorite gundam of all time 😍
I hvae qn AEUG version I am waiting to build, but this has me excited to do so
Christ I’m older than this model. I don’t like this feeling.

I'm guessing pinched wires with the backplate installed.
Also, how's it stack next to the RG Mk2?
How come that this PG had articulated hands, but the new PG RX-78-2 doesn't?

@@JJTheDev The ball joints at the bases of the fingers can also wear out, causing them to pop free during posing.
No always bulky >:(
